  1. What race are you.

I wish to dispel a common misconception, Draegoni are actually distant cousins to Gnomes and we do not like eating them. However I understand Orchans to have a taste for Gnomes. I will not say ALL Draegoni refrain from eating gnomes, because some of the more twisted ones do, just as I know a few humans and at least one dwarf who like to eat Gnomes. Anyway, we need to stop commenting about eating gnomes, Its bad enough that it goes on. If any more comments are made about eating or discrimating against gnomes, the GCA will be after you!
  2. What race are you.

Blue Horned and winged Draegoni, Previously a human.
  3. The paradox of our times

Im not sure who wrote it, but I do enjoy it. Here is an interesting article. http://www.snopes.com/politics/soapbox/paradox.asp
  4. The paradox of our times

Incredible, Who is this author and what language is his native? I am seriously tempted to learn whatever his native tounge is so that I can see more of this indiviuals works. Incredible.
  5. credit card

We had something called a "Cash Card" In one of my games, where it was a way to have the card on you and that card had access to your entire store of coins, In this way you could simply carry around a card and not all of those gold coins. We could buy them at General stores and they could cost around 200gc.
  6. Pat the animals

No petting of the humkey! Or Ill put that humkey back in a crate and send him back to Roanof!...Ok you can pet the gnomes...But ONLY if they agree to it. Interesting idea KO, not too shabby.
  7. For the UK people

LG! Send me a darn copy! Why cant we get this mag in the US? Ive seen LinuxFormat on the shelves...
  8. 1. The reason the range to attack things is not larger is the monsters have the same attack range. Thus it would be nearly impossible to sneak by a high level monster. 2. Play the game and you will find better things to post here. EDIT: How did Aisy beat me! She must have fingers of fire!
  9. Caravan Guarding

Quite doable for an event, combined with a well organized invasion. But I think you should read the idea with Ships and add this idea to it. You see, if we have ship voyages attacked, you could build a system like this easier. You are a highered fighter for a ship..There is a good term but I do not know it... Merchants Guard? Anyway then you could go on ships and the ship masters could pay you for fighting off their attacks. ;P But all in all, this is a long ways out IMHO
  10. Gumbi and the Talking Bears

Ill be honest, I like it, yes it rings of a few other things, but a perfect tale one would tell to a small child while in Irilion. However I think the end needs to be reworked it is...Cheesy I know its a kid's story but it truly is killing me with the over-the-top cheese. If I may give it a try. The next day, Gumbi was absolutly starving! and lacked the strength to hunt. He was fast asleep when he was awoken by a sudden flash outside his window. He got up and looked out the window. There, outside, were the three bears! They all said in unison "We would like to thank you, Gumbi, for sparing our lives. And true to our word, we will reward you." The bears smiled with teethy grins and walked away, leaving fruit and vegtables behind in a pile for Gumbi. The three bears would come again and again if ever Gumbi was in need of food. Gumbi learned that kindness always has it's benefits. Eh, mine is kind of cheesy too. But I like it, good child's story.
  11. The Ocean Strider's Voyage.

My original idea was to do what I did, (Compile and edit the posts, rearrange them and set it so that it flows well) But then after I planned on re-writing the story from a few point of views. Mainly Brom's (Since I know his the best) Kendai as she was the evil one and One other, either Pennifuin or Dunian, using those people we could describe what was happening around us and form a true story, rather than a conglomerate mess of views from everyone and their dogs!...Excuse me Humkeys.
  12. Fighting System

Yes Dunian, good system. Though I am fairly sure Entropy has an idea of how to change the combat system. Ill wait until he releases his new idea before putting more out. I trust Entropy in this, he will make us a good fighting system.
  13. Hi ho silver! away!

