First, I would like to disclaimer this by saying I did not search to see if a thread like this has already been posted, so I apologize if this is redundant.
That said, I have a problem.
I am the newly instated owner of a guild, the Knights of Justice (formerly the Knights of the Round Table, tag ~JC~). Currently, my guild is listed as having 32 members. Since I have joined this guild, (maybe a month ago?) I still have yet to be introduced to 32 distinct individuals who bear the guild tag. Currently, by my count, there's hardly more than a half dozen active users in the guild.
While the above is frustrating, that's not entirely the problem.
Along with this guild changing hands, there have been many losses and many radical changes are in progress. Meanwhile, there apparently still remain some problem members that show up ocasionally, who have been reported in the past to the previous guild owner, but have not been kicked from the guild yet because a co-captain or owner has rarely if ever been online at the same time as these people. Furthermore, there are some guild members who have pending rank changes that have not been executed due to the sole fact that they are rarely online at the same time as me.
Solution?
We need a way to be able to perform administrative actions on guild members when they are not online. What particular programming this may require, I do not know. What I do know is that the following would greatly assist all current (and future) guild owners:
A command to list all currently joined guild members, and their ranks.
A command to see which of the above members is online.
A command or at-login notification to show all pending membership approvals.
Ability to perform #accept, #remove, #change_rank, and #change_owner on offline individuals.
A command to "reset" the guild. That is, remove all current members except for the owner. This would be similar to destroying and re-creating a guild to clean out inactive members, but without all the hassle.
Given the current way that guilds are formed and administrated, I can tell this may take a complete re-work of the guild system. This could take quite some time, and I am fully aware of that. I would just like to see this on the drawing board, since the current system - although it works - leaves guild owners severely crippled when it comes to dealing with problems with a user(s) that is offline.
[EDIT]
And *now* I read the sticky to-do list.
Sorry about that.
It does appear though that some things mentioned above aren't particularly already planned, so anyone have any comments on this?
I will understand if a mod feels this topic should be locked due to redundancy.
