Latest CVS patch

Recommended Posts

Windows users download it from here: http://waiter.dineusonline.com/~dineus/el/el.exe

Linux 32 bits download from here: el.x86.linux.bin

Instructions: Close the client, and download it in the folder where you have the game.

If the swear filter is disabled, please enable it.

Let us know about any bugs or issues.

Other OSes: just get the latest CVS, and compile the binary yourself, or get it from a friend that managed to compile it.

This is a test for a new update that will fix some of the bugs of this update. If this patch works, we'll update again in a few days.

[edit]

I modified it, so if you tried it before and it didn't work, please try again.

You might want to backup the old client first though...

And you didn't play with the perspective values at all, huh?

197953[/snapback]

The perspective was at 0.80, as I've had it. I restarted with it at 0.79, which seems to be the new highest, and got the same, I restarted with the Isometric view on, and it's the same. Unless I'm misunderstanding something?

I told you that I will ban you from the forums if you ever mention that word like that, right?

The color of the active and inactive chat messages behaves strange. Sometimes the active ones are white, inactive ones grey, sometimes are all white, sometimes the active ones are grey and the inactive ones are white.

This happens after playing a little bit with #jc.

If you have problems, please download [new ini file]

Didn't help. I still can't see myself or any other non-static items. There's something amiss with this patch.

I downloaded the new ini and modified it a bit to work with my graphics card. I tried it and it worked like before but then i went into the options window and turned on shadow mapping. When I did that the avatar appeared along with the 3d objects. The problem is that there are large white blocks on the ground. This is probably because my card is too old to draw shadow maps correctly.

I hate to be a party pooper here but my client works perfectly except when i alter video settings in options.. then the <alt gr> doesn't work but other than that and some few map bugs.. it's all perfect. but i also have a new carte graphique.

OK, I'm still having problems with being invisible. I can be more specific as to when it seems to work OK and when no.

Seems OK:

* Inside places (at least caves).

* In the rain.

* At night.

Seems to fail:

* During the day, outside, in clear weather.

I'll try the new patched client during a few more of the above OK cases to try and confirm.

Also, based on some stuff I saw, it's possible the "fadded items" post is related to this problem (but happening in a cave for the pictures I saw).

Well, that blows the above theory. It was raining in WS so I switched to the patched client to see what would happen. I was invisible (not what I expected). That was: daytime, in the rain.

It was interesting that the rain was invisible also, but the fog was still present.
