  1. The Jewel Monkeys of Kusamura

((Im in a very Joking mood... Heh.)) Brom watched the two fight, not daring to interfear when such magics were being used, not even mentally. If one of them was to turn his magic on Brom, he could not protect himself aducately. The two stopped when Kendai started shaking, Dark ran over and placed a greenish slimy potion on Kendai's inner lip, so that it dropped down into her mouth. Then he fell to the floor. "These undead are strange folk!" Brom muttered to himself while trying to rise Dark from the ground. In his attempts however, he failed, Dark still lay motionless on the ground, unable to die. Then with a louder voice so that people in the cabin could hear he said, "We must find those Jewel monkeys very quickly, no more waiting or disturbances." A decision split Brom's mind and he chose one, acting on it. He calmly walked outside and raised his voice so that all could hear. "We will be leaving immediately, going through the night and not waiting on anything, if someone falls behind, they stay behind unless they can catch up, It is imperitive that we reach these jeweled monkeys immediately!" The boat was close to the docks now, Sailors were running about throwing ropes to men ashore and the ship was being pulled in. Ladywolf walked over with a look in her eye that Brom could not read. He did not care at this point, Helping Kendai was his primary concern and he would put forth 120% until she was either cursed for life or healed. He walked to the railing of the ship and rolled out a map taken from the insides of his leather jerkin. We will need to run north-west, Then we will need to find the temple and somehow get into it as fast as possible. Are you with me Lady? I might be acting like a madman, but my thoughts are clear. ((We just landed at "12" Kusamura is "9" It is a jungle map, and full of interesting creatures, none of which reside on Serdia))

((Pokes Kendai and says, "Yep, shes dead, throw her over!" Hehe. Ill post later.))
  3. The Jewel Monkeys of Kusamura

Brom was in a rage. This... This.. Undead spits out words as if he were Bane himself. Still if there was a chance, Brom would take it to save a friend. Brom pondered for the right words to ring true to this.. undead.. Dark. "Dark Nightmare" Brom said with a formal voice, "Will you spout out these lies and leave or will you stay with us and help to see that they are true?" There, Brom had him, and he would keep that undead under his watchful eye the entire time. Brom did not wait for a response, he knew the answer with the look in the undeads complextion. He strode out of the ship to where a man garbbed in white was now looking over Ladywolf's shoulder. Brom went over to introduce himself as Lady appeared to be a friend.

((Im not sure, that part is kind of hazy. but I think it was Bethurc when he saw "Another undead!"))
  5. The Jewel Monkeys of Kusamura

((Guys, that was a joke, Out of character...Hehe! To my knowledge Kendai is still in that dreamlike state where her body appears dead.)) Brom reached out and grabbed the ... being ... by the arm and pulled him back from Kendai, slamming him against the wall, "Who What and Why are you here? Speak quickly." Brom was not afraid of the creature, at that moment he was immune to any pain and thus feared little. He had envoked the name of Bane, he may be one of the Brotherhood, then again he may be cursing Bane. Until Brom was sure of this creatures intentions he was not about to let him go.
  6. Crash at start (gentoo issue)

I think it may have to do with permissions to your graphics card belive it or not. This is what I want you to do. Go to a terminal and type the following commands. cd /usr/share/games/eternal-lands gdb el.x86.linux.bin <Once gdb starts.> run el.x86.linux.bin Now, gdb is a debugging tool, it also shows where the program actually crashes. If you do not have gdb you may want to consider "emerging" it. Happy hunting!

[[Out of character post]] Brom strode into the room and watched as Kendai gasped and fell, She appeared to be dead and the healers actually relaxed a little, it was over, she could rest now and so could they. Brom walked over and said. "She is not dead! only in a dreamlike state, the only thing that can bring her back to us is loves first kiss!" Brom bent over Kendai and prepared to give her a kiss. Kendai woke up and kissed Brom passionately! Both started laughing and soon the whole room was erupting in laughter. "You broke character!" Brom said to Kendai. "You did first!" countered Kendai. They all decided to go back a few minutes and start again. I could not resist!

I could record by voice in a warcry. Then you could give a warcry before attacking.
  9. Just curious, where the idea from, then ? His dark side. Honestly Im not sure I like it, very powerful yes. But I would rather see other spells come in first.
  10. Its a programming difficulty, and to be quite honest I do not think anyone has submitted a good way to pull it off yet. Its not easy to build missle weapons into a 3d world and make it look good. A quick method to do this would simply have the player hold the bow and have arrows. One arrow disappears from the quiver and...this is the wrong post I suppose.
  11. Dungeons & Drag-, erm..., Bosses

With all due respect, I do not like it. I see the need for fighting boss monsters and killing them for a prize, but "Bosses" in an MMORPG are hard to do, since someone lower leveled sees him as a boss and a higher level sees him as a spawn point. We could build an idea like this into the game right now. If your character (And a friend or two of similar level) kill a larger foe (For example a fluffy rabbit) they would receive a higher chance for a good drop, a much higher chance. This, I think, will cause people to fight enemies above their levels more often, and increase the use of those weapons that we really dont use while training (Well I do but most I have seen dont)
  12. crowns!

