  1. Many players pursue fighting. Whether a CoL is 60k, 80k, or 100k, a fighter will likely still buy one. A top Crafter or Manufacturer may have more insight and a less biased view of supply, demand, and the market in general than one of many fighters, trying to dump monster drops for a quick sale. To say a player's opinion should be weighed more heavily because of the skills s/he chooses to pursue is rather ignorant. The suggestion about revised quests is good - why not brainstorm some ideas, and make a more formal suggestion? The much loved Novac quests stemmed from a suggestion, for instance. Hmmmm i wonder who this is directed at?? Actually the only place you get to decide what is or isn't my right to say is on these forums or in-game. In the rest of the whole big wide world I do have the right to say whatever I like. Free speech ftw? I think the "right" referred to here is a moral one, rather than legal. Yes, you have a legal right to free speech. That still doesn't always make it a good idea to exercise it. My humble suggestion to players who do little more than stick around to complain how much everything in EL sucks, is to actively improve the situation in EL, or shut up about it. AFAIK, you are working on your own server, Korrode. If everything is perfect there, why stick around here to complain? It's like living in a castle and driving to somebody's house in the ghetto to laugh at things which look cheap. Get off your high horse already.
  2. If you choose to buy all ingredients, then yes, it is difficult to obtain a profit. If there were a substantial profit to be made from clicking the mix button once, I assure you, more players would do the same until market price plummeted down to the cost of ingredients (or less, given the players' valuation of the received manufacturing experience). It's simple game theory. You lose all competitive advantage by buying the ingredients. What you consider a loss is made up by others in terms of opportunity cost, rather than actual gc (or $) expenditure. Long ago, there were only a few top manufacturers who could collude to keep prices inclusive of some profit. With such a relatively small barrier to entry nowadays, and so many high level manufacturers, each player has incentive to undercut the next. Moving back toward the topic at hand, you can perhaps spend some time on Isla Prima offering weapons and armor which are not produced at a loss (those under the iron greaves you mentioned) to new players in exchange for some items you need, such as fire essences or iron ore. If 10 extra new players are added to EL each day as a result of your efforts, that is a lot of potential resources (both rare and ordinary) entering the game. These same players will want to buy armor as well. Suddenly, some time spent on Isla Prima drives your manufacturing business and helps EL as a whole. This is time far better spent than wasting time making the same complaints time and time again that nobody buys your armor.
  3. There are some problems with the ideas of people who claim to help newbs. New players should be helped by players who want to share their positive experiences with others, not players who are so greedy that they need a promise of free/rare st00f to help and encourage new players.
  4. Phoenix

Typical base material points for a PKer: 130. 10% extra hp per level --> 14 (max level) * 13 (10% of 130) = 182. Total mat pts for a typical fighter's fully leveled phoenix: 130+182 = 312 Once the feature is fixed, Phoenix would be able to indefinitely sustain magic immunity (unless MI wards are used). 312 mat pts in PK without the ability to restore is still not all that much, but it's not likely instant death. A Phoenix would be a sitting duck alone, but could theoretically serve as a tank. In a non-PK environment (PVE), the susceptibility to harm would not be an issue. Rather, just a question of whether players can heal it fast enough.
  5. Pin Poll

The AP pots are a gc sink, but when compared to the 525k+gc players pay for a nexus, or ~1M gc for a bought pickpoint, 900kgc (assuming 0 reconstructed) for max AP isn't so ridiculous. I'd rather see some more emphasis put on the ranging perks and ranging levels instead of the AP pots. I've gone afk in the middle of solo ranging a pinned dragon before... it's just 'wrong', imo. As a previous post touched upon, someone at range level 10 shouldn't be able to simply and singlehandedly kill one of the strongest creatures in the game, without risk of life or limb (following pinning). Range level: 33 (no plans to level further) 0 AP; no range perks, no intention to take them
  6. Server Disconnected

Try logging on to Rock_91 again. Go into server options (Ctrl-O > Server) and make sure the following two items are unselected: [ ] Custom Looks Updates [ ] Show Custom clothing Type #save and log off. Then try logging back onto rahulmitra.
  7. Server Disconnected

This is the error log from when you (successfully) logged on as Anger. Try logging on as rahulmitra, then posting that error log instead. You were not crashing with Anger, nor with Rock_91, even in the same location (DP Storage) where your main (rahulmitra) was crashing.
  8. GodZ spawn serper

Nobody owns a spawn, blah blah blah, etc. Settle it in PK. No reason to have post serping instead.
  9. Phoenix

Casting MI again (not while polymorphed) will also clear the icon (90 seconds after).
  10. Phoenix