Ohh My Goodness I love it! Pennifuin you suggested this? I missed it! Find your post and repost here. This would add so much fun! I think I would live on the ships! Hehe! I had a question though, It has to do with how these boats will truly work. Brom jumps on the boat to VOTD from DP. Fine, ill be fighting mid-level creatures and having a heck of a good time doing it, what about others? They will jump on before or after me and they might be attacked. Solution: You could average the levels of the players on the boat. Still hard to implement however. Another Solution: You could have the boats wait at one side of the dock until passengers get on, then travel, land on the other side, wait a few min then go back. So on and so forth. I would make the delay even greater if you got to the ship just after it left, In such cases as these I think the ship trips should be about two minutes. Another Solution: Travellers travel by themselves or in groups, that way it would be easier to determine the attack to be laid against the ship, but for that we would need a grouping system, which may or may not be put into this game. I love this idea, It still needs some thinking through, but I love it!
  14. land condition

Actually, I kind of like this, Have the "Random Days" based on the map and/or city we are in. This could go a lot of ways and Ill try to list some here. Global Random days With/out Map days Map Days with/out Global days Only Map OR Only Global days. Or any number of combinations of the two. Now, I agree with vanyel, some things are just not practical for certain maps, other maps should have certain special days that only affect them. For example, Isla Prima could have some good weak map exp improvements/reductions (WEAK) or none at all. However a strange and hardly used map such as Tahraji Desert could have unique individual days such as Sand storms or War day, (As there is a large encampment in that map for some unknown reason) The ideas are easy to come up with and after some balancing I think people will like it as much as the Global random days.
  15. The Jewel Monkeys of Kusamura

Perfect, this elf was quick on his toes and did not flinch when he mentioned cyclops and Orcs, perfect. "Quickly!" Brom beckoned with his arms toward the group that was following Ladywolf matching him stride for stride. Also behind them was Dunian, Beth, Dark Nightmare and behind them Kendai and Zelse were following. Onward they ran toward the huge ancient temple now looming before them, when the group drew near to the first stone pillars the elf who had been leading them stopped and looked around, a serious expression on his face. Brom looked around as well, something did not feel right, it was an ominous place, vines crawling up the structures around and thick dense undergrowth muffling all but the heaviest footsteps. "What is your name swift-foot?" Brom pointed the question at the elf who had led them here. Brom had said, swift-foot because the elf was quick, even amoung the elves Brom knew, this one would be uncommonly quick and agile. ((V, I know this is new for you, but do not be afraid to point us in any direction, Ive set it up for anything, you choose.))
  16. The Jewel Monkeys of Kusamura

((Vetarai I may push on and not wait for a response...Waiting for a response.)) Brom waited for a response with a fierce look in his eye, He was in a hurry, the man should respond!
  17. The Ocean Strider's Voyage.

IM HERE! Hehe, I can help but I cannot lead this project, not enough time. I already worked the story over a lot and it needs a lot more. Tell me how I can help.
  18. Improvement for Summoning

I like your ideas, Though when it comes to summoning, I will let the Dev's decide, I think they have some great ideas on what to do.
  19. The Jewel Monkeys of Kusamura

((Umm, I said Ladywolf, Dark Nightmare and I...thats three, not two. Ladywolf you are with us. I editted to make it more clear... More people are welcome to come of course, I will hold no one back, I just RECOMENDED Zelse follow with Kendai as we will be running at full speed. I Will NEVER make up someone's mind for them, perhaps with a small thing like a short answer, but that is up to that character to portray, not me. Zelse may follow us anyway if he wants, just like Dunian is. (BTW sorry Dunian, I was unsure of who was still actively playing RP) )) "Sir!" Brom yelled, in response to the strangly dressed elf. "We are in great haste, will you show us the way to the temple in Kusamura right away, we are in search of the jeweled monkeys and will do anything to get them!"
  20. pvp-ing

Guildmap PK locations. My personal favorite is of course the LNX Guildmap, our boxing ring is quite nice, Radu once pounded me into the ground there.
  21. weather effects..

You see, Mortos is trying to bend that curse of his, Now weather can hurt us, but the monsters are not affected with this change. ...IDK I was just trying to think of an RP fix for it.
  22. The Jewel Monkeys of Kusamura

Brom sat near the bow of the ship, watching the coast draw closer. "Ladywolf, Dark and I will run hard toward Kusamura, ::Pausing and looking to Zelse:: I recommend you, Zelse, come and follow with Kendai, She is awake, I cannot feel her like I can feel the life in most of you, undead are something different." Brom said, looking toward Dark Nightmare. "I do not fear monsters, mountains, laws, spells or much else right now. What I do is feel the need to be up and doing, not sitting and stewing." Kendai carefully walked out of the cabin toward them... ((Welcome Veterai, if it is ok with you, I am going to force you to be our guide to the temple... Heh))
  23. Snow Bound

