  1. I actually suggest we do add another server but only if we can directly link them somehow. I know we can't but it would be nice that if we could add another Continent on another server and then make it where player's could transfer between the two servers whenever they transfer between continents.

And what would the point be of adding another server? As you said, the problem is not the server, it's the small world and the people crowding in even smaller places. If we add more continents, why put them on a different server? To add a lot of expenses? The current server can handle much more than 400 players.

And even if we do add more continents, will it solve the problem? It seems that the problem is not lack of space, but that people prefer crowding in the same places. If 60% of the current space is basically unused, doubling it might just mean that 80% of the total would be basically unused, and people would still sit in the exact same places.

  2. Camping and killing is boring, but walking around and killing is boring too...

Oh yeah, that's why games where all you do is walk/run around and kill stuff, like Quake3, UT2004 and Doom3 will never reach 400 players ;)

This is GAME, game HAVE to be/make FUN ! And each update is less fun ! I don't get the people who want to make it more and more realistic points. If we need some realistic thing, we just turn of computer and play in real world :S

I don't think the police would like that... *Grabs her steel longsword and runs out to PK in the real world*

Stop making it harder... all that bull**** about realism sucks ! Go make stuff in real world not in game if you want realism ! Make more FUN !

The problem here is that harvesting monsters is NOT FUN.

  3. What does one have to do with the other? Besides, fighters already have an advantage.

Look all Non-fighters wanna make it wors for the fighters -_o cuz they already have problems with Harvesting stuff etc..

No, all us non-powergamers, who get bored from harvesting wolves/gargs/ogres want it to be random spawns, so that fighting aspect of the game would be more interesting. We will get higher levels from searching for monsters and killing them for a few hours than we will from harvesting three wolves, getting bored and going outside.

  4. All the people that are voting yes are non fighters!

And why? Because "fighting" is so booooooooring, it's not fighting, it's harvesting wolves/gargs/whatever. I've seen people AFK harvesting ogres, so obviously even the fighters don't see the fun in it.

Having high levels is fun because you get to kill stuff that isn't as predictable - i.e. players - but getting them is as boring as harvesting was before the autoharvester.

  5. On my first day I went north along the coast, found a teleporter, and ended up on some other map. A guy whose name I don't remember showed me the way to White Stone City, where I got lost. After trying to find him I found a new teleporter, and ended up in an old forest. Walked around there for a long time, trying different teleporters to get back, but every time I just got more lost, and finally I found the maze outside Vermor Castle. But in the meantime it had become too dark to see anything (my gfx card had a problem with the shadows), so I logged out.

During the next days, I met Entropy and Roja, and at some time suggested that we should be able to pick flowers to give to the loved one. Later someone suggested that there should be some animals, and from there everything went downwards

  6. It's just like #beam me up, every time you so something and say "I'll fix that later", once you try to fix it, people want to continue with the old way.

The fixed spawns is one of the things that makes this more of a mouse training program than a game. There's nothing interesting in hunting anything, because you know where they are going to be. Imagine if hunters IRL just could go to their favorite place, aim and wait for the animals to appear where they're aiming. Bang, 10 seconds, bang, 10 seconds, bang... :(

It's also funny how it's the high level fighters that want to continue with the monsters spawning in predictable locations, while they are also the ones suggesting that they would have an unfair advantage. Personally I think they have their high levels because of this misfeature. The rest of us are simply bored "harvesting wolves", and never get our fighting levels high.

  7. It doesn't make sense. The lag is not because of the server, but because of all the people on your screen. If you want to split people up, so they can't see eachother, can't chat with eachother and so on, ok, an extra server would do that. But in that case, why don't you just go to some deserted area yourself, there you won't be able to chat with people either (except if you join a channel, which wouldn't help if you were on a separate server).

Og go play a single-player game instead. We have a small community, splitting it up would do much harm. Or just play on the test-server instead, if you're not interested in the community.

  8. No, you are completely wrong.

    1. This isn't the same flame thing... Roja closed the one you were part of back then, and it was a few months before a new one started.

    2. She doesn't play EL anymore. She still hangs out on the forum though. Apparently some of those that hate her aren't satisfied with her leaving the game, they want her to disappear from the entire planet.

  9. It's inside the computer, and it's the one the monitor cable connects to. It's not always green, but green is the most usual.

But you'd want to find it in control panel instead, much easier and without risk of destroying your computer.

Isn't Windows supposed to come with some plug'n'play thing that can autodetect the graphics card and ask for a driver? I'm sure Microsoft was advertising something like that ten years ago.

  11. The ideas may work for getting people into the taverns, but they will not improve social interactions. Some people simply don't like being social, and trying to force them will only increase the amount of spam.

Back in the old days, there were always people chatting at the Isla Prima fire, but it seems by now there are too many spammers, new players arriving, people arriving from the underworld or doing #beam me up, that it is more like a railway station than a place to chat.
