  1. I have two comments on Brom's suggestion (yes, I read it all). First I think that no points should be gained from trying to start a war or lost from denying the request. It would make it too easy for a big guild to get points, ie. Teh uberguild declares war against the weak non fighter guild just for the points, knowing that the weak guild will never accept. Another way would be to have two kinds of points and rankings such as War Points and Diplomacy Points. The War Points would come from kills and surrenders and such and Diplomacy Points would come from Embargos and Alliances and such. The guilds could be ranked by both types of points. The guild with the most War Points would be the strongest and most ruthless and the guild with the most Diplomacy points would be the master negotiators, etc.

The second comment is that moderators are not involved in the guild war thing at all. Guild wars should be between the players and not be controled by the mods, that isn't their job. They have enough to do anyway.

  2. wth is with you people? You will hit the mix button over and over for hours on end but you can't explore for more than a few minutes? If you want to experience the secret areas then find them yourselves.

  3. I like the last two patches a lot. I used both of them on the test server before the update and they are very nice. The error log repeat one is helpful because it is annoying to search through 1000s of entrys of "can't find .../something.caf" to find the error that made the game crash.

I like the default borwser one because I cannot make EL open Firefox with f2 no matter what I have tried. It did work with this patch though.

Just my opinions. I would like to see them in the game. Hope they don't have any bugs or anything like that.

  4. I highly recommend you use something more sophisticated than paint. Something like Photoshop, Paint Shop Pro or The Gimp. You should try to really learn the program instead of just following instructions from someone else though.

  5. I have also made minimaps that I will distribute after test week. I have made all but about four, some inside maps and map21. I have the rest mapped and I'm working on marking place names and taverns, etc.

  6. I downloaded the new ini and modified it a bit to work with my graphics card. I tried it and it worked like before but then i went into the options window and turned on shadow mapping. When I did that the avatar appeared along with the 3d objects. The problem is that there are large white blocks on the ground. This is probably because my card is too old to draw shadow maps correctly.

  7. Much confusion has been caused by people using the phrase custom maps. When people say that you should save your custom maps they mean the .bmp files (tab maps). They will not be 100% accurate but they can still be used. What learner is talking about is the .elm files in the maps directory. If you overwrite new .elm files with the old ones you will cause problems like not being able to leave IP or harvest. The .elm.txt files can be copied over to the new directory without messing anything up. They contain the map marks (green Xs and writing on the tab maps). Hope this clears things up for people
