Thanks DHT. I had been looking for that file! Turns out it's not there, the server folder hasn't been created. That must happen when the log in succeeds. I'm going to look for older copies of EL folders.... Oops, found it. It's in the Main folder, my Winders settings hid it. Changing the settings still didn't help but they do function.

Hooray, the weather is changing and I can spend more time indoors at the computer! That means more time for EL (I've been pretty sparse lately.) One problwm, and a big problwm... I just had to re-install Windoze to cure a number of glitches, and now EL doesn't work! Seems to be a graphics card issue but nothing has changed and I've done this before with no problems. I'll get back in game eventually for sure, in the meantime if you think you can help wizard my EL back to normal I'd appreciate any help! Here's my post in the Help section: http://www.eternal-lands.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=51442 Thanks, see y'all soon I hope!

Now that's a challenge! I wish you luck, I'm trying to play a char without ever resetting and already getting weak around level 20...

Would be nice to have KF restored to its original state. For extra PK income at the store, I would rather see fancy clothing than alembics or other makeable items. Point being "they who spend cash, win game." Items and features that don't affect game play should be what generates bricks from the PK Server. ....not that I don't want anyone to collect their rightful bricks......

I tweet not, but this might actually turn me into a Twit... thanks Gossip!

Here I am!! *huffity puffity* Run, run, run!! Wee wee wee..... All is not lost, I think RL is proving to be a good year for a change and we are all involved in it! As I type, the delicious odor of spring blossoms (on the pricker bushes) is wafting in the open window and I want to put on my manmuumuu and go frolic with the bunnies in the yard. I haven't given up on EL at all, just overwhelmed with springtime and enjoying it. You will see me in midsummer when the heat hits and the garden needs weeding.... Sy, watch eBay for 'puters. I've come close to getting a company or estate sell out machine for under 100gc. PC of course, but they can run Linux if you are game. If the misters machine runs Win 98 or XP, it should handle EL, probably the graphics drivers. Remember, mine is nine years old and I can play.... I'll be around!

I think the term "within reason" should be applied to number one. Soultaker makes sense although people are still going to be upset at having their harvesting alts beat down over a pick and some coal Note the dates of these posts, this thread was brought back from the dead so some things have changed. For instance: nobody is a 'Judge', MrHide invasions are no more, and there is no 'punishment'. These are just the original agreed guidelines as of a year ago.
-
I hope my contribution here isn't as unpopular as it really is pointless. Of course I don't like my unprotected harv'ers being beat up just because they were found. Nobody does. Still, doing that to me and others is a valid tactic to slow down our levelling, just as killing our fighters might glean some goodies. Yes, I have to admit, this is the PK Server, and I signed up for PK'ing victim or victor. Thus, I can only grumble when swatted down. When I swat back, however, there had better not be any bitching. *Ahem* Just give me another three years... zzzzzzzzzzz.... snort. oink I think the only thing that really disturbs me is when the posts get nasty in the client and I know there are some kids under 12 playing. That is not necessary please.

I'm good for a "no" vote because I think it might drive away new players to a small extent. For myself, it is an interesting change, but I spend most of my time on the PK server as it is.

Heyo Soul! Glad to see you in the forums. I'm hip to your trip, but if you just prey on weak harvesters all the time you'll probably end up as target of the day. I think it's worth choosing stronger enemies and training your way to PK glory! Help yourself to the Piggy clan, it's all alts and AFK half the time, not much of a challenge, but I never carry valuables so... boring. You would be doing lots of favors by following the servers agreed rules: Reasonably clean language in channels, no scamming, and no PK'ing during invasions. Not much to ask and shows honor! Plenty of fun left to have, believe me!

