  2. I would agree that the current implementation makes no sense. The farther away you are, the LESS likely it would be for the monster to "see" you can attack. If anything, being too close could draw him off, but not being farther away.

    +1

  4. If your password was saved to where it allowed you to log in then the password should be accessible in your browser settings.

I only managed to log back into the forums because (Miracle upon miracle) my log-in data got transfer over to my new computer after upgrading,
but I have none of my game data. I actually don't even remember my password for the forums so I'm wondering if someone could help me out there.

  5. "The ones who think they are crazy enough to change the world, are the ones who do." - Steve Jobs

I believe this will open up to more combinations for invances, instances, invasions, drops, methods for killing and variety that the game can sometimes need.

  6. I voted no for a variety of reasons:

    1. The system is flawed, increasing caps doesn't remove the flaw, it will only magnify it

    2. Top level gold farming is already to easy, hurts the economy (except for gc seller's wallet) and increasing or eliminating caps will only exacerbate the problem

    3. If you're trying to improve the attr system fix it, don't try to polish a turd. I suggest the following:

    a. remove primary attributes

    b. use pp's to directly choose xattr's

    c. create an emu xattr

    d. create a hp xattr

    d. remove emu and hp attr from might, coord, and will

    e. uncap x attr's

    f. increase pps from 1 per oa to something around 2.25 per oa

    g. have fun

    4. If you want to discuss something important to the game, discuss removal of mini events or a perk where you can trade the extra gc and xp from the mini events for relief from the mini event harv stoppage

    go go go discuss.

    edit: xattr=cross attributes (for lelugo)

I also support this and would vote yes for it.

  7. The game is different now than it was in the past when caps were added. One of the biggest reasons is that restore is no longer full health (requires magic+rationality to increase now). If caps were completely removed instantly and people went to their old builds, they would actually be worse than they are now.

In example, consider LuciferX's build from before caps:

    http://s173.photobuc...e_caps.jpg.html

This build has high coordination so it will hit/dodge and do a ton of damage when it does. However, it has almost no rationality, with a maximum restore of 226 and a mana pool of 80. This char would not be able to tank any creature that has mirror skin...it would die to its own mirrors or run out of mana very quickly and have to use a diss ring very quickly. In pk, this character does not have high health so it can be killed easily with bombs or harm.

So basically what I'm saying is, if caps were removed, people would still need to think through their builds now...the all coordination build is archaic and would not be as OP as it used to be. So, personally I'm for the change.

    @luke12

why make it so those who only do 140s~ invasions and not even capped in anything besides 2-3 attributes mess around? if you aren't even close to maxing attributes how would it be any different then now? sure you could harm more or you could dodge/hit more... pots already do that though.

    - soLo

People who don't have capped attributes are the ones who actually have to think through their builds. People who have bought enough pp to max their attributes now will probably be able to max attributes whenever caps are raised. What's more important is making it possible for people to be creative and experiment to find what works best for them..not to have everyone be the same (like they are now).

    -RM

RM has pretty much summed up most of what I wanted to convey in my post. I believe this change would be just a baby step to what could be so much more.

I believe the game has progressed to a point where caps aren't even needed anymore, there's been soo much progression with implemented mobs (which require strategy to kill, not just tank and spank) and skills and items that influence other types of gameplay which would be benefited ever so slightly even by a +4 increase.

  8. Well to be honest, it's probably a lot easier just investing the gold into a crown or red drag helm of life and mana. You can safely take another 4-8 physique and still get pretty decent exp on ogres. As for vitality, you can take it to ~12-16 and notice a big difference but unless you remove will I don't see you getting it anytime soon.

  9. You're already at the optimum might xattr for ogres but your goal isn't optimum exp/hour, it's to survive constant lag spikes.

Before I can recommend what attributes you should progress with I need some more information.

I need to know what armor you use to train in, whether you use a CoL or RDHoLaM or neither and your a/d progression goal.

Just a quick note about about Raz's recommendation of the evanescence perk, at your defense/reaction you already block ogres 90%, evanescence won't be as beneficial as some more toughness to soak up damage, however once you reach armed orcs (your next progression mob after ogres)/any other mob that crits often, evanescence is well worth the investment.

  10. With toughness you also make more damage, witch might drop the exp rate. Another solution is to get high coordination, good armors and col. Train on monsters that don't attack you and always have more life than a monster can take in a fight. I admit it is a little risky because you need expensive armors and you don't want to drop those when you die, but if you do it right you shouldn't get to that:)

You need to be able to kill at least 3 monsters before you need to restore. Using potions of br is even safer because you can always keep your life full.

Also note that, later in the game, a pickpoint saved will worth more than a titanium set:D

Toughness doesn't increase the damage you do, might does. Coordination will also increase the damage he does because of the might xattr.

  11. +10 mag damage would be justifiable imo. Iirc BDS costs 110k and rad rapier about 160k? Rad rapier gives +15 rad damage and BDS only +5 magic damage, so according to those numbers, BDS is overpriced or underpowered. I think it would be better to raise the mag damage to 10, since dropping the price is bit harder.

Another possibility to ponder.. give it +15 magic damage, raise the ingredients to equal the cost of a radioactive rapier with the same break rate and add it to the shop with the same break warranty/cost as a radioactive rapier.
