    Never enough damage ! 4x 70hp = 280 hp damage in one shot, sounds great! Some people need to go back to reading class: There is a difference between "4 shots relatively fast" and "4 shots at the same time" I would never think at the same time would be good. to me relatively fast for a crossbow would be say short bow speed or so, and after those four shots it would take normal or longer crossbow speed to reload. Advantage: you can use crossbow bolts (lighter) to fire 4 shots at bow speed with the use of the arrow clip. Possibility of carrying more arrows. Disadvantages: arrow clip can break and if you run out of arrow clips you cannot fire. After those 4 shots you have same or longer crossbow reload before you can fire 4 more.

Ing. 4 crossbows 1 binding stone 1 bronze bar 4 diamonds (for extra bling and or could be diamond gears made in crafting skill for fun ) Tools needed:gemstone hammer and chisel, carving knife To use requires: Arrow Clip (makes 40) Ing. 1 black dragon scale 1 EWE 40 yew Tools: carving knife Gnomish Crossbow loads up to 4 arrows at a time but requires an arrow clip be in inventory to use. Arrow clips have a 1/10(?) chance of breaking while using and if no more are in inventory you cannot fire the crossbow. 4 shots can be fired relatively fast and then the next reload takes longer. Thoughts?
  4. Alternative client

    Interesting idea, the first video posted is made with the UDK engine i think, I've messed around with it for awhile and receive their monthly emails, they just recently released the whole mobile device part and are pushing it hard atm(also allows porting to iphones and ipad). It's definitely powerful but the license on that one for EL would pry be $99 up front then if EL shop ever made over $50k then it would be 25% on any sale.... Stage 3d (formerly molehill) looks a little better as far as no fees. There are several companies using it like Alternativa3D(which may still be using the older molehill not sure)in the second video which attempts to make it easier to transfer your project into flash and just "charges" putting their logo somewhere in the project like at start up etc. interesting stuff but like Schmurk said i'm not sure it's developed much for mmo's yet, remember you can always get great graphics out of a pre-pathed demo because it doesn't have to use system resources for anything else like connecting to the server and interpreting the "random" paths of other rl players.
  5. Banana Serp /Ice and Fire

    I like the idea of adjusting the magic/ice/fire serps, the idea as stated is interesting i would also be interested if they offered something different like: Magic same damage as current with % chance of gaining like 3-7 mana on a successful hit Ice same damage as current with % chance of freezing like axe of freezing (maybe blocked with cold shield?) Fire same damage as current with % chance of burn damage similar to poison(maybe blocked with heat shield?) Dunno maybe these make them to OP but would change up the weapon possibilities and give a little more variety then just adding extra magic/fire/ice damage and would set them apart from the other enchanted weapons.

    I know i'm biased but ninja themed stuff xD (but some of that would look more like armor) Also like the idea of a coat or duster that would be in the cape slot to go over other clothing items, but still have the clothing underneath visible in front. Sashes could also fit in this area and could be fun. Perhaps magical effect tailored items? things that have glow trails or faerie wings etc. no actual benefit in wearing the item they just would look neat. could do some neat things with hats this way too. We have some pirate type items perhaps sailor uniforms and hats? or themes for things from the different EL races or tribes like clothing from the tribes in the Tahraji Desert might be fun and if put on the NPC's add some variety there.

    Let me know I can also test, I have both android tablet and a phone, as well as a rooted phone I let my daughter use that just has wireless access. As far as .apk, it can even be hosted on the EL download page and installed on the phone/tablet you just need to check the "install software from unknown sources" and you need a file manager like Linda file manager to select the apk. The only issue with that I see is then it doesn't give you a download mark from the market which has the possibility of expanding the player base if it becomes popular on android devices. anyways I'll be interested to see how it runs on an android tablet.

