  1. very old players

    Welcome back!
  2. Removal/modification of rule 5

And an alt with MM perk who saves your bags when you die, reducing the need of ro-stones? Or alts that take advantage of reduced harv event days / globals to help you stock up? Or perhaps your main does the harvesting of something like iron ore and your alts just mule it back-n-forth? MM perk alt that goes to maps to buy books that your main would get killed on? Lenny searching by having alts in multiple maps? The above wouldn't be hard to do with multiple accounts. And each would affect the economy. What about a 1 man instance? Don't know enough myself about instances or how much healing is required by a tank... but given that we already have 3 man instances... I don't see it as a stretch for the innovative community to figure out how to do a 1 man instance. You'll know when the bitching happens about lag that kicked them out of the instance and how the time to re-log in should be extended.
  3. Point defense Perk

Well, I may be a mod, but when it comes to suggestions, I'm just expressing opinions. Obviously it will be up to the developers to review all the points pro and cons and then decide what they feel would work best in the game. So please, just because I express an opinion, don't take it as "Ghrae slammed my idea so now it won't happen". Believe me - I don't have such power. I still think a Point Defense (item) is a little different. Given the ingredients of the ninja cloak, I wouldn't consider it a training item (something people make in mass to level up), where as the point defense is made for training your engineering skill. To make a mass of those and not be able to dump it... you can see the issue there. Also, it seems that fighters typically max out their physique and coordination, leading to large EMU than the typical all-rounder. Wouldn't that increased EMU with a perk compromise as I suggested (reduces the chance of a Point Defense disappearing) make carrying some point defense "stones" reasonable?
  4. Point defense Perk

Sort of skimmed after I realized this was a post about incrementing your post counts. To take this thread seriously... I think a perk that removes the need for the item is probably a bad idea. It is nice for mixers to be able to sell something and this idea would make that item pretty worthless. However... a perk that costs a couple of PP could meet somewhere in the middle. Perhaps it would reduce how fast you go through the point defense items. Like with perk, point defense items only vanish 50% of the time? or 33% of the time.
  5. How much does that staff cost? And one critical can break it? Doesn't that seem expensive? I like the idea, but the trade off seems a little costly.
  6. Special Day History List on CEL site

We've had some server issues with one of the bots that has shared the info, but we do plan on getting it back up and continuing the info in the near future

  8. Mule level update

While I agree that a message when you level up is nice... and it would be nice to have an achievement when you maxed out your mule level... Isn't armor for a mule a bit much? The concept is balance. There is a pro (increased emu) and a con (can't wear anything). And given that there is no Lenny on C1 and only on C2 half the day, that means the con really isn't that much of a con. If we give the mules armor... then the next request is for them to mix... :/ Now... having said that... it's not a bad idea... for horses. Turn your horse in to a war horse, with armor.
  9. EXP Boosters

Really? Don't we have enough EXP boosters already? - Random Various #days (Joule, Day of Schools, Harv Day, Eng Day, etc etc etc) - #day stones dropped by special in-game creatures - Schools (double xp even on normal days) - Big Books of XP - many (if not all) are createable now - AP Potions (which right now are being abused into uber XP - see Big Books of XP above) - Dailies (Haidir, Xaq, Daritha, the ENG dude, etc) - Instances - Invances It is easier now to massively level in a wide range of skills. I can't remember a time when it's been easier to level.
  10. **Generation X**Harvesting** - the 3rd Degree

I've forum PM'd without answer. In game - I have had a couple of times where EL has crashed on me while AFK, so I may have missed messages. But please Forum PM or contact me in game at some point to arrange delivery / payment
  11. Kill Counter

I've noticed the counter bug before (notice I call it a counter bug, not a Haidir bug). But in every case that I can remember when there are drops to verify count (i.e. hawk feathers for the PV / Hawk / Haidir), the drops do prove that I've done the right number of kills.
  12. Belakane Renewal

Since this is in a thread that Entropy may not be watching, I would suggest you Forum PM him the details
  13. Bots with Bad Math

Mind you, I haven't tested this idea, but could calculations be done in integer form instead of float? I have not tested the idea, but the basic concept would be: Prices can only have one decimal place (i.e. 0.6 not 0.43). All numbers would be stored as integers - Look for decimal point in string. Only allow 1 digit after the decimal point (truncate anything else) - if decimal point exists and not last position in string, remove decimal point and convert to integer (effectively multiplying it by 10 without a float math function) - else, add 0 at end of string and convert to integer (effectively multiplying it by 10 without a float math function) - - Example: cost of 2.3 > remove the decimal becomes 23 > convert to integer becomes 23 - - Example: quantity 100 > no decimal so add a 0 becomes 1000 > convert to integer becomes 1000 Do integer math (i.e. 1000 * 23 = 23000) Then, either convert to float (23000 / 100 = 230)... or if that introduces a float error as well: - convert to string - add decimal 2 positions from the right (i.e. 23000 = 230.00)
  14. bots with no gc

I don't think this would be appropriate. #jc 3 isn't for calling someone out - i.e. if you think someone is scamming you or charging outrageous prices or doesn't have as much money as they thought they did. In similar fashion, it's not appropriate to call bots out. RE: Topic as a whole What do you do when a store is having a special and they run out before you can buy one? Do you stop shopping there? Even when the store advertises "While supplies last"? And just like real life stores aren't open 24/7 in most cases... most players aren't on 24/7 and active. So a bot could easily fill up while someone is at work or asleep. And even if they are on, they may not be monitoring gc levels or EMU levels 100% of the time. Bots are not a perfect solution for many reasons. Perhaps leave a simple mercator message to the owner that you had to go elsewhere because of lack of gold or EMU. It doesn't have to be "And I'll never shop here again!!!~!111one!!!". But it would help to make him/her aware of the issue.

