  1. Selling Magic Weapons

I hate to do this, but in the interest of upgrading to a pinker, shinier sword, I'm putting the following magic weapons up for sale. Tit Long of Thermal: 238k gc Tit Long of Ice: 178k ***Steel Two Edged Sword of Fire: 85k*** -- SOLD ***Steel Two Edged Sword of Ice: 88k*** -- SOLD Steel Two Edged Sword of Magic: 98k ***Steel Two Edged Sword of Thermal: 148k*** -- TRADED ***Steel Long Sword of Magic: 77K*** -- SOLD *(I also have about 40 ELE for sale.) * -- ON HOLD (Pending transaction) I am also open to (mostly cash) offers. (Chatterbug, I'm antisocial, so thanks but no thanks for the lilacs )
  2. Selling Magic Weapons

Steel Long of Magic is now sold.
  3. Selling Magic Weapons

2M? Nah, he spent it all summoning hookers
  4. Selling Magic Weapons

S2E of Fire is now sold.
  5. Selling Magic Weapons

I'd just like to remind everyone that I'm open to offers (via post, forum pm, or in-game pm). I don't want to change my posted prices to engage in a price war, however my pricing will remain competitive.
  6. Selling Magic Weapons

S2E of Ice is now sold.
  7. Selling Magic Weapons

    Lower prices now in effect
  8. evil_slayer

evil_slayer walked to my spawn in Carmien Manor, and shamelessly jumped on and emptied a bag of items (drops) I had sitting there. I asked him to please return the items, to which he replied "why?" The items taken were a few rare books, and he has been booted from his (now former ) guild for his actions. I suppose this post should serve to warn others about their items, and other guilds to please not accept this bagjumper. -asgnny
  9. The Terrible mr. g

It works for me, just took a few minutes to load. I can't wait for the remix with "smeg" dubbed in over most of the words
  10. Guild Owned NPCs (merchants)

The market channel is typically flooded with complaints about players undercutting one another. Having a virtual mall of NPC's would likely cause each guild to undercut the next. With guild-owned bots as they are currently, there is a certain profit from arbitrage. For example, it would cost me less to pay a bot 1000 gc on Irillion for a steel chain when there is another bot on Seridia selling the same item for 800. Eliminating the convenience factor makes each item sold a pure commodity, and barring collusion among all 10 guilds renting NPC's at a given time, pricing could not hold up. Each guild has an incentive to beat the other guilds' pricing (a simple game theory problem). Creating a virtual mall would put the small guilds (or those not focused on creating items) out of business, essentially, much as Wal-Mart is reknowned for doing to small "Mom and Pop" stores.
  11. Problems with the update

The error log should appear here: ~/.elc/error_log.txt
  12. Problems with the update

The maps work fine for me with the latest linux release.
  13. One potential problem is that this would eliminate risk during leveling. If someone is borderline able to create high-level weapons/armor, there is the risk (and cost) associated with failing. If there were a limit to the items which could be tried (i.e. perhaps leather items only, or simply nothing using enriched essences), I'd imagine the idea could work. Edit: SisteMa types faster than I (redundant idea removed).
  14. Havok

Havok, from the HOLY guild was trying to make me drop my cuisses in a bag, and for him to do the same with his supposed thermal serp. Obviously I didn't, but this was an attempted scam.
  15. Copy & Paste in Linux

