  1. Shared Mule Locked

    Well I thought you said I could keep SirOswald but it looks like you locked him up in the east dungeon. I am still kinda bitter that Visionary was killed off before any of this started and I had no record of why, forcing me to start from scratch on that role-play character. I can't help but wonder if Visionary hadn't been mysteriously deleted, could I have possibly taken the same path and ended up where I am now? Oh well, no hard feelings. I guess I'll stop playing EL (for the...12th time). Eventually I will remember EL and check up on it just out of curiosity. In closing, I found the whole experience hilarious just because the scheme I played along with for the sake of Laythe was actually worse than doing it the normal way. There was absolutely nothing about what we did that gave us an edge over anyone else. If he would have just let me come in the mine with Visionary I could have carried nearly the same amount to Portland storage and back faster than it takes to get from beam back to the Portland tit-mine. On top of that, I never even profited from this "cheat" as none of my characters ever traded with the shared mule. Unlike Laythe, I've never used proxies with EL and I can only connect through 2-3 static IPs depending on who I am visiting. So unlike him, I never even experienced multi-game cheating or special advantages. All good fun. What have I learned out of this whole event? I have learned that apparently EternalLands is a subsidiary of SeriousBusiness and not a simple game.

    I messed up in that OP, it was NotSane that was being used as the shared mule. So, DagothCorpus was locked for gossip? HandlersBone was booted but not locked for gossip, I know that. HandlersBone was later locked. HandlersBane was the first newbie I created that Laythe didn't like the name of. Not Sane was the newbie that we went with and shared. HandlersBone (edit) was the newbie I created to see why I couldn't log into Visionary. Just to be clear... Laythe, greatmule, malake, shikatsu, freefighter, sweetfighter are not my characters. Your current penalty requires that all of my non-shared alts be locked. I never suspected that helping Laythe with an infinitely small get-rich-quick scheme, of which I told Laythe I wanted entertainment and not money, would be the death of my EL life. Ha ha ha. Well, I certainly got the entertainment I wished for. In a month I will forget about this game again, so much for my triumphant return to EL. No hard feelings though, it was a very fun week. Peace out. <Update for gossip purposes> I have been allowed to continue playing on SirOswald for the time being. Since my fighting/role-playing char (DagothCorpus) is off limits, I will continue SirOswald's crusade to master the art of healing people randomly.     Been banned: HandlersBone, then Visionary, and recently DagothCorpus If you are just going to lock every character I play on please tell me now so that I can quit the game with a little dignity rather than having me squirm around like a goldfish you plucked out of the water. I understand banning HandlersBone, but why Visionary and DagothCorpus? Let me give you a run down of what happen for you lurkers out there... I met a fun guy on Visionary and we became short-term friends. He told me about his get rich quick scheme: He asked that I create a newbie character, load it up with coord (so that I could carry lots), keep it under attack 17 (so that tutorial would provide free heal) and keep it under oa 25 (so that I could use newbie storage). Then he wanted the password so that he could jump on it as needed. (Yea I know, sharing password is against the rules, but I didn't think it would be significant for a newbie account) He then loaned me his MM cape so that I could sit in the Portland titanium mine and beam back to newbie storage full of titanium and then come running back. (Yea I know, I just crave the abuse) He said we would continue doing that until 10k titanium and then split the profits. We got up to 1k or 2k titanium and then I had to run off for exams. I came back and you guessed it, locked. So this is the reason HandlersBone was locked (I am assuming) because it was a shared character. So why was Visionary, an unshared character, locked? And why was DagothCorpus, an unshared character, locked after letting me level up with him so much over the past couple days? If it is your intention to lock all the characters I own, just tell me now. I will gladly tell you all of my usernames and quit EL forever just to resolve this. I am on EL right now with SirOswald enjoying the inability to do alchemy. Feel free to lock that one for no apparent reason too, if you so desire. The suspense is killing me!

    DeathBag Channel - For general chat/spam regarding deathbags The topic of "DeathBags" has become, in a sense, official by means of popularity. Therefore, it seems only suitable that this would be placed in the range of official channels. Channel 9 seems like a good possibility because I never see anyone there, and it is within the range of one digit, semi-official channels. Final Suggestion: Channel 9 ~ Deathbag lost and found
  6. DeathBag Channel

    Now, before someone slaps me, let me explain... I think that there should be an official deathbag channel or at least a channel mods will encourage as a deathbag channel. Why? Simply because I am tired of seeing deathbag spam on channels 1 and 3. I do not support the idea that death bags ever have an owner, and furthermore, I do not think one can "steal" a deathbag. Yet, this is not the issue here! Once again, my suggestion is to either: - create an official deathbag channel Or.. - have mods encourage deathbag chat/spam on a certain channel If this topic has been suggsted already or is in the wrong section, please feel free to disregard or delete it.

