Arnieman Report post Posted August 19, 2005 only reason I figured out the date I joined is by finding the original install file I'd downloaded for v1.0.0, marked 1/25/05 (or for you Europeans, 25/01/05). Sometimes packrat-ism helps... But, yeah, adding to what ttlanhil said, trying to remember key events in RL/EL, or other major players you may have interacted with, or other details may help you at least get a general idea of about when it was. ttlanhil Report post Posted August 20, 2005 or for you Europeans, 25/01/05189177 ahem. doing it with the middle first(*) is an americanism, don't make it sound like what's done there is normal but yeah, better to use the international format where possible, no confusion then (*) which probably arose out of saying 'jan 3rd' instead of '3rd of jan', as a form of laziness. and the international standard date format is yyyy-mm-dd (yes, with dashes). note it's like the time format. big, middle, small
Aislinn Report post Posted August 20, 2005 Would it even be possible anymore to have a server record of the older people when they first joined? I mean older in terms of gameplay of course, for the people who were here before the crash and before we changed servers...
Arnieman Report post Posted August 21, 2005 ahem. doing it with the middle first(*) is an americanism, don't make it sound like what's done there is normal 189387 Well, it's normal to me, you all are the wierd ones. but yeah, better to use the international format where possible, no confusion then (*) which probably arose out of saying 'jan 3rd' instead of '3rd of jan', as a form of laziness. and the international standard date format is yyyy-mm-dd (yes, with dashes). note it's like the time format. big, middle, small 189387 hmm, yyyy-mm-dd.... so none of us are right, but we're closer! (ok, jk with all the American "we're right" stereotyping. The only reason this even came up was because I mentioned the way I write the date, then I thought, "The rest of the world might think me odd to have started playing on the first day of the twenty-fifth month.") (on another note, checking the date again, it was 24-Jan, not 25... why did I type 25?)

Tropicano Report post Posted August 25, 2005 Try this: Toss a frying pan up in the air, watch it closely as it falls to the ground. Now step on it, but genly - or it might break. This will give you a tossed frying pan who someone apparently stepped on.. wont really help you realize the exact join date, but its always something.. Up till now I just went by the forum, but didn't know for sure. Thx to Arnieman I know for sure it was 2004-5-13 (made sure it was in correct international form). Hadodej Report post Posted August 26, 2005 Should I put some oil in the pan before I toss it? So basically No way to found out.. right? I shall never know my age...
Arnieman Report post Posted August 26, 2005 Should I put some oil in the pan before I toss it? 190988 yes, works better if you heat the oil to boiling, and then launch it. Stand directly under it while you throw it... No, don't do that unless you are a severe masochist... So basically No way to found out.. right? I shall never know my age... 190988 Pretty much, unless the game has a record of when it was, and someone that can read that stuff tells you. freeone3000 Report post Posted August 28, 2005 (edited) Could just have a php script writing the current date on the page when it's first created. Course, this wouldn't do anything for the current members, but would add it for new ones. Edited August 28, 2005 by freeone3000
