  1. **Generation X**Harvesting** - the 3rd Degree

Hi, YethQ would like this order I would like to make one special order with it, of yew, 5k if that is ok. Also would like 10k turquoise, 10k branches, 5k gypsum, and 10k sapphires. total should be 152k if I am not off on my arithmetic. Thank you so much, Y
  2. Two days ago a few of us were up during a slow time of day (wee hours for USA). We were talking on a very peaceful channel 6 and got on the subject of astro and skeptic. One suggestion was that the Skeptic perk only really affected fighters, as it affected only the skills pertaining to fighting, such a/d and magic. However, others suggested, as Radu clarified later in a PM to PaulB (waitint for permission to afixto end of this post) that skeptic perk acts on all forms of astro and is not limited to fighting. However, one question remains that I would like an answer to. I suggested, not from my own idea but from the idea of the Late Graywolf of BoC guild, who had been a dear friend of mine, that astro is NOT the only deciding factor or force at play in the chance failure or success rate of players on any given day or time. He suggested that rather, besides astro there was a second force he called Luck which he believed was coded into game as well and influenced our chance of failure or success perhaps on a differnet pattern of cycle, or perhaps generated somewhat randomly on the computer; but that it did change back and forth and players would experience therefore highs and lows in performance, failure, success, etc. They would have good days and bad days, some really good days, some really bad, some fairly good some fairly bad and some just ordinarily mediocre. This seems to be the experience at least of many people who take skeptic. There bad days are not as bad perhaps as without skeptic, but they do have these variables. Is is imagined? or is it real? This I would like an answer to if possible. It would be really swell if someone knowledgable and not just guessing would answer athoritatively, perhaps even 'teh_g-d' himself. thank you and others may feel free to express your experiences but please unless you know for certain clarify your responses as experiences and not the known truth. Please allow someone who truly knows answer athoritatively.
  3. **Generation X**Harvesting** - the 3rd Degree

  4. Global Quest FAQ

I am willing to start doing gypsum harvest party with anyone else who would like to....contact me ingame anytime, my emu sucks but am a great harvester so perhaps we can have a couple harvesters and several mules, who are in or out of mule form for this....NVMD just looked at day, is already, never pay much attn, but in future I can be counted on for these types of endeavers.
  5. Thank you Paulb, now probably is not necessary to afix the text unless people want it, if so I do have it save. But my question still remains which is, is there any ohter operating code that could be explained such as LUCK, some force playing on the chance success and failure of activities of eternal lands characters besides ASTRO. I do not pretend to know, but I do know from my own experiences with ASTRO, which I had for a number of years but had removed because of all this, that I had considerable variance in success/failure rate on a {time} by {time} basis....what causes the varience....Is it purely random chance, or is there another force at work.
  6. Boar updates

I vote for huge boars lol
  7. **Generation X**Harvesting** - the 3rd Degree

Sorry not been able to pick up, I have been in CCU (hospital) and then home and then now sick with flu and on top of all that, my android broke which was also my wifi for computer. I got new IPhone from brohter, but it I hate Apple with a passion so wont pay them for internet connection on phone. I have already now signed up for high speed internet (really nice) and they will set up on Wednesday by 5pm, however if you are across globe from me may be Thursday for you. I am in Pacific TIme Zone. Anyway, YethQ has plenty of gold so will be able to p/u by Wednesday night or as soon after that as I can connect up with you. Ty for your good work and sorry for inconvenience. Y
  8. Sponsor token

I think being able to sponsor events is a good idea
  9. Good luck....good people, good guilds make EL a great game!
  10. Making gold undropable

fa·ce·tious adjective \fə-ˈsē-shəs\ Definition of FACETIOUS 1 : joking or jesting often inappropriately : waggish <just beingfacetious> 2 : meant to be humorous or funny : not serious <a facetiousremark My comments were neither jesting, meant to be humorous nor inappropriate. Why rokk takes offense and puts down another (with an inappropriate adjective since it does not reflect my the nature of my comments at all) just because I disagree is beyond me. I still fail to see how much funds you would lose by not getting level 40 and below gear and gold in non-drop pk maps. If they happen to be wearing any type of armor worth a lot, such a newbie in ice dragon armor or a steel set even, it is my understanding they would still lose it....only plain leather armor and gold and cheap stuff like that is protected. So why so much resistance even in pk areas. Seems to me those of you who love to pk would actually welcome the change since a few more newbies might be willing to go and practice pk-ing knowing they will not lose their gear. However even that is not really a big thing as mostly they can do that in no-drop pk areas......Really I am very much interested in hearing if most PKers are heavily reliant on drops of cheap gear and gold from players under level 40. This would be important to know if we are considering this. I really doubt it myself.
  11. Making gold undropable

