  1. Gloves

i know this is how it currently is, and i know it'd take more equip slots, but it'd be nice to be able to wear gloves as well as hold something. even if they were weapons only and the shield was strapped to the arm, or whatever, it's still realistic... yes, i know, asking for more equip slots could get trouble because people will want more and more
  2. At the moment, the rules list that you get with F5 can be clicked on to expand a topic... but it doesn't say that, you don't find out until someone tells you, or you experiement might help to have a note at the top to say you can get more details also, the scrolling only works with the up and down button, not the scrollbar area, making this work might make it a little more user friendly not sure if this is already done in development version, if so, just ignore
  3. Players On Same Computer?

it solves the problem of both having a computer at once. and as long as multiple players from the same IP are declared (elsewhere in forum) this should be fine
  4. Players On Same Computer?

err... <_< US$20 fine for a yeah... pay up! yeah, that's it...
  5. Ideas For Maps

when told to go to certain co-ordinates, having the mouse say where it is is even more useful than the location of the destination cross. so this is probably enough to cover it, though it'd be good to have a note about this when there's some serious documentation with the client
  6. Ideas For Maps

yeah, a curently at: X,Y Going to: X,Y would work... though if you have mouse co-ords, it's not that hard to get both
  7. Remote Heal For The Non-magical

And more to the point, wanderingfool is what made me think of this, but it's far from the only advantage, just see my post on healers in a large battle to find out how besides, wanderingfool tells me where the joker is, and i can get free stuff! that's influence! <ed> or healing guildmates without needing magic, too this works better with the healing scroll than potion, otherwise you could give it to them, but this would also mean you're assured of getting the vial back, which is usually a condition when someone gets a healing potion ingame
  8. or even have it late in a line of quests, so it may not be too hard, but it will take a lot of work, mostly gophering (go fetch) probably, as that's the easiest, but like this you can make it take a long time without people getting too frustrated. some of the god quests (defence, at least, i've only done 2 to level 7, crafting only has 6, grr) have things you can do only after the final stage, so that sort of thing is already added
  9. Remote Heal For The Non-magical

scrolls sounds good too, and a little more realistic... after all, it's easier to read something near a person than force them to drink  oh, plus, this sort of non magical remote heal would be useful in a lot of cases, and if it were easier than the current system (a hotkey for re-cast same spell, or remote heal only cast once and then each time you use-click someone it does te heal, perhaps?) then the idea of a priest/healer type in a fighting party starts to work, currently click cast, click person, especially if they're moving, makes it harder for this sort of combat assistance to happen with better healing and combat magics, we have the potential for large scale fighting with multiple aspects, not just what one person can do
  10. Or as an alternative to getting PP, you could gain a pre-assigned PP, eg get +1 to charm or whichever, as appropriate to the skill there's one issue here though this needs to either be +1 to the base (ie after rest it will be 5, not 4) or the quest gets reset with a #reset as well. this can be gone, just a gotcha 8^)
  11. well, charm is supposed to be used for future quests, according to the description, so that's why that gets picked on. currently the different primary stat types aren't balanced because the first two do a lot for you, the second two are hlpeful, but not as much, and the last two aren't a lot of help at all when things like charm are used, it help balance stats, and hopefully the game
  12. Quest Proposals

have done 3, sort of, and will continue to do 4, will look at 2 as well as to 1, does working up a story ourselves, provided it doesn't conflict with anyone else's posted, work, or would we be better off working from other people's stories a little/lot?
  13. Quest Proposals

okay, do you know if it's worth our time to write up quests? or are there enough ideas already that are in the queue that it would take a long time before they're added?
  14. Quest Proposals

as in adding the code, or storyline? the story part we can do, along with the convos and all <ed> if the conversations are stored in a seperate file, i can even try to work that into whatever format is used, if not, i can provide the conversation and a tree for its use
  15. Players On Same Computer?

if i recall right, it's US$20 for a year, or US$50 for life... and i imagine you pay the same as listed at the end of Eternal Lands Shopping <edit> fixed a typo... US$20 for a yeah heh
  16. Players On Same Computer?

at the moment, the only way to trade is if both characters are online. there is discussion about that on the forum, though, so if we're lucky there'll be more options Real Soon Now i'm also quite pleased (usually) and sometimes a little suprised by the friendlyness of the community (there are exceptions, of course, but they're a small minority from what i've seen) and i'm usually the cautious type as well, it's generally a good thing
  17. Ideas For Maps

nice one thing though, perhaps you could have "current location" or "current co-ordinates" above it so it's a little more obvious what it is (yes people should get it as soon as they move the mouse, but... well...
  18. Ideas For Maps

wow, thanks, that's progress! i'll have to boot into linux and load up EL soon to have a look... any chance someone could post a screenshot so all can see?
  19. Players On Same Computer?

as for the accounts, it's stored on the server, so that works fine... when EL starts up, just create new character from main screen, go through and make new
  20. Players On Same Computer?

yes, as many people as you like can play from the same IP, there's a thread on the furom to declare when more than one person will play from same place, just post on that and the same IP trade is for people who have more than one account (which you're allowed to, quite a few), to stop them having several accounts online at same time (allowed, as far as i know) and using them to help each other (not allowed, that's where the rule comes from)
  21. Improvements To The Quest Log

oh, okay then, sounds like we're pretty much in agreement then err, i mean
  22. Ideas For Maps

yeah, that'd be neat too... maybe something down the bottom that changes as you move the mouse across the map, showing the co-ords... precision isn't great on maps like WS, but it should be good enough adding the scale would help make the maps look more like, well, maps as well
  23. Improvements To The Quest Log

sorry, i should have clarified, bit as in computer bit... then the quest update thing is stored as, say, 000000010, meaning the second option is active, the rest aren't. that's small, and tells the client which ones to show and not an issue of corruption, but one of whether it's recorded... see my post about multple players/computers
  24. Improvements To The Quest Log

i think it kinda needs to be done by server, at least recording what stuff should be in there... what if you have different people playing on the one computer? play yourself on several (i play on the same computer, linux and windows... my questlog is empty as a result) record a bit for each part that should be in the questlog, and send it to player on login, update on server when it changes, simple and solves the problems
  25. Linux?

    make test (or check)