That is correct some examples: http://www.oiyea.com/pics/tiara/tiara3.jpg ^ Aisi's personal collection ^ I like them. Good call.
  13. The Jewel Monkeys of Kusamura

((Got to work early, Here is the time I wanted. )) Brom, my shoulder is dislocated, nothing major, but I'm in too much pain to set it by myself." Brom had a slight smile then responded with, "Ha! we both seem to have dislocated our arms within a week of eachother, see if you can get ready, Ill be over there in a second to set it back, be prepared for pain." Brom finished tying a bandage around a sailors wounded bicep. Brom said while pulling out a small vial from a bag, "Drink this then wait one hour, then move that arm around as much as possible. You will fully heal from this." Brom walked toward the other side of the boat where Ladywolf was set and ready for the pain that would soon hit her. ((Perhaps Zelse the white mage healer knows a way to heal your arm fully. ))
  14. The Jewel Monkeys of Kusamura

((You mean a plot for YOUR CHARACTER right? The RP will go wherever it goes, we all have control of it. You may bump it this way or that, but know that in roleplaying you rarely get exactly what you want...or even what you wanted at all, That is the fun it it! Go with the flow and enjoy creating your character, not the story. Im going to bed, I will post more tomorrow should I find time.))
  15. The Jewel Monkeys of Kusamura

((Welcome Zelse, I know you have been heading up a lot of RPing in game lately, you are more than welcome. Also welcome back DN, I do not know exactly what you have planned so I will just call you a man for now.)) "I count 3 of ours dead, several more wounded, how about you?" Brom fell out of his fighting trance now that all of the undead foes were removed from the ship. He watched as the sail then the rest of the ship caught fire and it began to sink. "The bloody work is done, I guess it is now time to count the totals and make things right again. I counted four of ours dead, all sailors. Two taken by arrows, one in swordplay and the last was shoved off and since no one could get to him, he drowned when an undead fell on him and snapped his neck." Brom paused with the memories flooding through him. "Most are injured, only a few with fatal wounds, including Kendai who sustained a very nasty stab in the side. She passed out a few moments ago, I am not too concerned about her at this point because she seems stable physically, something was twisted with the blade that cut her. It has put her outside of my reach, but she is still alive. I cannot help her and we can only heal her body, She must fight against whatever evil plagues her" Brom thought Ladywolf knew enough now of him and his "abilites" that she would not ask how he knew who died and how. A small depression fell upon Brom, just as it did after any conflict where people were killed in bloodlust. A glimmer of hope shined into his mind. "I can still help people feel better at this time." Brom said to himself, then resolved to do it then. He looked around and found he was harmed little, cuts on shoulders and arms were common, his leather vambraces under his sleeves were cut through, he would need to repair or fix them, but besides that He was fit as a fiddle, and with pleanty of energy suprisingly. With a strong voice aimed at the captain of the vessel who was holding his arm, "We must sail to the nearest town on the main continent, we will get off there, take what crew you have and get us going. I trust your good work and I will leave you to it, Please tell us if we can help, until then we will see to the wounded." A nod from the captain showed he was up to the task and started ordering his men around the ship to repair lines that were cut and check the stabilty of this and that, Brom stopped listening, now focused on the wounded...
  16. Or if you really feel ambitious, edit your xml files to make the monsters bigger, then they are easier to click. I once was sitting in Port Antitora fighting spider skunks. It was fun...Ok dont do that. ;P
  17. More sounds

I do not think this is out of the range of programming, (Then again Im not coding this game) It would be a quick and good addition to the game. We already have lightning strikes and sounds when you walk near a teleportal. Music in the game. why not birds singing and weapons clashing sometimes?
  18. Zelse Productions Presents....

Did we ever make any progress on that EL Camera? We could record it and it would be a great addition to EL.Net IMO
  19. Snow Bound

((We could Announce in game. But I fear that would attract some people that would cause trouble. ))
  20. The Jewel Monkeys of Kusamura