Although this all looks well and good on paper, can anyone give me an example of a situation where the phoenix would actually be useful to transform into? (other than for looks/posing) Can you summon and cast offensive magic while a phoenix? I'm not sure about summons. No magic can be cast while polymorphed. No. Correct. I presume 3 would be in attack levels, not a percentage. 2,4 would seemingly obviously be percentages.
  11. Phoenix

    Yes.
  12. Auction 1Kfeasting potions

chejo don't give him 15Kgc for 1K feasting. PM me in game and I will get you some at NPC. We have such things as private messages, or you can create your own thread. Don't hijack someone else's.
  13. Auction 1Kfeasting potions

That's a buy-it-now price, and the duration of the auction is only 24 hours anyhow. If you don't like the price, don't bid. No reason to whine. There is already a valid bid, indicating the starting price is not unreasonable.
  14. 50k HE Auction

I'll start things off at 350k.
  15. pro instances

I think his idea is to remove the MM removal as a drop option, to make the other drop choices more likely. There is some sort of drop every time (even if just extra gc). With that said, these items are all priced on the open market. I'm sure the original poster had no qualms about selling these very same MM removal stones at 400kgc when they were first introduced. If instances are less worthwhile to farm because the drops are too low, then the supply of items such as red dragon helms of life & mana will drop. Then instead of dumping them off at 10kgc less each week, perhaps the price would increase. I like to participate in the instances. Watching the very same person driving down selling prices of the drops and simultaneously driving UP prices on other items such as nexus removals (e.g. bot buying at 450k, reselling at 575k), and then complaining about the very same drops...is bothersome, to say the least.
  16. Auctioning two shop coupons

"5% Cupon - Can be redeemed at the EL shop, only for purchases between 30 to 100 USD" Starting bid: 20kgc BIN: 38kgc Duration: ~1 week Gone. "Bot Blessing Cupon - Get two bot blessings for only 160 bucks (20% off)" Given that the market for this coupon will be limited, I will keep this coupon available for offers from players planning to buy bot blessings. As an alternative, I will donate this coupon to a shop buyer who in turn donates half of the savings (so $20 on top of the $160 purchase) to the EL shop. My intention with each of these items is to stimulate shop purchases, rather than to grease the palms of various resellers until the coupons themselves are completely worthless to those players financially supporting EL. I reserve the right to reject any and all bids from bidders who will not personally use these coupons for EL shop purchases.
  17. New weapon types

For starters, this idea has been suggested many, many times (and obviously turned down). Secondly, what would be the point of these weapons? Nobody would want to use them in any situation, that I can think of. How would holding 2 swords increase accuracy? I could perhaps understand high damage, but the ingredients and stats seem completely random. There is no point in creating such a detailed breakdown of ingredients, when there is no basis whatsoever on which they are selected. I don't think it is possible to strike twice per attack. This would take two rounds of combat. If the weapon strikes twice per combat, just double the damage. Once again, why would anyone ever use this weapon??
  18. Interest(ing)

This is an interesting concept, however I doubt anybody would want to go find an NPC to drop off 3000 gc for a year in order to earn 60gc (2%) interest. Even depositing 1M gc would only net 20k gc in interest. The interest would have to be compounded far more often than annually for this to be worthwhile for any player. With that said, if the odds are that players will earn interest at a greater rate than a bank robber would rob it, the end result would be inflation. I briefly thought of something like a CD as an alternative, (e.g. an NPC which paid out 1% monthly, but charged a 2% fee if you need to take out your gc before a 1 month period) but it wouldn't work well either. This idea would be counterproductive to the EL market, as consumers with spare gc will often buy luxury items from other players vs. saving up gc to earn even more interest. Liquidity is not something richer players would tend to care about.
  19. CHEAP SIGGYS

Also, this is the MARKET forum. Some players may not a very involved signature. To say "z0mg, my siggy is better than yours" or "that signature isn't worth 10k or 1.75k" is idiotic at best. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Some players may just want a less involved signature, without all the bells & whistles.

  21. booted

I regret to inform you that we're not here waiting to instantaneously respond to forum posts. You will be answered in a reasonable amount of time, most likely by the moderator who locked your character. Complaining that z0mg nobody answered you within 75 minutes will not expedite a positive response.
  22. FCW respawn

The legionnaire orc offers better exp per hour than most other monsters for higher level players, however if your concern is about reaching caps, why not figure out how many hours of training it would take someone to reach the cap? Someone at 110-120s a/d earning even 200k/h will earn a/d levels a lot faster than someone on Legionnaire orcs at 400k/h. If you're truly concerned about so many high level a/d'ers gaining exp too fast, get rid of the "double" LOrc spawns. I don't think the single spawns are any cause for concern. I can suggest two spawn points (still in line with the storyline) which would eliminate the idea of a double spawn there.
