Radu's favourite mistake (Elle in VOTD says this...)
-
I wonder, how mules are able to trade with NPC then? Some secret telekinesis, mere players or bots don't possess? Yeah, it does seem quite weird that we can't trade with bots or players, but with NPCs we can. After all we pay 160gc/min for the privilege of higher EMU, why run the risk of being bagjumped on top of that cost?

Here is your answer to the casting spells idea, look at the post from 13th September: http://eternal-lands.blogspot.com/2008_09_01_archive.html . I remember reading this and being annoyed because the mule was less useful without spells, and the decision to disable spells seemed ad hoc to me, but Radu says in the post that on second thoughts he doesn't want the mule to be so powerful. I don't know why we can't trade. Maybe the best explanation we're going to get is that mules don't have hands.

I have ingredients for 30k FEs at the moment and I'm going to be getting a lot more. I want to trade my ings for FEs at either of these rates: 1 FE = 1 sulphur, 1 red rose, 1 red snapdragon, 1gc 10 FE = 13 sulphur, 13 red roses, 13 red snapdragons. PM me in game (extrapolation) or post here if you're interested, thanks!

I've done a few trades already and don't have much sulphur at the moment. When I have some more I'll try and contact you first

To make it interesting you could offer a small fighting stat bonus for when you get level 50 tailoring or something similar.

Add a link to Alfred Nobel's wikipedia page ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alfred_Nobel ) on the day description, like we have for Aleksei Stakhanov, Joule, etc.

Why stop at one American spelling variant? Ban them all!

I like korrode's idea of shift or alt + up for recalling previous senders of PMs, and for channels with lots of numbers you can already bind an alias to them, so #1 replaces @@123456, for example.

Could it be to do with the player remaining on the same map when they die? (See dipi's post about monsters trying to attack a player who's out of their attack range.) There's another problem with the swamp instance, which is that the respawn-after-death point is also where the last wave spawns, which is pretty dangerous if your cooldown is still running on your dis rings or you have no mana (how about remove cooldowns upon death?). Perhaps both these issues could be fixed with a few seconds of invulnerability after death.

The probability of there being a bug in the random number generator is smaller than the probability of someone out of a playerbase of over 1k not understanding statistics.

That one is my favourite RP description, seriously. I like it for the same reason as I like it when tankel tells you he knew your name because it was written above your head. As a general rule I would agree with your points, but when I see examples like the following: Scientists day English: No knowledge required today (for harvest, manufacture, alchemy, etc.). Role Playing: Umm, just read the English description, I don't feel like making a 'story' about it, it's 12 am and I have to go to work tomorrow. That has never been fixed for a proper role playing description, it's pretty clear that some stuff is in fact "good enough" and not worth the time/effort to make it right. There are things in the game that are clearly intended for humor, but I don't buy that the above is one of them.
