  1. STR8Jacket of *CO*

Where does it say that the violation of any rule results in banning? It doesn't, it says it's at the discrtion of moderators to determine punishment on a case by case basis.
  2. Extra critical chance

I support the idea, especially with the addition of this statement.
  3. Logging in?

Did you create a character? If not, you need to create a character first by clicking the New Character button instead of Log In.
  4. So im a "new" player

I disagree. Everything about PVP in this game has shown me it is about lack of moral scruples and being able to be a bully killing fellow players to take DBs and most of the PVP players attack only weaker foes except in no drop areas. If a superior foe confronts them they do not enjoy the competition but flee. PVP is about cowardliness and in many PVP players would no different that armed robbers attacking elderly if they could get away with it. Nice to see your positive attitude shining through yet again. It's a f*****g game, lighten the f**k up. It has nothing to do with morality or attacking elderly, for crying out loud - get a grip. You say the same thing about people who challenge inexperienced players in Mario Cart? Do you even have any idea how many players there are who get high entertainment value from pvp in EL? Do you even pk?
  5. Debian Lenny gnome sound issues..workaround

That's exactly what I meant. I had the same error about ALC_ENUMERATION_EXT not being present when I ran the official linux client from the EL download page. I researched and found that it is in fact supported in lenny's version of openal (tho I forget the exact version # atm.) Downloading the source from cvs & compiling against the libraries on my system got me past that error message and gave me the list of enumerated sound devices I posted previously. I kept dubious notes of what libraries I needed to install to get the compile to work so feel free to forum PM me or contact me in game if you have any trouble.
  6. El freezing me pc

This just started happening? Has EL worked for you before on this computer? Did you try other OpenGL games or only DirectX/Direct3D games to see if they cause a failure as well. I've spent some time on google and found other issues with people having hard lockups running OpenGL games while DirectX games work fine on their Windows XP systems, but no solutions yet other than the answer you don't want to hear: try a different video card. EDIT: Are you using the drivers supplied by Windows XP? Make sure you have the absolute latest driver for this card which appears to be bundled into a legacy driver package: http://support.amd.c...deonaiw_xp.aspx I found a previous release, like 9.4 I think, that mentioned some other games failing to respond. This should update the OpenGL version number in your #glinfo output. EDIT: For anyone else stumbling across this thread who might help, in PM conversation with Koddy he mentioned that he tried two other games, LoL and CSS both of which are DirectX games not OpenGL (they might have options to use either, not 100% sure, I just briefly googled for their system requirements.) He also said EL worked in the past, as recently as Saturday November 6 I believe.
  7. Then you buy 340 pieces of something just like you do now. The idea of having either some type of scroll bar to raise & lower quantity or a text edit field to enter in the quantity you want to purchase has been suggested at least once before. This isn't an attempt to solve all players' issues with all items ever purchased from NPCs, just those instances where you want the max you can carry, either by emu or slot.
  8. Notes on using desktop launcher (Gnome) to start EL.

You can also set the command in the launcher to something like this and run EL w/o the need for a script: gnome-terminal --working-directory /usr/local/games/el -e /usr/local/games/el/el.x86.linux.bin
  9. Debian Lenny gnome sound issues..workaround

I run debian lenny and sound works just fine, but only after I compiled from source on my system. Prior to that, I got an error indicating that the function to enumerate sound devices did not exist. Now I can see in my error log the correct enumeration of sound devices including "ALSA Software on default" which I currently use. You'll see the enumerated sound devices listed in ~/.elc/error_log.txt: To use them, enter the exact text in the options dialog on the Audio tab in the sound device text field. If it is blank, it will default to /dev/dsp I believe.
  10. You can already pick the highest quantity when selling to NPCs even if you have far less, it would be great if it worked both ways and afforded the same convenience. Nice suggestion.
  11. I don't get experience after the hour change

That doesn't make sense to me. You get experience for 120 harvests every hour and the counter resets when the hour changes, if you are logged in when it changes. Otherwise, you have to wait for the next hour change after you log on.
  12. How do I become a tester?

We are all testers, basically. When you find a bug or a map bug, just explore it and see if it is truly a bug or something that has already been reported. If it is truly a bug and has not been reported, then post in the appropriate spot in the Development section of the forums. Additionally, sometimes when new features are added to the game, we are notified (often on channel 6) and there is a request made for x number of players meeting some criteria to log on the test server. When there are major updates, even more people get involved in testing as was the case with a recent release of the client w/ new textures.
  13. I like how the NPC list is pinned to the Quest log window so they move together if the Quest log is moved, but the opposite isn't true - that can get confusing if I try to relocate the windows, say I move the NPC list first then try to move the Quest log. It should be all or nothing I think either they are pinned or not pinned regardless of which window is moved. I do like the fact that I can choose whether I want to see the (huge) list of NPCs tho. Outside of that, I think it's great to have the Quest log more prominent. It was somewhat hidden previously, just don't hit Ctrl+Q for "Q"uest log.
  14. normal way to quit?

You can type #exit or hit ALT+X or click the X in the upper right hand corner to close the EL client window; these are all normal ways to quit the game properly.
  15. Windows 7 Color Problems

On the welcome screen click the Options button rather than creating a player or logging in. Click the Details tab and uncheck Shadows to resolve the color issue then try changing the resolution to suit you on the Video tab.
  16. Bloodsucker maps

These maps are unofficial and not supported via official means, e.g. official forums or help channels. Please check the site you downloaded them from for additional help.
  17. v1.9.0

You are in Arius - Arius Mine Entrance [193,199] You are in Arius - Arius Mine Entrance [191,200]
  18. User menu's

Not really an outline or walk-through on setting up user menus but these links should help: the original post on user menus from last May and a post about some new commands added to provide further support for user menus.
  19. Teh_Master

No tweets since September 14. Is this feature discontinued? I've really enjoyed having a record of global message in the past and hope it resumes.
  20. graphics problem

From the welcome screen click the Options button rather than New Player. Go to the Adv. Video tab and disable Use Animation Program at the bottom.
  21. lost charater

holy fucking shit thanks for yuor usefull help with this matter your very kind dont think im didnt notice how long am i locked for? Maybe have a little respect for people who take the time to reply to you as you yourself said the players in this game are so severely lacking. Try posting in Bans.
  22. Alliance chat

Not a bad idea considering many players are already up against the 3 channel limit.
  23. Rate of Enriched Essences

wth, might as well spam this thread. my counters originate here: Log started at 2009-08-05 06:01:46 localtime (Eastern Daylight Time) 231,697 FE => 24 EFE 46,171 WE => 6 EWE i haven't mixed mag or life ess on these counters yet.
  24. @Lorlen: Yeah we're off topic huh? Anyway, I like the ideas. If there is one negative thing I would say about the tutorial it's that it is a lot to read, but even if a player isn't willing to read manuals, tutorial npc dialog or any help text for that matter, they will likely ask the same questions on the help channel(s.) On channel 1, there are often 3 or 4 or even more players who will then all reply with the same or similar answers with each often expounding on some various element of the answer. There is still remedial reading comprehension required no matter how you try to avoid it, a big difference being you don't get easy exp for learning on @1 where to buy sigils to cast the heal spell (as an example.)
  25. If it's an RPG, I definitely read the manual and actually prefer when the production of the game includes a decent manual and not just some skimpy half dozen pages explaining the UI. Some RPGs even go to some length realizing ppl give a shit about the manual and use a nice binding so it will lay flat on a desktop.
