I reckon the lot will sell out, I am going to be there Sundays 5 minutes before the draw so I can get my tickets before they sell out

 

I work hard to get my money, may as well be a little frivolous with it, I win and I'm set for life

Aside: if 800 tickets sell, and you buy 1 then you will have a 800:1 chance (0.125%) indeed. But I would work on 2000 selling, making the odds a much more realistic .05%.

 

Remember that every week someone must win so you would have the same chance as any other ticket. How many lottery winners do you know? There is a very good chance you will know the winner or have heard of them, bringing the excitement much closer to home.

I like the idea and will probably participate but seems to me after a while it will prob get old and not many people will pay 5k each week to get a ticket....maybe im wrong though

Agree with Kidberg, I don't think it will last long. The pot size will probably be less than 100k in a few months, I would guess.

wow i really like this idea, but how bout put the npc in a simple and easy to get to place like the beam, or better yet how bout this, make a seperate map that is kinda small where u type #Im feeling lucky or something and u get "beamed" there like #beam me up, in this place it is kinda like a lotery room with a storage and numbers and stuf where the winner is shouted out by the npc in public chat, tell me watcha think bout this idea =) (feel free to say its a bad idea or add onto it)

The NPC *is* in a simple and easy place to get to - even newbs go there to get their sigils - can't get much easier than that, can it?

I think thats you will get more people playing on a regular basis if you have more then one prize. (more chance to win even though it be a lower amount)

 

ie: 9million prize fund

 

First prize : 4 million.

 

10 runners up prizes of 500,000 or 20 at 250,000 etc

 

 

or if the prize fund varys each week then have the First prize 50% of the fund and the other 50% goes to lower prizes

 

 

100,000 prize fund

 

First Prize 50k

 

10 runners up at 5k

Must make a protest here against my Godlike Yankee Government and any other powers that seem to think the internet is theirs to regulate so far as gambling, pornography, and whatever lifestyle attributes we humans can come up with. The online universe is in and of itself and represents freedom in all forms of purity. We can trade, sell, gamble, ogle, talk, outrage, absorb, and all whatelse to our hearts content without regulation until the earth dies. It is up to individual content providers to do the regulation, not national governments.

An interesting thing is, there are rumors on the tubes of the net that soon the US government might classify even virtual lotteries like that as gambling, and attempt to regulate them and stuff.

And what concerns the lottery itself, maybe make 1 big price (lets say 40-70%), and redistribute the remaining money into smaller prices of 25-50k? (At least RL lotteries work this way)

Overall I think official EL lottery is a great idea Those who don't want to gamble may just not do it

Yeah, I was thinking of exactly that.

Now, I don't think it is wrong to pay taxes for the real money if you sell gold coins or items for dollars. We pay a lot of taxes for this, like any other business. But I don't think it's the government's business to regulate virtual economies. Because if they start doing that, then not only the lottery would be illegal, but also stuff like Tankel (there is a chance to fix or break the item), or enriched essences, or rostogol stones from harvesting, and even the combat, because pretty much everything in game is based partially on chance.