  8. Repair

    A very good idea there... When any item breaks, it will never disappear. Instead, you will just continue carrying a broken item(identified by [broken] attatched to its name) until you discard it or try to have it repaired. Now the only catch is that the cost to repair the item would vary drastically to the point where certain items wouldn't be worth the cost of repairing. Much better than things going "poof!"

    LMAO I can't wait to see... SirOswald has poked his eye out eating fruit! SirOswald made a fatal mistake! Totally worthless, but I'd enjoy the amusement...
  10. Anti-social Perk

    Granted, the Anti-Social perk is a pain as it is, but it seems like it is being misrepresented. If anything, Anti-Social perk should lock the trade function for that player. Honestly, people with the Anti-Social perk currently just rely on being...welll Social! In my mind, it would be more of an anti-social perk if you weren't allowed to trade with other players, but could still use NPC's. My wonderful solution... 1.) Make a seperate Negative perk that won't allow you to trade with people... 2.) Change the current perk so that you can't trade with NPC's or people(also increase pickpoints gained)... 3.) Reverse the current perk so you can only trade w/ NPC's, and not people... Now now...let's not get too restless here... It works out perfectly! More than you could possibly imagine... The new negative perk would prevent direct trades, but the player could still attempt bag-drop trades with friends. This follows suit with being Anti-Social ten fold in comparison w/ the current perk... Think it over...
  11. Fleeing Animals

    Simply put, animals should have a chance of fleeing from you that is relative to your lvl. Perhaps even monsters could have this feature too... For an added effect of amusement, you could even update the AI so the animals will run from much higher lvl's without the person attacking. (This could get annoying for those who are after the Items the animal may drop) For now, the important thing is the ability for the animal to flee. To improve upomn the idea, even have a chance for the creature to flee after it has lost a certain ammount of health. Just an attempt to enforce reality...

    Interesting... You mention a key...suppose that you must go to the Underworld, and find the cave that leads to the Devil's lair. In order to enter this cave, you would need a key that is dropped by fluffy or chimeran wolf... The Devil would also have minions in his lair such as demons and evil spirits. The point to it all? Maybe just harder creatures for higher lvl's to fight... It sounds fun...but not fun enough... <_<
  13. Racial Harvesting Benefits

    New races would be a good addition to EL; diversity always comes first... Indeed, the benefits and penalties of each race should not be limited to something as trivial as harvesting. In fact, these differentiations should be across the complete spectrum of the game as 70347 displayed. The introduction of more opportunities and options in EL can only promote the community by providing something for everyone...
  14. To some extent, an intelligent system would be nice when it comes to selective elimination of bags in order to control bag spamming to a certain extent... Regardless of the well-being of the server, a new system might solve such problems with reality. Classify items under 3 categories... - Natural : Anything that is harvested(Flowers, Food, Ores) - Animal : Anything that creatures drop(Bones, Meat, Fur/Skins, Books) - Human : Anything that is manufactured(Equipments, Potions, Weapons, Metals) Then have these be eliminated over time in the order presented...Natural -> Human This time table of elimination would be regardless of overall bags in server. As for cleaning up server memory, each of these categories would have their own bag limit that would not reflect one another. In addition, clean up would result in the elimination of a certain category in a bag instead of the whole bag itself. So, if the number of Natural item containing bags exceeds the server limit, the server would begin to delete these natural items and only remove the bag if nothing was remaining inside. Confusing...yea...but it would be a good system.
  15. Underworld/hell

    As I already addressed, the other option is just adding creatures for visual effect and overall entertainment...Not Monsters If this were the case, I would revert back to the idea of making these creatures of the underworld hideously strong so as to prevent abuse. Such abuse that I object to would be newbs staying in the Underworld just to lvl Attack and Defense. Making these creatures very strong would eliminate this occurance and provide an added challenge for high lvl players. The challenge would be that these great beasts of Hell would allow a more suitable means to obtain higher lvl's of att. & def. while the disadvantage of having (possibly) lost imperative equipment to enter this realm remains in place. Another interesting idea from 70347...Chained Monsters Have monsters that remain secluded to small portions of the Underworld so that they can be avoided in safety and yet can still inflict damage upon the careless. At this point, it is all an attempt for realism... Ideas are appreciated...