and how many people who are not newbies are stupid enough to carry a significant amount of gold with them to go into pk. I mean really, how stupid could you get? Is there good reasons to carry a lot of gold to NCA? None that I can see, unless Pkers in general like to add to their risk of loss. So how much will you lose? Generally what you gain is not gold but things to sell for gold coin. Anyway, you misread me too, I did say that perhaps you are correct about newbies not being safe in pk areas, since I think it creates a false and unnatural sense of security in them. However, there is also a good reason to implement Radu's idea there as well, since they might possibly be more inclined to try PK if they would not lost their gear. Which would be a boon to PK. So there I present arguments for and against, but my own opinion is that the idea is good and should be tried.
  12. Making gold undropable

rokk if you are so poor you cant afford to lose a few newbies leather armors and what small amount of gold they might carry to pk I really wonder how you get by. Surely your EL income is not dependent on newbies dying in PK? Also for most part newbies would never drop anything in pk as most pk areas they go to would be non-drop anyway. As far as the drop maps that are pk, maybe you are right, not for the EL economy--that it is dependent on newbies deaths is ridiculous. However, if newbies can harvest say, in NOrdcam pk cave without losing much it could create a false sense of security. However, it would difficult to fully warn them that in this particular map they can lose stuff they would not in others (and other pk-drop maps as well) It would mean an addition to warning for newbies stating that in this map they could drop any item in inventory, that there was no newbie protection. Which would be more stuff to read but doable.
  13. Sandy

corrected a spelling mistake GL with the hurricane though affected was correct, effect is also a word but not the correct meaning in this case. Sorry, Infamous......affected was correct. To illustrate: the "effects" of the hurricane could be felt by many in the East coast but not all were "affected" as badly as others --from a student of English (who does not usually correct mistakes, but felt unable to resist in a case where someone goes out of way to correct something that is already correct with an incorrect correction lol) **hope you are ok Radu and Roja
  14. Sandy

I add my prayers as well.
  15. Making gold undropable

problem with that is hard to say what will drop, maybe nothing but the most important item they own. I think better to use Maxine's suggestion, a number of popups occurring upon reaching a level close to the level they will begin to lose stuff saying that if they die they will lose items after attainment of level 40 and if they have been so fortunate to have acquired any expensive gear they should consider investing in a rostogol stone to protect it and maybe state where to get one (available for purchase in shop or on many bots throughout EL) Also, RAdu, have you ever considered making first time shop buyers get a one time discount or even one free item with a first time purchase. well could be abused I suppose with people creating alts for just that purpose unless you could somehow keep it to one per ip address or credit card or whatever.....but just thought might be one idea for getting the new player to consider going to shop and purchasing once they hit that level....
  16. Help spread the word

Will do radu and I will put a banner on my blog site, and btw, I did write about el on my blog and tell a bit about it and give a link for website, as well as gave my ingame name and told them they can pm me when they make a character and I would be glad to help them get started. So doing what I can
  17. Making gold undropable

excellent idea Radu, I have actually seen newbies quit game because of losing their gear--even sadly when I saved their bag for them they became upset upon seeing loss I guess and log out, (have known name from death message) often not to return. Although not sure this is the healthiest attitude for them as a person, it is definitely a sad thing to see them leave just because they died and lost stuff. And it would not make rostos less used as nobody uses rostos at that level. It will not negate the real need of older, experienced players taking some time to help them learn the game and feel a part of our community however and I will always encourage us older players, including myself. to give a bit back and help the new players.
  18. **Generation X**Harvesting** - the 3rd Degree

this is for bob88--please if you cant get me ingame ask raz to get my turquoise, I gave him 50k to claim it. ty, I am sure I will be fine but not feeling really good after some minor back surgery and have been taking it easy. YethQ
  19. Your Nickname for EL

Believe it or not my char name, YethQ came from one of the suggested names generator on the EL Homepage. It was the only one I figured I might be able to remember how to spell to be honest, lol some I admit were a mouthful. But if anyone wondered where my name came from, there you have it.
  20. Penguins

lol @ Mydl (I doubt it would work for an old gal like me,) so I will tell you what I learned in life: from age 0 to 20 what a women needs in life is good parents. from age 20 to 40 she needs good looks. From age 40 to 60 she needs good friends. From age 60 and up she needs cash. I read this, I believe it is a quote from Joan Rivers, but may have remembered wrong.
  21. Mage/healer class, reloaded

Love it! I am not sure radu intends to make a lot of new mage spells but it would be fun to call down lightning and earthquakes. However, I didnt enivisoin it when he proposed it and not sure it will happen, but nice idea there. I think mostly Mages will become more powerful with spells like harm, poison, etc and also more powerful healers, which would make them really helpful in invasions and in invances and instances. I can foresee, if radu brings this change, evetually having a mage will be as important as having a good tank. But both will be important. I love the idea and I plan to level a mage char if it comes to fruition.
  22. Mage/healer class, reloaded

