Dont #reset

Dont #reset

if u dont know what u r doing...

Having heard a lot talking about resetting on channel 4 I have been bit worried about new players who are planning to #reset because some problems with their gameplay. Reset is maybe one of the most interesting and challenging features of the game but only if u know what it is about. And because im not much at all addicted to this game (?) I just decided to write down some remarks what I have done about it..:())

Reset is there for you to make it possible to get new balance with your pickpoint using and re-arrange your attributes. It is NOT same as new character because you wont lose your skills. But it sure is more comlicated thing than most maybe assume..

No sense to do #reset without getting prepared to it anyhow.

Also you should have a real reason to reset..not just "because I cant get xp"..meaning..if you dont know how you would change your stats after reset:Maybe good advice would be to first learn the basics of game even until oa 40 done. The you maybe know better what to do with reset. I resetted my main char after 1 month because of godless when my oa was 59..now after 5 months after reset bit more..:)

Main reasons to reset maybe are:

No sense in nexuses, perks or attributes which u have taken. For example if u have wanted to be a good human..u have taken 10 human nexuses in a row..;)

More common reasons are godless..which I think was told by tutorial NPC that it is for powergamers...but who the heck dont want to be a powergamer..;). Powergamer here doesnt mean powerwarrior...with gods u can get 20% add to your 3 skills..though it maybe changes sooner or later..

Also using most pps to physique and coordination makes you very "strong" but also makes training with monsters very boring becuase monster will just die soon and then u need to wait for next one..less xp due a lot idle time. It sure is good on pk-maps..but also there only if u fight with someone with same level as u..."an artic chimmy"- player will still cut u to pieces with 2 hits if not less..;)

Also need of etheral points now after cooldown can be a good reason to balance attributes.

And several other more or less accidental attributes which u have choosed..

Some negative perks also are better to take later when u know that you can handle it. Taking them later also gives advantage like reset..you can have additional pickpoints to handle a problem without reset. Some maybe can be taken already when starting after reset but its up to you.

How to prepare:

All nexuses, perks and attributes will be removed. And thats because your overall points will be removed, but only overall...skills will be the same after reset..also gods will stay if u dont "reset" them by taking godless..all books will stay as they were read, also quests wont reset.

And that means that after reset u can get your overall points backs much faster than new character. 20 first pickpoints need 40 000 points which can be made with for example mixing about 600 health essences..or doing whatever else with your other skills. So could say that first 30 pickpoints u can get back in an hour..if also some negative perks used. But this also doesnt mean that pickpoints will come that fast forever..maybe after oa 30 u again have to "fight" for your points..

So no need to worry about that u cant do anything after reset. But you can help your future if you do some things before u reset. Up to you resolve what those things would be ..but as a dummy hint..if u have inorganic nexus 5..harvest tons of diamonds so u dont need to have that nexus very soon..;)

So..if u "got it"..u sure will have alot to do before resetting..normally too much to complete everything because too greedy to do real #reset..

Just a warning..if u dont get prepared you will just soon be in same situation..and that sux..;)

FUN!:Before reset u can have some fun by taking all possible negative perks and so see how they work...but not "GODLESS"...omg..if u take it then u hate..someone..;).It sure will clean all your gods..dunno but suppose. With additional pps u can then help yourself somehow in your preparement work if wont just have fun with hellspawn...which sure should be the last perk to have fun with before new life.

Last things to do before "goodbye":

U can even take a full load of he ingredients to wraith when u reset and mix them near wraith..that way making maybe 7000 oa points.U can keep all your inv though your carry emu drops when u reset. But you cant drop them and then take back..so better use them.

Good advice maybe would also do the reset quarter to even hour so that u also can do douple harvest xp with veggies..even that gives already 12 pickpoints.

___________________________________________________________________________

Sooooo...thank you for listening...as u all see reset is just plain simple word to type and then press enter..or is it?...;)))

Im sorry but I didnt much check the typos and just wrote this "in row" without much thinking. But I hope u understand..

Please dont PM me if something important missing..this is not any kind of official guide but just sone notes of less addicted player...maybe just my imagination so I cant be prosecuted for this if you will find out after reset that u have hellspawn perk.."because u said so"..;)

I've reset many times.

I never had a problem with it. ;)

I find it kinda fun :)

Adds more excitement to the game, and makes it that bit more challenging. :(

Coming back from a reset when you have high levels isnt very easy, especially now with the cooldown. You can't mix 1k HE in an hour anymore. Also fighting is pretty difficult. Without some proper p/c to start off you will find it very hard. I had trouble staying alive at trolls at first, but because i have too much a/d for them i only get around 8 attack exp and 30 def exp. Fluffies are still too strong for me but cycs dont give very good experience. PvPing is the best option!

You're right here definately, since you're resetting ANYWAY you should get most of the negative perks (Hellspawn isn't nice though) and buff up your carrying capacity if you're loading up on ingrediants to alchemy your way out of OA zeroness.`

Just to put reset into perspective; if, for example, you reset between OA levels 20-100 (approximately), then it costs you effectively 10 pick points.

This is because, by the time you get back to your pre-resent OA level, you have earned enough experience that you would have made another 10 levels (approximately) had you stuck with it.

Be sure that the changes you intend to your character are worth this loss!

it depends..as myself I reseted when my oa was 59..so I "lost" 3 mil points. But now that 3 mil points is only worth 1 oa level. And if someone prepares enough well and for example makes all possible potions enough..then its possible to forget vegetal nexuses totally and benefit 5 pickpoints more. For me reason was godless..and gods have maybe given me about 7-10 mil oa after that(only Aluwen counted). But even without godless-reason its possible to get much better future..

Have the experience thresholds changed? Level 59 requires 3,295,374 xp. Regaining that would have given you 6,590,748 xp total without reset, which is level 69 -- the 10 pick point loss I describe.

Sorry but cant follow your logic at all. As I described I have got about 7 mil xp only by Aluwens god and also some with grafting (no more) and manu and magic (next most after Aluwen). SO..without reset I would have now maybe 10 mil points less and if I lost 3.5 (oa 59+++) that menas that I have now already 2 pickpoints more (103->105¨6mil) than I would have without reset. Also levelling would have been harder so even more advantage because of better balance of attributes (will 64..:) ). But as can be seen..its not easy to do neither to understand.

Maybe because of the cooldown update the winners are those who understand to reset and losers those who will ..not..and yes..I havent yet..:ppp..but I willll