Hi! I'd like to hold a mod announced event and need some advice. There is a post in "Events" regarding the official manager being the person in charge. Two names are mentioned, Iori and Kheres but neither are in the members list (that post is old.) Who do I approach to make the arrangements? Thanks!
-
Lol! Thanks Aislinn (and Daiske1,) I had thought it would be best to run it by someone before I got that far. It's nothing complicated, a character giveaway for the PK Server via a simple Hide & Seek contest. I will post the details in the Events section here well ahead of time to make sure everything is understood. Piggy

Not to grind a quote into the ground... but I'd like to think us players on PK would be able to receive some points for recruiting larger numbers of paying people here, and get some clout as to particular changes or extras. As far as this thread goes, in my opinion it's more discussing ideas than making demands. The Speed Hax was a one~time tryout for those of us who still won't get that experienced for some time, and loads of fun to do!
-
Great thread! I am all for a return of the mercury bags in KF, even if it requires the removal of the No Drop feature. My unpopular opinions of the past still hold. I would like to see fewer high~end weapons, makeable only maybe, not armor though. Also either no rostos available from store or, for the sake of bricks, raise the store price of rostos. Point being that too many weapons and rostos make for too much reckless attacking and less strategic planning. Plus it brings more equality between players when fewer items can be bought from the store and NPC's. Bots, of course can trade anything. Of course I believe it's up to us players to bring more people to the server which is something we sorely need! Edit: Addendum~ Forgot to mention that to make up for the loss of buyable items, how about a positive tweak on EFE probability?

Thanks to MrFancyPants for trading Hardcore to me for Main goods. I'm setting Hardcore up to give away in a contest on main. Probably a simple hide and seek using the Main Piggy clone. Have a great spot to hide on C1! I want to pre~arrange the event for some official blue text announcements, other than that any suggestions and thoughts are welcome. Not used to doing this sort of thing.
-
Thanks, DHT! That's a help. He'll come with a name change, don't worry! I'll pay for it when the time comes. Still have to make the arrangements and play with him a little bit first.

Heyo! Something I have noticed which might have been missed or has been changed without notice, has been bugging me. Back in '06 I left a message here about clicking to move or attack in areas where trees were part of the landscape, click on a leaf and your avatar would turn around and head for the trunk of the tree in the line of sight. This had been re~programmed back then so that clicking on greenery would move avatars to the spot on the ground the cursor was aimed toward. A very helpful fix! The current and last one or two clients have reverted to the old system of 'click in a tree, make hugs with it' which is annoying when hunting critters or PKers... Was this condition overlooked or reinstituted without warning? I can live with it but at low fps it makes for some very difficult hunting.. If it could be reset as all clicks in forest areas go to ground pointed at, I would be greatful! Thanks, Piggy Mugwump Sam

I'm in for the NO vote, Rostos only. Not just because I'm too cheap to spend money and don't want to be overwhelmed by those that do, but because I'd like to see the server grow slowly and evenly with less fancy stuff being carelessly passed about.

"The one thing that is consistent is change" "The one thing people don't like is change" Yeah, I mucked about with the wording of those truisms, but they stand as they are. So what's the big change at the PK Server? All the pro fighters are leaving for various reasons. It has gotten to the point where we can't deal with invasions enough to make them interesting for Radu to bring about. Not good. He may decide at some point to shut the whole project down out of sheer boredom and money loss. Very not good! Why are players leaving? Once leveled to the point of hunting Leonard (not this year for me,) things can get boring. PK'ing harv'ers has no value... high level fighters are few and avoid each other to save their armor and weapons. There are no epic guild vs. guild battles. Some have left just due to the deafening quiet... over a year has passed and we all fit on one channel for chat and marketing. Some players had the time to out-level all of us and just got bored with supplying everything and killing everything with no challenge. Some got sick of being back-stabbed by childish fighters instead of properly challenged on the field. Some just left because of the attitude of others.... Frankly, to all those who left PK without a RL reason I say ~ "Spoil Sport! Poopy Head! Sore Loser!" Get ch'ass back here and put up ya dukes, uglybuns! I'll entertain ya! For a few seconds at least... The point from the beginning of this Forum Category has been to attract more players to the PK Server! Get back here and let's work on that.... the more the merrier, remember? Grrr... go ahead and argue at me, you know I'm right...
