  1. Bot payments

Apologies if this isn't the correct forum for this, but, I'm new at being a Guild-Master and suddenly "owning" bots. LLL has 2 Store-Bots (Lord_Legend, owned by me and Princess_Legend, owned by Wuffzel), a Guild-Storage Bot (Book_Legend, which I assume I own) and our Guard-Bot (Knight_Legend, again, assumed owned by me). I have absolutely no clue when any of these are up for payment; and, to be perfectly honest, I'm not entirely sure how much each will cost (the turnover was a bit hasty). Any information would be greatly appreciated (and, written down!) Gil_Manel
  2. Standard Policy for guilds

I've only been GM of LLL for about a month, now, so I'm still working my way through many of the ins and outs, but, I can see some value to this idea. One of the things that attracted me to LLL, back when LadyBea was still GM, was its list of Allied Guilds: that told me quite a bit about LLL. On the other hand, I can understand the objections raised here...many of us have very specific Guild rules about certain things, and it could be difficult to fit everyone into categories or rules. Still....and interesting idea, and I'm curious to see where it goes.... Gil_Manel
  3. New Forum skin

Running FireFox 3.6.10 here, and only "glitch" I can see is there's no "Go to Shop" when I hover my cursor over that link...all links appear to be in their proper places, though. Overall, it's a huge improvement over the default we've been using, and, a marked improvement over the old forum...I love it! Gil_Manel
  4. Help With a Guild Map, Please

Hiya...since the last major client update (when a number of maps had some problems with entrances/exits) our Guild-Map (LLL) has had a couple of problems (prior to that, the map had worked fine for several years). I've recently taken over as Guild-Master, and *thought* these problems were being resolved, but, haven't been able to get in touch with the person I thought was fixing them...and, at this point, all I want to do is to get things working again. The problems we have are that the exit from the map no longer works (need essies, beam or a ring to leave) and we can't get into our Guild Hall; there used to be a number of other working doors, but, those are minor items...if they could be easily fixed, great...if not, no big deal. If a map-maker could please get in touch with me, either in-game or via PM here, so we could discuss what needs doing and how much it will all cost, I'd really appreciate it. I'm almost always in-game early in the day (US EST) to early-afternoons, but, can adjust my schedule, if needed. Thanks for any assistance... Gil_Manel
  5. Help With a Guild Map, Please

Thanks, all...for the moment, my main concern was in regaining access to our Guild Hall, as well as having a working "exit" from the map...both of which *should* have been taken care of right after our last client update (I've just taken over as Guild Master)....Roja was kind enough to take care of those issues for us (Thank you, Roja!!). But, I *will* keep y'all in mind if/when we decide to fix some of the other issues with our map (all eye-candy, and, not really important...just nice to have!). Appreciate the offers and the help! 6. wb forums

Seems to be completely random...I lost history, avatar and siggy....easy enough to fix and if this forum is stable, small price to pay Gil-Manel
  7. LLL is Actively Recruiting

Lords and Ladies of Legend is one of the oldest Guilds in the Eternal Lands; as newly-installed Guild-Master, I would like to invite those of you looking for a Guild to chat with any LLL members you happen to see, or, to PM me, in-game. Our first order of business is to have fun...EL *is* a game, and we want our membership to enjoy themselves. We have Guild Projects that our members are welcome to join...or, not...we have no compulsory activities. We hold Guild Competitions quite often, that are fair and balanced so that, no matter what your skill levels, you have a chance at a really good prize. We have Quests, where our members can test their skills and grow in stature within the Guild. Our Guild Chat-Channel can, at times, be a bit boisterous, as we DO like to have fun. But, it's also a place where advice is freely given and help is never more than a shout away. Take a look at our Guild Pages, at http://www.guildportal.com/Guild.aspx?Guil...mp;TabID=656051 If you happen to see me or any of my Guildies wandering around, say "hi"...we'll be happy to chat with you about LLL or, if it turns out that we're not exactly what you're looking for, we may have suggestions for other Guilds. 8. **Generation X**Harvesting** - the 3rd Degree

