gilthanas Report post Posted September 5, 2005 (not sure how hard this would be to do) why cant we make animals actually be born and die? example: deer spawns as baby, no one attacks it so it gets older and harder to kill, and after a long while the deer dies of old age. behindthemask08 Report post Posted September 5, 2005 would it take like 3 hours(ingame) to grow from baby to old animal, or more like 2 weeks(ingame of course)? Also, would the animls give birth often? or would it take at least a week(to be realistic)? this would majorly alow down fighters becuz less things to fight, or babies with no experience. trollson Report post Posted September 5, 2005 (not sure how hard this would be to do) why cant we make animals actually be born and die? Probably not hard, but a fair amount of work. There would need to be 3D models for each life-stage of each creature (at a minimum young, adult, old), so thats 3 times the number of animal models currently in the game. cedox Report post Posted September 5, 2005 Maybe just scale the the model and add scalable horns(whatever they are) for deer. Hardest part in that would be gluing the pivot point of the horns in right place of head for movements. - Cedox

trollson Report post Posted September 5, 2005 On the other hand, if the value of the creature (in experience and drops) increased as it grew older, maybe fighers would hold off attacking the younger versions of their own accord?

70347 Report post Posted September 5, 2005 I know Ent was going to do something like this with plants in barren moon but I would like to see this in EL too. Would be cool if fighters were forced to let at least some of the creatures reach maturity by making new creatures only spawn when another of the same creature reaches maturity. (They have babies) In this way it would be possible to hunt creatures to extinction. (Not forever, maybe they move there from another map in a few ingame days but for that time no one can use the spawn since they were careless in their hunt practices)

(dont want it to take too long)
