C2? in the palm of our hands? doesnt make sense

Honestly, im new to this forum so i dont know if im allowed to say this, but ill try to avoid what you may consider bad. I know the location to C2. I will not give that away, for it may help some ppl with quests. The thing i am concerned with is how it is in such a random location. I would think traveling to another continent should take more work. My idea is one of two things.

First idea :

Have a large, bridge of some sort to the continent. This bridge would require vast amounts of minerals, logs, stone ( dont know if this is really a resource), etc including other building materials. Anyone could help with it, and it would slowly move towards the other continent. It would give all those higher lvl people who have tons of money and time something to do. They would help build it, and get workers to gather materials. The overall gain would be gold equivalent to how many materials you supplied (limited amount of materials able to add from one person). There would also be the added benefit of travel. The bridge could be a major trading highway where people would meet from one continent to the other. This is simply one of my two ideas.

Second idea:

My second idea is to have some sort of Boats that could take you across. When I say boats, i dont mean the auto-teleport boats. Im thinking there could be boats controlled by npcs(or players if its not too hard) that could ferry people across the ocean. Another thing is that the boats would actually be near the edge of the first continent, not in a random location on them. The boats would be semi-hard to reach to allow a bit of training for access to the new continent. I would enjoy player boats, because the possibilities are vast.

Both of these ideas are simply alternatives to the already existing entrance to C2. I just dont see how you travel under an Ocean, and to a port that leads to C2 through a short tunnel. I would like some feedback on these 2 ideas, for this is my first post on this forum :brooding:

From what I understand about how EL works I don't believe that either of these suggestions would work under the current system. As it is now the map and the objects on it besides players and creatures cannot move or appear/disappear at all. I hope that some time in the future this will change, but as it is now I don't believe that this idea could be implimented.

actually, it may be possible to do the boat thing... you get TPed to a boat map (enclosed, you probably can't go up on deck) if you talk to the transport NPC at the right time (I beleive NPCs could be capable of different responces based on time. if not, this won't work so well). like the first 10min of the hour

when on the boat you're free to do whatever, but you can only get off by talking to another NPC on the boat at a certain time. perhaps from :35 until oclock (wide time for getting off, since players might get called away, whatever)

just say that there's more than one boat that goes back and forth, and it can be beleivable that there's another one in the harbour

no cyclic map changes, just NPC reaction based on time

That's not quite correct. Take another look at the room with the NPC that gets you to C2... ;-)

Also, press tab after you are through the first tunnel and check your location (that one confused me too!!).

We had a thread going about this. I love the idea of taking time on ships, even the short trips inter-continent.