Howdy... 10k silver 10k coal 10k sulfur please and thank you! Gil_Manel
  9. 3 months of EL playing

Makuyi, it's great seeing that you're not only still in the game, but, are advancing and having fun! We've chatted a few times in-game, and I enjoy your thoughts and comments. I think your suggestion about a separate "newbie chat" channel is excellent. As has been mentioned, it wouldn't work as part of newbie help, but, as its own entity, it'd be great, I think. As you say, it'd be something that would be used early in the game and most players would eventually leave it...but, I think it'd enhance a new players experience. And, to my mind, anything that helps new players is a good thing for EL. And, I'll echo what so many have already said about Guilds: there are many which do not "require" members to do a thing. While we may have Guild competitions and different projects, they're always voluntary, and most of us do understand that people have a life outside EL, so there's not a problem with "I can only be here for an hour or so". Plus, Guilds give you a ready-made source of advice, suggestions, assistance and friends. It's comforting knowing that, if I decide it's time to move up to a new nasty critter, I can have a guildie come along for moral support (as well as grabbing my DB, should things not go well!). Or, more than just moral support: Haidir gave me tigers for my daily, and, there was NO way I'd have been able to handle 'em without a ranging Guildie along to "weaken" them a bit for me. Enjoy this great game...have loads of fun...that's the most important thing! Gil_Manel
  10. Small survey about EL and EL shop

One of the "more mature" (physically, anyway) folks here, I guess, at 54...in the USA...retired/disabled....been playing computer games since my first Radio Shack Color Computer, with a whopping 16k of RAM... 1. Friends...chatting in Guild and with others. Although, I do enjoy the game itself, of course! 2. Been doing fantasy-games since the original D&D came out...it's all Tolkien's fault. 3. If I recall (memory is the first thing to go), I googled MMORPG, or, whatever they're called and someone ended up here. 4. Daily...when I'm not falling down stairs or having mild heart-attacks... 5. I've fiddled with Istaria, but, they want money for too many things....used to be a really cool text-based game that was focused on the Middle-Ages that I liked (eons ago) 6. Yup, I've bought a few things from the shop. Gil-Manel
  11. Removal Stones - where did you find one?

Coordination removal, valerian closest to TG storage.

  13. Special Days

My guildies have mentioned this, too...and, I agree with Paul, there's a happy balance between too many and too few....even the "bad" special days (whaddaya mean, I can't harvest??!?!!?) make things interesting...
  14. views after 2 weeks of playing this game

Great message, Makuyi, and filled with some good insights. You've also got some very thoughtful and helpful responses and suggestions. I hope you continue to find EL fun...it *can* be overwhelming, and, it really is a game where you'll continually be learning, but, it's also amazing and hugely entertaining. Chat with people...make friends...explore the various Guilds with the #guild_info <tag> command or simply by asking folks with Guild tags...look at the Guild web-sites...don't be in a hurry to join one, but, take your time and find one that most closely matches the way YOU like to play EL. Continued success and fun!
  15. I finally got there \o/ :)

Gratz on the level! That's really a cool image...I'm always caught off-guard by harvest levels...don't give it the attention it really deserves...I'm a few levels from OA100, but, none of my skills are close...yet.
  16. First off, a big hoorah to everyone involved in the work on 1.9...the graphics are incredible...seems a little thing, but, as Usl mentioned, the trees are awesome, as are some of the other "little" details... It won't surprise my Guildies at all, but, I'd *love* to see more clothing choices and color choices...not just for the tailoring skill, but, at the lower-to-mid range of the manufacturing skill, as well. Rather than a single "fur-torso," for example, have a fox, a wolf, a rabbit, etc. In the tailoring skill, some additional colors and/or styles would be nice...particularly for pants, hats and boots. 17. Harvester medallion

