Url Catcher

I found that the URL catcher works only on 'www.' and 'http://', when someone posted a 'https://' URL.

I went looking through the code, found it, and tried to figure it out. I was going to make a modification, make a diff, and send that (without testing, because it would be an unapproved modification) but after looking a while, I decided I wasn't sure enough I'd be able to do it safely.

 

So, would someone be able to adjust it to deal with https, maybe ftp, any other protocols you think appropriate?

 

( maybe even a generic type thing that works with all protocols, assuming they use name://some.address.with.a.pediod )
