  1. Perhaps I can place the arrow on a bone attached to the hand, however the arrow would have to appear at a specific frame in the "firing arrow" animation. Is that possible? IOW.. animation starts: hand goes back to grab the arrow.. THEN at that frame the arrow will appear in the animation until it is let go from the string.

I don't know much about 3d stuff, but wouldn't it be possible to have one bone in the quiver and another bone on the arm? When the animation starts the bone in the quiver is visible and the bone on the arm is invisible, but then when the arm reaches back for the arrow the bone in the quiver disappears at the same time as the bone on the arm appears. When the animation is finished the bone on the arm would go back to being invisible and the bone in the quiver would become visible again. This should look like what you had planned on before.

If bones can't be made invisible or if this is what you meant from the beginning then just ignore this.

  2. Its been working perfectly for me since it was first released until i tried to go to Taharaji Desert. I got an Elc.exe has caused an error in ELC.exe error when I clicked the signpost. I tried to log back in and got the same error again. I cecked error_log.txt and I got this:

    Error: Problems loading texture: ./textures/fontv.bmp

    Error: Problems loading texture: ./textures/particle5.bmp

    Error: Problems loading texture: ./textures/particle6.bmp

    Error: Problems loading texture: ./textures/particle7.bmp

Error: ./maps/map15f.elm is an invalid map!

Error: A bag was located OUTSIDE the map!

Error: A bag was located OUTSIDE the map!

Error: A bag was located OUTSIDE the map!

Error: A bag was located OUTSIDE the map!

Error: A bag was located OUTSIDE the map!

Error: A bag was located OUTSIDE the map!

I have Win ME and I do have a map15f in my maps folder, but I do not have those 3 particle files.

  3. The oldest computer that I have is 13 years old now. I don't use it at all but I think it will still run. If I remember correctly, it has a 66 Mhz processor. It was fast at the time. :P It has one of those large floppy drives whose dimensions I can't remember and I think I actually have some of that size still... Had Windows 3.1 on it. Microsoft wasn't as evil back then... It did have a hardrive, but I cant remember how big it was. Used it for 3 or 4 years IIRC.

  4. I like the modified idea except for the quality system part. I'm pretty sure that under the current system, implimenting a quality value of that type would be impossible. It is a unique attribute and those can't be put in; however, a quality system that only encorporates mastry status may be easier to do. It would only make a few varients of one item like a Master's Titanium Serpent Sword or a Layman's Titanium Serpent Sword although if you want to add that status to all items it would get more complicated. Even if it was only added to finished items like armor and weapons it would still be many extra items.

  5. I have played the new version that just came out and it is ok. It has the potential to be really good but right now it's at a pre alpha stage and there are only a few skills that work. Since the new update people can fight and mine though there arent many monsters yet. The graphics are great for a free game and the people are really nice. They are still working out many bugs. Once they have fixed the major bugs they will start adding more features like blacksmithing, crafting, etc. If anyones gonna check it out my name is Agnaro. look me up :D

  6. Because for each guild to have a different color, each guild would have to have a different texture for their armor. All these textures would have to be done made by a good artist or they would make the game look ugly and everyone would have to download every texture so that they could see the colors of the other guilds. There are a lot of guilds in EL and the number is only going up. it is just too much work to impliment.

  7. This was discussed in a old thread and if i recall correctly it was decided that it was a bad idea for them to attack poeple.

Imagine if you were a noob who had just died for the first time. You go to hell and get attacked by a monster. You lose more stuff than you already had lost and then get attacked again. You respawn and die, over and over until you get fed up and quit.

Not good for the game. Chained monsters or monsters that just roam around and dont hurt ppl would be nice though. maybe a zombie, a few spirits and a wandering around. Just for reallity's sake.

Edit: link to old topic is here if you want to read it.

  8. Gnomes should have something like a bonus in manufacture or crafting. Dwarves get the harvesting, elves get ranged weapon bonuses, and orchans get the magic.

    orchans should be fighting

    dragoni should be magic/summoning

Gnomes should have alch and crafting

elves should get potions and organic harvesting

dwarves should have inorganic harvesting and manu

And humans wouldn't be good at anything but not bad at anything either.

  10. I think that harvy should still sell mercury but in a liquid form.

It should require a vial to buy or maybe come with a vial but with 5 quartz added on to the price.

I think that the place where mercury could be harvested should not be reacable by normal means.

I think that there should be a random chance of going to the mercury place when you switch maps.

The chance could increase with your magic level as it would be easier to see "the portal to the mercury mine" with a more experience in the magical arts.

Once you get there you should be able to get back to where ever you just came from through a door.

The mercury would be there in a pool i liquid form and would require leather gloves (to protect from poisoning) and vials.

Maybe, if its possible, one could not get to the mine if they have switched maps in the last minute to prevent ppl go into and out of building quickly just to get to the mine.

I think that this would raise prices more than an easily accessable mine because if the mine could be accessed normally then there would be very little change.

Just one more thing to harvest before you can make your bars. the cold and glove req wouldnt make much difference and the vials would just get ppl to make more trips without stopping them much.