My logs only go back as far as November, as I'd uninstalled EL during an illness...at the moment, they show 25 HMs destroyed, but, the truth is far different. When I first came back to EL, I simply put on the HM anytime I was harvesting, and during that period (a bit over a month), I lost 21 of the things. Then, I started checking my Harvest astro numbers on a VERY regular basis. Now, if that number is above about a +5 or so, I simply do not wear an HM when harvesting; when the number is below that value, I wear an HM for ALL harvesting. During that 3-4 month period, I have only lost 4 HM...and, as I say, I wear them no matter what I'm harvesting, and wear them through the harvest...i.e., whether I'm getting harvest points, or, not. Over the period of November to today, I've got over 950k harvests, received over 210k in Queen of Nature Blessings, and, found 16 various stones. Don't know if this experience is common, or, if Mother Nature is simply giving me a false sense of security...but, there it is.... Gil_Manel
  18. Emote Suggestions

Most of the ones I'd thought about (also, from chatting with fellow LLL Guildies) have already been mentioned, but, I'll second them...some of the others here are also great! *bow *curtsy *salute *dance *point (would be a useful thing, when showing someone around) LOVE the emotes! Gil_Manel
  19. daily quests

I like the idea of daily quests, especially if there may be some for skills other than combat; I've done one of the a/d dailies, and, thoroughly enjoyed getting those a/d points... Gil_Manel
  20. HAPPY XMAS

A Very Merry Christmas from all of us in Lords and Ladies of Legend, as well! Gil-Manel
  21. CEL Site Update

No complaints or bug notices or anything other than a general "thank you" for one of the best information sites for EL! It must take a helluva lot of work to keep the site up, and, it's greatly appreciated by this Elf! Gil_Manel
  22. How Did You Get Your EL Name?

Been playing role-playing games since the first pamphlet-versions of D&D came out, lo, these many years ago....and, I've read everything ever written by JRR Tolkien (more times than I can remember)....so, it just seemed natural, when I was creating my main character (an Elven fighter/magic-user) that I used Tolkien's Quenya and Sindarin "languages"....I've always been fascinated by astronomy; I'm from California; and, I've been involved in music and singing since childhood.....soooo, combined all of that into Gil-Manel Numeniello, which (very loosely!) translates to "Shining Star Western Singer"....and, I've used that name in every RPG since....
  23. Constant "Resync with server"

A year or so back, my room-mate and I both played EL on our computers, with no problems. We stopped for a while, and recently came back to the game. I re-installed everything and have had no trouble whatsoever. My room-mate, however, has had nothing but trouble. First off, he's running an Athlon XP 2800+, at 2.08ghz, with 512mb RAM. He has an NVIDIA GeForce FX5200, which I believe has 128mb of VRAM; did discover that his driver was outdated, so installed version 6.14.11.7516, dated 5/2/08, which should be the very latest. The symptoms are: when he starts EL from the desktop, he gets the opening screen, and then the black screen with all the GL stuff and welcome to Eternal Lands; there's no sound, however. He clicks on the screen, and gets to the log-in screen...logs in, and a few moments later he's on Isla Prima, but, his FPS is almost always 0, and he gets a "Resync with server" message every few seconds. It never changes and, obviously, is unplayable. He's made no other changes to his computer, other than the exact same Windows updates (XP Home SP3 for us both). We both use the exact same security suite with the same settings. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! David
  24. Constant "Resync with server"

Yaaaay! Installed the update, and that appears to have fixed his problem. Thanks for the help! David
  25. Constant "Resync with server"

Thanks for the response, and the info on the driver; I've installed it on his computer, but, it had no effect, unfortunately. Following the link you provided to the release candidate, I found and downloaded "el_170_last_rc"....is that the same thing? If so, do I simply execute it, leaving the existing Eternal Lands alone? Thanks, again, for the assistance! David
