I hope your fiancee is the one who does the cooking at your place

You mean he won't be looking like this anymore? http://www.raudat.net/~zz/wraithplant.jpg J/K
-
No. Read my post again. There is only one "set of dice".
-
Entropy doesn't want it.
-
How do you see the how many votes a game has?
-
There's one thing you guys missed completely... There is only one random number generator, which is shared among everyone logged in. So, when you get stung by a bee twice with 5 seconds in between, in the meantime about 50 players has "rolled the dice" to attack some monster, and about 50 monsters have rolled the dice to attack the players back every second, 50 other players have rolled for harvesting, and so on. So, your two unlucky rolls in a role may easily be separated by 1000 other rolls with the same set of dice. If there was something funny with the dice, you would have everyone getting cave walls collapsing at the same time.

Interesting idea. Similarly you could put houses on poles, with bridges between. Could even be done on the same map, like when the water started rising to flood the old houses, new houses were built above the water.

Elephants? Would that be baby elephants or something? As for waterfalls, try to ask Umrion or Mikeman, they seem to have enough OpenGL knowledge to do it.

Sounds like a possible client bug. If it was a server bug, relogin shouldn't fix it. Did anyone try to do stuff that requires a positive food level while the food level was displayed as positive but should have been negative or vice versa? Were you successfull?
-
When it happens only sometimes, it's a bug. The suggestion you got on that forum was a workaround.

There are many popes that certainly didn't deserve to go to heaven. And I say it as a Catholic. But then you probably wouldn't be sad that they died either?
-
Can't you do this #ifdef OSX #define GetColor GetColor1 #define Move Move1 #endif somewhere in global.h? Of course *after* the system files get included.

Told you It can't be EL, it can't be SDL, it has to be a bug in Windows.
-
No way. Items are not stored as individual items, they are stored as a count.
-
I would guess that this impression comes from ppl who left EL saying something like "Bye, im off to PS." Thats maybe why some ppl tell PS players to go back to PS. Just my 2 cents. Piper I'm not sure what "impression" is referring to. My comment "not everyone", or to where those people got their expectations? If it's the first, I already explained that it seems so because people say "You are playing PS now, why are you still here". If you meant the second, I guess they must be judging from the number of games they play themselves. Just because one or two people leave EL to play planeshift shouldn't give them the impression that everyone else would do the same, if they themselves play more than one game. And no, I never said bye. But I got told to leave EL because I was (and am) playing Planeshift.

Placid, please read the catholic part of my post, even if you're not a catholic. The pope was, and if you do care about him, that's what counts. Basically, it started with someone (name is not relevant to this) complaining that she couldn't even go to a bar because everything was closed with every catholic in poland being sad about the pope dying. And that was my point, catholics shouldn't be sad about the pope finally getting to meet god, they should be happy for him. The other part was just tacked on without as much thought, I didn't realize there were non-catholics who cared about him. But I think that he should be allowed the benefit of the doubt, and those who care should be happy that he gets to meet his god even if we don't believe there is a god. In his "world" there is a god, and that's where he is going.

It's confusing, I heard "9.11" so many times that it took a couple of years before I figured out that it wasn't in november. And it's not nine hundred eleven in any case.
-
Are you german? In that case it's 11/9, not 9/11, 9.11 or even 911. It's the americans being backwards just to confuse everyone else as usual. It was the 11th of september, not 9th of november. Unless you're talking about a Porsche and I completely misunderstood your post.
-
I wonder why you put it like that... To me it looks like you're saying that people who are playing the game are not someone who should play. Insulting someones guild is not nice, put why did you put playing the game along with it?
-
Other. Polyphony Digital isn't on the list, and neither is SCEE (Sony). And I don't remember who owned The Great Gianna Sisters.
-
No, because people still turn on the TV (that's where your power goes, not the light) to catch the evening news, now they just need to close the curtain to see the picture. At the same time it's darker in the morning when you need to get to work at *need* the light, so it gets turned on then instead.

Not everyone seems to share that point of view. Some people do expect others to only play one MMORPG or even one game. I never said you were among them, I just pointed out that someone like Smile might expect to never touch EL again after joining Planeshift when she seems comments like "You're playing Planeshift now, why are you still here?".

So, how well does Tankel do with repairing magic weapons?
-
It's not a "problem", it's in the "hey this would look nice" category. So, problems are fixed first. Stuff that is supposed to improve gameplay is done first. And things people are already working on are done first too, we don't want to break something just to make the storage look nice. Stuff takes time, and with the current number of programmers (3 on the client I think, not counting the OSX guy, and 1 on the server and the rest of us not even allowed to touch it), don't expect this to be done soon. Most of the things that get done are things that require changing only the client or only the server, because they can be done by one person. This would require changing both, meaning that it requires the server developer to have time for it at the same time as one of the client guys. If either of them have more important things (like fixing bugs), this will have to wait. I think it's also dependent on the window system rewrites that are currently being done, and in this case implementing it will have to wait until that work is finished. Making the storage look nicer is something that requires much more work to do, than the value it will have to the game.
