Id think you need to unistall the client then re download from http://www.eternal-lands.com/page/download.php You DONT need to download the update, as the version in the pervious link is the full latest version 1.8

Please note that it seems the UK mirror site is down currently, so try the french or german site to down load it

Try updating your drivers on the pc it isnt working on. Some specs would be helpful and error logs

Try updating the card drivers (if there are any to update) If not dd suggest going to options (at the name entry screen) and changing the settings, enabling poorman and seeing if it works can help)

Thank you for responding, Now i know Im still surprised, but not completly. However i still cant see anything about an age in the license that comes when you install the game, or from the webpage version of it, suppose it doesnt really matter anyways.

Nope nothing in the license regarding age of play, (but yes the licence is funny amused me for ages and covers everything else including not being liable if you murder you cat cause you did it in game )

I admit that i should have quoted that particular post previously >.< Isnt it your repsonisibility to protect Children from elements in your own game? Id be surprised if it isnt, with all of the laws and regulations and stuff that is made and set up. As far as i know EL doesnt have any sort of age restriction or even a guidline anywhere i can see (main webpage or in game.) id think that even a simple statement that this game is not suitible for those under 12/13/106 w/e you think is the appropriate age for players. This acts as a guide for parents (those that bother anyways). Just a simple disclaimer. Either way just a thought and question as the subject is at hand. But just to reiterate after reading a lot of other comments parts of my previous post seem to have been forgotten Ill stfu now, as im apparently a bad parent trying to find excuses for my bad parenting. I have to dissagree.... Children need to hear this stuff lots. Yes it annoys them but then they remember it. Safety is important, they are young and they need our protection, they dont have enough experiance to make thier own decisions. It is the role of parents and society to keep them informed id rather the gourvement spent money protecting and educating the vulnerable elements of society than spending all that money on a hammer or new carpets for thier office, or so they can pay thier second mortgage... Yes parents are resposible for educating thier children. Speaking of which ill ensure my daughter doesnt read this thread >.< Ill also like to say if someone thinks the safety of children isnt important, or that the efforts of those trying to stop the countless deaths/kidnaps/and cases of molestation that is ripe with in our society doesnt need to be addressed or that it is a waste of time becasue they are dumb assed kids then i have to think there is something wrong with that person.

Well if Eternal lands is such an important part of your life, perhaps you can explain why you made such a fuss in channel 44. breaking numerous rules and even logging in other characters to continue the harrasment foul language and abuse? As far as im concerned you can stick to the new character keep your nose clean and all will be good in the world we all love so much.

Have you updated your video card drivers since reinstalling XP? If the game worked fine before id guess that would be the sticky wicket.

Sure you can.... but do not share that character, or trade with others on your ip with it.

That usually happens when you change video mode, or enter leave full screen

The sound download works fine O.o Just remembered something: You have to have pop ups enabled to down load the sound files from the site (usually you can click the top of your browser to temporarily enable it) If you are having troubles installing sounds check the following Open /program files/eternal lands Check to see you have unzipped it into there, there will be a folder called sound...open it and make sure the sound files are in there and not in a subdirectory called sound Remember the key things You have unzipped it into the eternal lands folder in Program files not in my documents.