I find your comment somewhat childish. I simply think that a depletable resource like this for instances would be a good thing. take the Rdholam out and replace it with books that are used up and then in order for people to use it again they have to buy one. Make it a rare drop like the rdholam so you don't get one every trip it keeps it expensive. Make it so that the NPC can't sell and people can't make so it's a viable resource that goes away over time, instead of sitting on your head never breaking and making other objects in game like CoL's etc. almost obsolete due to price. Sorry if i got this wrong but I thought the suggestions forum was a place to hash out ideas that may one day be included in the game, offering honest opinions from varying angles to come up with the best possible solution for the future player base sustainability of EL........

    Those things are meaningless without FPSs 2.0 client= 56-59 fps while walking etc. drops to 16 fps when switching maps normal= 96-100 fps (capped) with drop to 59 when switching maps

    Tested a bit walking around fighting some mobs and switching maps. Didn't get it to fail but here are my results: I have 4 CPU's atm walking around in 2.0= 36% cpu usage (maxes out one and about 75% of another) walking around in current= 8-16% cpu usage (50% of one core) Also I noticed that the 2.0 version uses about 16% of GPU where normal one uses 37% but that may be due to 2.0 coding being more efficient to process. I put my pc specs back under my siggy.
  13. I guess this is the weak point .. what is still considered participating ? (i think it mainly applies for rangers) Yes i would be interested in knowing what is considered participating for rangers to. Generally if i go to 120+ lvl invance i spend 14k+ on pk arrows, help take down two or three dragons and at least one of the MB's along with helping fighters from the walls. And if i go to 100+ as ranger i spend about the same but i can also fight in that one which means i can get drops that i don't get in the 120+. As a person who has gone to both i do enjoy the option as sometimes i miss one and am able to go to the other. I will also admit that i have gone to both back to back when they were offered that way after pming Aislinn to make sure that was ok as i'm already geared up and just have to buy arrows at time. But if i go as a ranger to either of them i generally loose gc, but i'm ok with that as i gain xp in the end and rangers with pk arrows help in both to take down some of the higher monsters much faster leading to more victories for all. If the system is changed i will obey, but as Entropy pointed out people given the option will go to the one they make most xp on, i would. But fighters replying should also keep in mind that 120+ would loose a good 10 rangers i think if implemented.

    I don't know how much action with be "worth" but i don't think i will be using saving stones when I make the books as(at least to me) the ing. don't add up to over 35k.......

    Interesting idea, as for the Tin being used this might be good but if you do there would have to be two new books: Tin Medallion Building Steadfast Medallion building as tin is not a current item crafters use.
  23. PvP instances

    What about a command like #avoid_pvp playernameX each player can have up to 10 #avoid people on their list which could be viewed by #view_avoided. Having it limited to 10 or so then a player has to choose those they absolutely don't want to have on their team but keeps people from abusing the command and making it to where they can only go with the 3 or 4 people they like to stack the team. If a certain player is avoided by you they can't be on your team but they can be on the opposing team i see no problem with that. If entering this situation you should be prepared for anything the other team throws at you like BroD etc. And if a player has more then say 100+ or 200+ #avoid_pvp against them then the server banns them from pvp instance altogether. Just a thought dunno what it would take to program but might be a way to deal with the potential of having a person on your team purposely trying to let you fail. If a command like this is in place I would like both ideas about equally
  24. PvP instances

    I like aspects of both but atm I like Ent's idea a little more. I really think that adding value to guilds is a good thing, and also give something for guild members something to look forward to if you have some kind of planned event around this system. If there are guild achievements or personal achievements based around the system even better. Plus i'm not keen on the whole random thing. While I understand Korrode's idea of trying to make it as accessible as possible (having spent many hours getting together PvE instance teams) I also know that if I were put in a PvP instance with a random person who screws the team out of winning(or possibility of winning) and then I have to wait for the PvP cool-down counter to run back down or pay a fee to get back into line early to try again with the possibly of being randomly put back in with that player, that would be somewhat frustrating and I would be less likely to use the PvP instance feature in the future.