Well said, Teotwawki. Seems every suggestion has to be tweaked to death from everyone wanting it to work their own way and to their own advantage. I say lets try it and if it needs tweaking deal with that after we really know for certain what the problem(s) are, i.e, after it has been introduced so we can truly see how it works ingame.
  23. Removal/modification of rule 5

First off, looks like most people are voting no so really does not matter, however, just want to say, do you really thing that players who we know today will completely change their play style if this is a yea. Can you really imagine those players who are mainly A/D type training or PK starting alts to harvest all the time iron, carry to sto, make FES all their own weapons and armors and such.....I don't think so.. They would not enjoy that anymore then than they do now. I am not really an all-rounder, I am specialized somewhat. I am an engineer and a crafter. I would not begin to get alts to make anything I don't make myself already, and I know I am not alone. Some of us don't like to do certain things or we prefer to do others. Mostly we are all like that. I buy harvestibles from GEN X and would continue to do so. I do harvest but I don't like to do it all the time all day. See, there maybe a few who would do it all,,,,,but most would not I think. I don't think we would stop buying essies or bars or armors or anything. I don't buy that argument at all. However, you don't really need to continue to protest so much as you are winning anyway regardless of whether you are right or wrong in your reasoning, and as I said before, it really does not affect me anyway, so don't care really about the outcome either way.
  24. Removal/modification of rule 5

I voted Yes too, for same reason as Piper. I really dont care much however whether it passes or not, as I am not someone whp thinks that making a lot of gc or whatever ingame whatever is very important. It is not real. I have talked to some in El who imo make really weird statements like "I want to be richest person in EL" I cant help wondering why anyone would care. I guess some people's self image is so low that they actually base their image of themselves by how rich their pretend char is in a mmo? Personally, I do make quite a lot of coin at this point in game, I am a hard worker and I have some fairly good paying skills. And I also can buy from shop if I really need money and sell a few rostos, which I am not the least big ashamed of, for those of you who think shop that is so evil, which seems off to me, incidentally as how I was raised and believe, expecting something something for nothing is far worse. The bottom line is it wont affect me or how I play the game, except if it were made legal and I started a new character, if I did, (I have a couple already so this is not a given) I might give my new character some healing pots and low level noob stuff to get started, but is not necessary and not different really than what many of us do in that we get same sort of stuff from friends for our alts to start.....nothing big, but a few pickaxes, a few gloves, a few minor health pots and maybe some noob armor for when our free pair breaks or is lost in death..... I see nothing wrong with that. I realize some really greedy people who have a really inflated idea of what EL wealth is worth, will take advantage of the change , but I am neither impressed with such players wealth or care what they do. I am more impressed by players who take an active part in EL, and give of themselves rather than take take take. But if taking is all one gets pleasure out of, let em take I say. It really does not hurt me, and if that all that gives them joy in life they are more to be pitied that anything. Some many get sooooo upset by others perceived wrongs. I try to just ignore such behavior and concentrate on the positive. I think we as a group are highly resistant to change in game. I think it would be ok if we tried things like this, if they fail, radu can reintroduce the rule.....I say try it without and if it is a problem either add more rules or whatver or just go back to the way it was. Is not the end of the world, nothing must be permanent in a game like this. Nobody is going to die from the change. (Nh maybe will kill a few who knows but he wont kill me, I never go to pk area, so his behavior has not bearing on me what-so-ever) Still, just for the record, I am only voting yes because I think we should try some changes. It wont hurt and maybe it would be helpful, if not, change back, and they try some new changes. . I think the game will be better if it is allowed to continue to evolve and that means change. Not that is it bad now, but change is a good thing really, though most of us are afraid of it. Change fights boredom and can really help morale. Have you ever rearranged your furniuture when you are depressed. It does wonders for your mood.......so a bit of change can uplift the spirit of a gaming community. And if it does not , of course, get rid of the thing you changed. But nobody really knows til you try. Alot of you act like you know exactly what will happen in any given change of events but I dont believe most of you really know, you are just hypothesizing and you may or may not be right. Truth is most outcomes can not be absolutely known for certain. they must be tried. I do agree that our game need not be the same as all other MMos, however, rule 5 is not the life of EL. It is not the primary thing that makes our game differrent. It is not taht important. I would say more important is the fact that we are not made to pick our class at the start and we can have the build of our choice and we can change---and most of all what makes us different is we are a small but vibrant and close knit community and we have a dynamic all our own and a cool game leader (teh_g-d) who takes an active interest in playing with us. YOU never see this in other games. Radu is a part of our game,,,, not just the creator of it or the distant boss. WHether you love him or hate him or somewhere in between, he is a very big reason we love the game as he spends so much energy on it and plays it with us. This is by far more the reason our game is special than any one rule. So I vote yet to try it.
  25. Mage/healer 'class'

LOve it radu, and I would actually train my alt I am not playing now, a little noob alt, to do this. I played ,mage in all my other rpgs so watch out if it is implemented I would pay the pps too..