  16. I'm a good boy... sometimes. I try to sit when harvesting or at storage. No point blocking the harvestables or NPC. But sometimes... Alt+S becomes Alt+X. Given how often we want to sit and how rarely we want to exit (let's face it, we don't have a life) can we get rid of Ctrl+X? Instead can we set up text commands: #exit and #quit It produces the same result and is more intentional.
  17. Ctrl+S vs Ctrl+X

I don't understand this comment. I type #exit or #quit all the time to exit the game, to insure that I save what I did (versus clicking the x at the top right corner of the window). Poorly worded on my part as it was late at night. I was just suggesting we have the text commands and don't need the short cut that's near another short cut that gets much more usaged Didn't know we could do that. I like that option best of all. I'll try it tonight - thank you!
  18. Ctrl+S vs Ctrl+X

Yes I did mean Alt, not Ctrl. And I had tried the key.ini file... but with Sir_Odie's help I see that was doing so wrong. I tried: #K_SIT = ALT x assuming that #K_QUIT was an OPTION and that what was important was the Alt X having a value (other than it's default of quit) But it appears that #K_QUIT / #K_QUIT_ALT are not optional. And that I had to assign them to some other key combination. I'm sure there is a Standard Practice out there. I'm not sure if EL's key.ini method is following it or not. But it seems that a little backwards in use to me... but that could just be me.
  19. Day of Schools Scholar's Day Both give extra XP to various skills (not just potioning)
  20. It seems to me that on Global Quests, a small percentage of the community works on the project and the vast majority do not. There are various valid reasons I'm sure (language barriers, global done while someone is at work, etc). But for others, 1/2 the global is done in a matter of moments and the other 1/2 is buying expensive items that people don't want to donate; they want to sell. And I'm not knocking those who want to sell oranges - instances cost money and selling things like oranges allows people to recoup. And new players can not help because they are new. They don't have huge EMU, the ability to farm instances or the nexus to harvest uber items. So what if we restructured not only what is required... but how it adds to the global quest. - Harvestables - nothing that can be gathered in anticipation of the quest or requires uber nexus or emu. But instead at the time the quest starts, a location(s) where a special plant needs to be harvested. Nothing goes to inventory or storage. But gains "points" to that portion of the quest. There is a weighting system based on difficulty. Lower level players actually gain more points PER harvested item, but they fail more so it takes longer to get those points. Higher level players get a lower weighting b/c it's easier and faster. Thus any level player helps - Something similar could be done for fighters. Perhaps attacking a particular type animal (like racoons on any map) or a particular target on a specific map. Each hit gets points based on weighting. And perhaps a max number of attacks before no more points (so a few fighters can't get all the points - it would take a group effort) - Various skills could have similar uses (ranging at a particular target, casting a particular spell in a certain map / location, etc etc). Obviously skills that require ingredients would need far fewer "points" than harvesting / attacking. Edit: Limits to be placed so a #global isn't done by just a small number of players. Perhaps something like no more than 5% can come from any single player (idea by Infection) Edit : More #global days, especially those affecting different player types and levels would also help encourage a broad base of help (idea by Finja, others)
  21. Log in rewards

In a way, there are already rewards who log in every day and are active: Dailies. Like Haidir and Xaq which normally take very little work and yield decent rewards. Before dailies I was barely 60/60... and now I'm over 100 a/d. Ok, still get a little jumpy when I see my own shadow, but it is a nice reward just for showing up.
  22. Automatic archiving of logs

I did see someone do that in the past. It would be nice. But maybe year before month... otherwise in your chat folder all your january's are back to back, then februarys, etc
  23. I know that some people don't like harv meds due to breakage. Perhaps only use them during the XP portion of your harvesting. Any xp bonuses get a nice size bonus. Then take it off and harvest normally till the next hour change.
  24. PKer and dancing queen. I didn't think you had it in you.
  25. IMO this game is often a case of how to efficiently reach your goals. Most of us either have jobs or school so our time in game is limited. So over time we have to figure out the best way to maximize XP and still be able to do other things. Yes, it can be annoying, but with out those little annoyances, we don't really have challenges. Instead of what you suggested, try looking for maps that have a decent time-to-storage for the low level item you need... and also have a high level item you can XP on. Then hit the XP harvestable at top of hour and focus on low level item rest of hour. A slight compromise, but very doable.
