Health-Bar Display

Recommended Posts

As a minor refinement to the user interface, I suggest that a third display mode be added for the health bars. If I'm not fighting, I don't really care if players are limping back from Hell with just a bit of red, but I do care about me! You never know when a collapsed wall may place me on the verge of death, and that indication in my character's health bar is attention getting. It would be important to still make available a mode in which no health bars are displayed (for pictures and so forth).

SO I suggest that Alt-H toggle between:

* Every character has health bars

* Only your character has a health bar

* No character has a health bar

You can see your own health in the hud.

wow. laconic yet right on the money. I am not sure if this is a complete sentence or not but it certaintly put an end to this suggestion

I would have to go with this suggestion a downgrade aka no. You have the life bar on the bottom of the screen, that should be good enough.

"Your Drunk!"

"No, I have a hangover. That means i was drunk yesterday."

"Dude, you have a disease!"

:P I for one like this idea, and I don't think it would be so hard to program another alt+H option. And, being that it ought to be easy to implement AND it would help *some* players, I ask, why not?

;) I'd like to see this, and the same for Alt+B health bar option. It seems to me that you generally focus on your character more than on your hud when fighting.

While we're at it, an option to turn off guild tags using another mode of alt-n would be good. Sometimes, I just like to see names, not guilds.

When I'm fighting (and not Pking) I generally have my inv magic and manu windows all over the screen... so, I'm often looking at my hud to see how much MP/EP I have left ;P

on a side note, extra mana potions should look diffrent... I can only imagine how many of those I've drank by mistake while killing fluffs..

:) Eh, admittedly I'm a lil strapped for time with the projects I do have going, so you got me there, Leeloo.

:D Well, Ryuu, you do well at refuting my theory. Which is why I think it should be an option that one can turn on or off, rather than forcing this change on people like you, who prefer using the hud.

Actually ryuu is right, I almost always look at my health bar that is in the hud because most of the time my healthbar over my character is blocked by the monster/character I'm training on/with. Many times the 2 healthbars overlap or get blocked by other things on the screen. Plus I am looking at my hud to see how much my food level is at, how much experience I'm getting...

So I would have to say imho (in fighter mode) why bother, when it's right there where we are looking anyway. And if you aren't a fighter, there is no crucial emergency need to see your health bar fast. I don't think :)