((Ohhh, now this is fun! For some reason I like to describe fighting scenes. )) "Brom, I'm not sure how well my shoulder has healed. I will fight my best. Where do you want me?" "Fight with the rest of us, we know eachothers strengths and will complement eachother, If you can, seek out those who are the best fighters and kill them first." Brom said over the mental link to Ladywolf. When she got close enough Brom said, "Dont worry about the arm, It will soon be filled with adrenaline, which will temporarily heal any wound, at least as far as your mind knows!" "Arrows, duck for cover!" came from Kendai as she vaulted out of the lower level. Brom rolled forward to the railing and hid behind it as the arrows wizzed overhead, many embedding themselves into the deck of the ship, quivering. Brom reached out with his mind now, grasping very living thing into his mind so that he could feel the battle about to happen around him. Sailors stuck with arrows in many places, Brom felt one soul slip from his grip. "One down" he thought to himself. Now in the mental mindset needed for battle, Brom stood to watch the undead skeletons leap incredible distances from their boat to ours. "Throw them into the water when you can!" Warcrys erupted from the red and black mouths of the skeletons followed by a surpirsingly powerful warcry from the ship of sailors and serdians. Broms first tactic was to not let any of the more agile actually grab hold of the ship. The first jumpers could just hang on to the railing, Brom ran down the length of the starboard side, hacking at arms, blood spirting across the railing. An arrow wizzed past his ear, Brom recoiled, found the archer on the opposite boat. With a touch of fire and earth, Brom cut the bowstring from a distance. Brom yelled over a mental link to all of those who were not undead. "Kill the archers" Many people looked around, not knowing where the communicae came from. Looks crossed the faces of the Serdians who knew his tricks. Skeletons were boarding now, they were in range to jump across and boards were being laid across. Here is where Brom lived, on the boards between the ships. He could easily leap from the gangplanks or on the railings of the ships and move his blade in fantastic arcs. Using the sense of all living things, he could easily sense things happening around him and avoid them, also find weaknesses and exploit them. It was a blur dancing on the boards high above the water. Small wounds would appear on his body and Brom wondered where he got them. All too soon the pirates were retreating back to their ship and trying to pull away. Brom lept from the railings of the pirate ship and vaulted off the shoulders of a pirate running back to his ship. He landed neatly on the opposite side of the ships railing, He spun to make sure the coast was clear, a few fights were still happening here and there, Kendai was locked in combat with two of the undead fiends. Brom charged into the fray, yelling something he did not even understand. This would often happen with Brom when his blood was pumping in the thrill and dance of war, he would yell things he did not understand and later get some funny remarks from people that heard him. It did not matter, "All is fair in war and love." Brom told himself, then plunged his titanium longsword into what upper body cavity the undead skelleton had.

Shhh. That secret skin is supposed to remain secret.
  22. Ive always thought we should have something like this. Though I was thinking something more along the lines of a Tab in the inventory window. Here is a picture of an OLD CLASSIC RPG that I highly recommend playing called Castle of the Winds. In it they used a simple system that would take Programmers little time...I think. Something such as that, though I hope we can have some better graphics. The words say (For those that cannot read them...) Things like, Left Ring, Right Ring, Armor, Overgarment, Cloak, Mediallion, Weapon, Free hand, etc. Ugh, I still could use a good host. ;P
  23. Snow Bound

"Ladywolf, I saw you following but I do not feel you a threat so I let you follow." Lan said with a strange tilt of his head. "Is anyone else with you? Why were you following us? And more importantly" Lan paused for a moment then said, "Thank you for your help to me a few years back, Your help which probably seemed small at that point, started me on my tasks and helped me reach the Brotherhood. I trust you, but my trust is still slim because we have not kept in contact over the past years." Lan found himself being quite rude and corrected it. "Please come inside, If you were following us, you are likly as cold and tired as we are." Lan let Ladywolf inside, then looked out the door once more, eyes searching for any sign of movement or a flash of eyes, Then closed the door. "Let me buy you a drink, however I cannot stay and drink, I have the watch tonight, If you will be continuing with us tomorrow talk to Pennifuin, he can fill you in on what is going on, if he asks questions of you, refer him to me, I will be upstairs, before I go up, do you have the answers to those questions I asked you?"
  24. The Jewel Monkeys of Kusamura

((HECK YES!, Im all for a Pirate attack!)) Brom fell into combat mode, he yelled to the captain, "Get all yer hands on deck, pirates are sailing at full steam toward us! If you have any weapons or armors get them ready!" "All of those with me, To the stern half of the starboard side..." Brom added with an underthought, "That means this side toward the rear of the ship!" Brom stampped his foot so that people could find him easier. "Sailors toward the bow of the starboard side!" Men and what women they had began to move about the deck, readying weapons and streching out, ready to move at a moments instance. "Does anyone have a spyglass so that we can see them before they reach us?" Berthec ran up to Brom and handed him a long tube with a crystal embedded in the tip to enhance the distance that could be seen. Brom lifted the spyglass to his eye and looked toward the ship. It was much to close, He could see every detail of the dragon carved into the prow. "Its too close, can I bring the vision closer to me?" A quick reply and a short lesson showed Brom that he could turn the crystal for different distances. Now that he could see properly Brom found the sailors on deck were lacking skin and commonly body parts, all had wickedly curved blades and most were rusted. "UNDEAD!" Brom yelled. "Lets hope the curse of mortos does not fall on them! If they are cursed the same as us, We will need to get them in the water after we kill them, so when they come back they cannot stand up and fight us again! Prepare yourselves." Brom took his staff and made a wide arc around him so that he had all the room he needed, then stared with determination toward the ship now comming up on their starboard side. "Bloody pirates." Brom mumbled to himself. Then leaned over to whoever was next to him, it proved to be Berthec the rouge, "Pirates fight mean, they have no honor, so be sure to give them none in return."