Lan and Pennifuin charged into the tavern and found that two guards were already pulling Ladywolf back from the barkeep. "Ladywolf, Calm down, we will work this out rationally." Lan then strode up to the barkeep and helped him up. It was actually a show of strength, you see people reacted to the smallest things, then when enough of the small things pile up, it can easily tip a person into doing nearly anything, in this case giving information. Lan helped him up then pushed him down in a stool on the bar. "Now sir, calmly answer this question or I will order my friends to let her go." The man had fear in his eyes as he glanced over to Ladywolf. "Where is Ladywolf's horse?" The man answered quickly, "In my personal stables, down the block. My son put the horse there because he thought it needed extra attention, I did not take it, dont hurt me!" Lan looked into the barkeeps eyes and said sincerly, "Thank you" Then turned to Ladywolf and said, "You see, it was all a misunderstanding, let her go guys"
  24. Your RP Character(s)

There is already a thread asking for this. Here is the linky. http://www.eternal-lands.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=16026 But anyway, here is the link to my characters background, a more....complete story is comming soon. [Common chant] I was born in a small sea-side city. At a young age I found a book and started to read, I found that it contained a very old account of creatures known as "Dragons" in the early days of the land. I was fascinated that such beings could exsist. I dedicated my life to study of these ancient creatures and to all walks and knowledge bases I could find. I took particular delight in old stories. I found I had a voice for the telling and I could weave the tales and watch people as they were fed from my mouth of words. The words did not need to be poetic or bombastic, they just needed to be said with feeling and conviction. I learned more about the art that was storytelling. That you needed to use different words and different versions of stories depending on the area you were in and the literacy of the crowds. I started to grow old, still learning of this ancient race. My name was changed from Brom to Brom the Storyteller, It was at that moment a man and a woman came to me and asked me to join a secret group. Most of which I cannot tell you reguarding "the group". I gained knowledge I thought I would never find but had always hoped for. The knowledge that I gained changed me, I grew taller, broader and older all at the same time. My hair turned white and most of my clothes no longer fit my form. Among the explainable changes there were more changes, much less explainable. I became...Deep is the only word that can somewhat explain. My mind was expanded, knowledge was absorbed very quickly and my actions were quick, mind and body. Not quick as to having to sacrifice accuracy. But the same accuracy with more speed. It is difficult, but In all I can say I was like myself in a nearly perfect form. Then to my astonishment I looked in the mirror and found that my face had changed. Blue, large, wing-like Ears and horns protruded through my head! I ripped off what clothing I had on and found similar blue markings running the length of my body. My spine had changed, become stronger and at every joint, Bone would protrude out, spines ending in the small of my back. I had become part of what that mythical creature was. I was Half-Dragon, Draegoni. People would look at me in cities and quaver, not really out of fear, but astonishment. They would fear such a beast were it not for my eyes. My eyes had become what I was on the inside; kind, bright, and full of life, dispite the white hair. More attended when I told my stories. I then found there was a ship to a distant land, I found my way onto the ship with a masterful guise as a Draegoni Emissary. There were more stow-aways on that ship then the crew. It was a trip to remember, we fought hordes of orchans and rescued friends from certain death. During the trip I was pulled by a mental link South. Very very far south. To Icy lands, I found my way. Draegoni caverns full of Draegoni, young and old. They all welcomed me home. Here I learned and gained in areas I cannot explain here. Knowledge to say the least; I drank from the well of Draegoni wisdom. I found my way back to Serdia and took hold of the mantle of teacher, not only storyteller. So that others could carry on where I had started. Thus is the life of Brom the Storyteller. [/Common chant]
  25. The Ocean Strider's Voyage.

That was probably one of the most fun RP's I was a part of, I spell-checked and worked over the thread version with Ladywolf's help and placed it on EL.net because we loved the story so much. It would not be hard to place it in the game, we could actually post parts of the story along the storyline path. For example, in Myandar a good portion of posts were made, then in Bethel where we landed, Then the tavern in Idolran where the battle happened, then the mad chase south to Palon Vertas, Ladywolf and I down in the Icy Draegoni Lands, the battle in Palon Vertas with Kendai, then finally how we all got home...Pick any dock and that would work. Im all for it.
