teranoz Report post Posted January 13, 2005 Lol Remembering those days a pc with a harddisk was the newest stuff you could get...... a whole 10 Megabites. An internal memory of 256 kilobytes. Eat that, commodore and ZX-spectrum guys. No way that would ever get full. Costed about 7000 Euros all together (ok, it was paid in Dutch Guilders)
70347 Report post Posted January 15, 2005 The oldest computer that I have is 13 years old now. I don't use it at all but I think it will still run. If I remember correctly, it has a 66 Mhz processor. It was fast at the time. It has one of those large floppy drives whose dimensions I can't remember and I think I actually have some of that size still... Had Windows 3.1 on it. Microsoft wasn't as evil back then... It did have a hardrive, but I cant remember how big it was. Used it for 3 or 4 years IIRC.

Anyway, at the moment the 486 is a t the other side of the Atlantic, so I can't reach it, but I'll give it a try when I get back
Wytter Report post Posted January 20, 2005 It's GPL so feel free to improve it, but I'd prefer that the community gets it back - I just don't have the time to maintain it (especially since I'll be in the army in 10 days)
Soldus Report post Posted January 20, 2005 first "real" computer: 486 DX 33, 4 MB RAM, later upgraded to 8 (!!!) MB and as asswhopping 1024 kB GFX card !!! the 40 MB HDD was reason for geeks from allover town to drop by and "say hello..." i'm not entirely sure anymore, but iirc those additional 4 MBs cost more than this 2.6 Ghz Notebook with 1400er display

What the hell do you want in the army? Don't you have better stuff to do, like...ehm..developing EL?