I have similar copy/paste issues in fluxbox both under gentoo and ubuntu (debian) on two completely different computers. I don't seem to be able to highlight text within EL, either.
  16. I keep getting the following error while trying to start EL: el.x86.linux.bin: error while loading shared libraries: libGL.so.1: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory Pertinent system info: Athlon 64 3200+ 1 GB DDR RAM Ubuntu Linux 5.10 ("Breezy Badger") Nvidia PCX 5750 Following are instances of "libGL.so.1" with details. lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 17 2005-11-22 23:10 /usr/lib/libGL.so.1 -> libGL.so.1.0.7667* -rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 690K 2005-11-22 23:10 /usr/lib/libGL.so.1.0.7667* lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 12 2005-11-22 00:56 /usr/lib32/i686/mmx/cmov/libGL.so.1 -> libGL.so.1.2 -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 394K 2005-08-30 01:45 /usr/lib32/i686/mmx/cmov/libGL.so.1.2 lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 12 2005-11-22 00:56 /usr/lib32/i686/mmx/cmov/libGL.so.1 -> libGL.so.1.2 -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 399K 2005-08-30 01:45 /usr/lib32/nvidia/libGL.so.1.2.xlibmesa lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 12 2005-11-22 00:56 /usr/lib32/nvidia/libGL.so.1.xlibmesa -> libGL.so.1.2 lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 17 2005-11-22 23:10 /emul/ia32-linux/usr/lib/libGL.so.1 -> libGL.so.1.0.7667* -rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 507K 2005-11-22 23:10 /emul/ia32-linux/usr/lib/libGL.so.1.0.7667* Edit: I doubt this will help much, but here is my EL error log: Log started at 2005-11-22 11:22:36 Could not read console.xml Could not read errors.xml Could not read help.xml Could not read options.xml Could not read spells.xml Could not read stats.xml Could not read titles.xml Error: Can't open file "./textures/font.bmp" Error: Can't open file "./textures/fontv.bmp" Error: Can't open file "./textures/font2.bmp" Error: Can't open file "./textures/font3.bmp" Error: Can't open file "mapinfo.lst" Error: Can't open file "./textures/login_back.bmp" </edit> Please help, I want to come back! Edit 2: A friend of mine was able to fix the first error by putting the correct files in the hard-coded directories in which EL needs them to be. I'm now having a similar problem, as follows: /el.x86.linux.bin: error while loading shared libraries: libXxf86vm.so.1: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 30 2005-11-23 18:55 libXxf86vm.so.1 -> /usr/lib32/libXxf86vm.so.1.0.0 -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 20K 2005-07-24 08:46 libXxf86vm.so.1.0.0 As far as I understand, the file it's looking for is in the correct spot, so yet again, I am stuck.
  17. GAME LOCKS UP

Much of this won't apply as, for better or worse, my old computer decided to die last week, but I had been getting similar lockups in Gentoo Linux (X-windows) with a P-4 2.4Ghz, 512MB, 60GB, ATi Radeon Mobility 7500 32mb, Cable, all EL versions, though moreso with 1.1.1 and 1.1.2. CPU usage went to 100% between EL and OS, keyboard became unresponsive. SSH'ing in from another pc was doable, but I could not terminate X, which was using 100% of my CPU, less overhead. I also had the same "could not find/no anim" errors as snosrap, save the quest_log one. I'm not sure if this will help solve the problem, but hopefully a completely new computer will magically fix it all Let me know if I can be of any help in trying to establish exactly what the problem is, but, since my computer is now history, don't bother trying to troubleshoot my particular setup. I hope to be back up & running in a week or so. -asgnny
  18. UTi & *CO* break all ties

I'd just like to mention that also due to the actions of Crus, HIM will happily parttake in ripping apart *CO* members. ::reminisces the coining of the word *COwards* in the TG Sewers:: That's right... run and hide.
  19. albator

albator bagjumped a death bag in SKF while being returned to its owner. Keep an eye out for your bags if you see him around.
  20. Since installing the latest patch (I think this one was to fix the packet loss problem, by which I was never affected) it now takes me either one or sometimes 15 seconds between maps. If I go back & forth between the same two maps. This could prove to be problematic while entering pk maps, as I'd have a 10 second period in which I cannot do anything. I tried typing "#ping" over and over to see if it was lag, but it doesn't register at all. Has anyone else encountered this? (I'm running linux on a P-4 2.4GHz with a 32MB ATi Radeon Mobility 7500 (M7)) Edit: I was having some other problems (such as not being able to open my votd mini-map whereas I had been able to even after this problem in between maps) and restarted the client, both problems seem to have subsided for now.
  21. Graphics bugs (linux)

I'm having these same exact issues with my radeon mobility 7500 in gentoo with x.org drivers (no official ATI ones exist. The graphics for the players and animals are incredible otherwise ... Bring 'em on
  22. Update Info

Mmm.... storage slots Thanks to all the devs for your continued work. Oh, and to second trollson's question, I'm also wondering about the gentoo e-build Thanks!
