  1. Prices went up by conscious effort by radu.  Quests were added to Darithia requiring EFEs and other rare items in attempt to drive business to shop but Eternal Lands just became a banana republic with hyperinflation. There are players using 50-100 rare esses in a sitting to attempt to get rare items and that also affected prices.

And you are correct on most mixing becoming unprofitable.  Market costs of ingredients cost more than cost NPC sells for because without those items being affordable many of feeder characters stop playing.   Bread and Circuses is current scheme of game rather than what it was before.

  2. I installed EL on a machine I never have installed it on before (Windows 7) using a fresh download and it crashes opening each time.  Any clues on issues?  Only thing I noticed was it being 1.9.5.1 not .2 but that should not cause it to crash.

  3. What would happen is before the change those with millions of gold coins in storage and ability to generate more gold coins quickly would buy everything that would about to skyrocket in price.  It happened before animal parts where before change some heard it was coming and emptied bots. It happened with other items as well. Since the changes were not officially announced ahead of time obviously there are leaks and it favors those connected with inside info.

  4. Generally in a Communist model economy prices of certain key things are fixed (i.e. steel, titanium and bronze armor & great swords) to make economy currency (rostos in this case) run even though it results in hoarding, rapid inflation, shortages and corruption.  I think the model is working very well.

  5. I'd like to see a light spell, a low level spell useful for say starting to harvest, which would be useful not just for combat like shield is and is what I see a lot of players casting even though just sitting at storage or in fast regeneration.  Since game has full day cycle this makes sense at night since there are no torches in game and this is supposed to be role playing.  Some mines are brighter than outside!

  6. Personally I believe this will just add to inflation and since one of the big items bought from NPC, air essences, it seems a very slanted proposal.

P.S. Spirit Essence - increased price to 20gc will result in tremendous rise in cost of Intercontinental Teleport to Portals Room spell which uses 12 SEs.

  7. Engineering and Tailoring are not listed as possible rewards.   I do not think they were skills when quest implemented.

Since there are a bunch of new players and some may want to start on Engineering and Tailoring this would be a good way for them to get a boost since they are competing with players with a lot more experience.  To an experienced player like me it does not make that much of a difference.

  8. I noticed everything got weird when I got Child of Stars perk.  I used to have The artificer cape and was regular mixer of magic esses.  I used to mix when astro was high and I recorded how many EMEs mixed per ME.  After I got Child of Stars perk it went down dramatically to point it was not worth wearing cape and I transferred nexus.

Basically I find a lot of minor non-combat perks are useless.

It seems combat perks are tested a lot and are important to be fixed and more easily tested.

Other ones are contributed to luck but when you break 3 hammers making 30 leather boots you would really like to know if something is wrong or just bad luck.

    Thanks for checking.

  9. On freshly restarted client I was mixing SRs and broke 4 mortars in 453 potions which is a very large break rate.

I have seen no improvement since fix.

It is possible it is related to Child of Stars perk for I also noticed percentage of rares, even when I wore Artificer Cape, went down so I transferred nexus.

i checked Harvest/Degrade indicator and astro positive, the only indicator which might indicate astro in this case.

"Time elapsed" has absolutely nothing at all to do with "statistical probability".

    Lul.

There are no true random numbers in computers only psuedo random numbers.

If the seed basis included time as factor it is certainly possible that it could affect it but in that case a well designed game would use factor such as cooldown to prevent it.

One big problems with new player chars, is old players creating new chars and pretending to be new player. get some free stuff from nice players etc and then people find out they got scammed and stop doing it. I am happy to help new players when i see them but i went wary as to if they are really new or not

Yes I "newbee" asked me for stuff.  Later I saw him in NMT, etc doing novac.

Maybe he was a "rich" newbee but then he did not need to beg.

The Server does keep track of the quest status of every player already. Problem is there is no Protocol for sending the quest status to the client.

I would love to see such a Protocol Implemented. Because yes while i am pretty sure i have done every little quest in game (except for the breaking quest where i am on the last 2 pieces for over a year now) i am not sure thats true, and only way for me to find out is to talk to all npc again.

Even talking to NPC does not help. An example is the noob break quest in NC for armor up to titanium chain. Absolutely no feedback on that quest.  There are a few more like that.

And please finish Kill Bob II before adding any new quests.  At least have NPC give up asking for more and just return scythe and some experience.  It has been unfinished in years.
