  1. Crafting thread

KarenRei, that is one extreme example of wasting time Like that you can make : (times) Start of the 'clock' is when you arrive at the veg/cotton field with only ings for he. gathering the initial 40 vegs needed for 40*15/8=75 he 82 seconds. One 'cycle' of making the he with the new automixer - 7 seconds. starting to harvest the cotton - 2sec 16 sec to get 14 cotton so... basicly... the calc falls down to: (3600-82)/(16*3+7)=63.966. That means about 60*6 he made per hour about... err... 5 times less than what you can make in storage with pofs? The "money saved" on pofs during that vegetable spree is : 40*15/50*12=144gc. With pofs you would lose "720gc" on the larger batch while creating ~1800 he. The amount of cotton harvested per hour that way is... 60*14=840 which is barely enough for 120 thread. These are calcs based on "110% following the game and timing very carefully and also not getting any harvest events". In practice the numbers will vary and you will probably make less he/thread per hour using that 'techique'. While making the he in storage and on pofs would net you a lot more xp and a bigger profit. (Assuming you have harvested the he ings already into sto). Although, EL is not only about making the maximum amount of items with the ingredients you have in the shortest amount of time possible but instead of having fun doing whatever you like =] P.S. I don't have an obsession with numbers, honest
  2. Crafting thread

There are rare large spider drops also. 2 thread \o/ Seriously, making thread is only good for starting crafters just to get crafting up to ~20-30 (anymore and you will gnaw your hands off at the slow speed). Make it in the school to get "double" the experience. Where the school is... is up to you to find
  3. Rostos?

You can get rostos from : sulphur, quartz, blue quartz, rose quartz, coal, silver ore, iron ore, gold ore, ruby, emerald, sapphire, diamond, titanium ore, wolframite, hydrogenium. Honey/Gypsum... haven't heard of anyone getting one from those but then again who harvests 10k honey I have gotten quite a few of stones from wolf/hyd so yes, you can get stones from there. (1 rost from wolf, 2 from hyd and various bind/serp/enrich) edit: not to 'spam' the topic even further, i'l add the quick answer here. The stone ratio from various ores/minerals is unknown. But if i'd have to guess then the chance is the same as from titanium. Bear in mind that when i was still making the armors/weapons i harvested k's of the ores.
  4. making things for money

There is no profitable item to make in manu, at any level and the time it takes to make your own thread/bars offsets the possible profit. The"profit" you get is what you get for the items you harvested yourself and or alched. Nothing that you buy brings you in a profit (even buying steel/iron bars and fe and making you own hyd/wolf bars). The prices for the armors and weapons have dropped so low that it is not even possible to break even if you buy the ings so you are either forced to make your own bars (which can be sold for a larger profit on #3) or just not bothering at all. The only 3 profitable skills are harvesting, alchemy and summoning. The rest of the skills don't have any items which you can buy from #3 and then make them. (Col/com failure rates are too high even at the high levels to turn a decent profit with the new stone/ele/eme prices). As for making leather pants for gc... make and sell 1 leather pants -> profit 5.5gc 10 thread make and sell 1 leather helm -> profit 4.5gc 4 thread If you want to make money, stick to the 3 profitable skills and don't start manu/craft/pot
  5. making things for money

Harvesting level doesn't affect harvesting speed, as long as you are over the recommended level and have positive food level. And even if you don't have positive food level the slowdown is minor.
  6. 64bit support

Most systems which have 64 bit support also have a subroutine to use 32 bit versions, albeit slower than natively but they do work. And graphics card support is quite large, try it and it will most probably work. so, yes, yes and yes P.S. haven't tested it but assuming that MS hasn't really frakked around, it should work
  7. How can I run EL on AuroX 11.1?

First of all, have you tried running the executable .bin in the unzipped folder? (terminal) cd /path/to/dir ./el. (the binary there, use tab completion to fill it in) That should start the game and assuming you have 3d support working, you can play EL. If not, then we need more information about your computer (graphics card, xorg.conf mostly) to be able to say what is going wrong. Try to start it, if you get an error or it is insanely slow, post details. All the libraries needed to run it should be there already (included in the zip). Atleast, i think so
  8. making things for money

time to go back to school duckyo Leather pants are bought at 40gc each and take 8 food per pants (iirc) that is 6 per pof so... pof cost 12/6=2gc leather 7*350/75=32.666 thread 10*2=20 that is : 2+32.(6)+20=54.666 The only way you could make a profit is if you make your own thread, and then the profit is meager. There are no profitable manu items which you can buy ings from #3 and them make and sell. (Only profit is if you make your own bars). Yes, the armors/weapons are expensive but the bars/stones/esses needed to make those items are almost 95% of the item sell value. There is one exception but noone sane buys it =] [edit] it is possible to make a "profit" on fur pants but that would mean you have to hunt the deer/wolves/beavers yourself. But if you buy the ingredients from #3 at 8 per wolf, 3 per beaver, 4 per deer you would still be loosing money. Maybe duckyo meant that instead =] [/edit]
  9. Monsters a/d

The only thing that can be "measured" via the damage you take is the monsters might. It is nigh impossible to tell the exact p/c of a monster/creature, only an educated guess can be made. High phys monsters often hit for hard, but don't hit criticals often so if you can block their damage you get hit seldom (e.g. Cyclops, fluffy), high coord monsters hit a lot of criticals and you get hit for a lot even if you are above their levels (e.g. trolls, armed orcs). If someone already answered this then my apoligies. Couldn't be bothered with reading the full topic =[
  10. making things for money

There are lots of ways of earning gc in EL. Although the 'better ones' require a quite big investment of time and gc :] Overall chars can make everything they need, but if you stick to 1 skill alone you can eventually (hopefully nothing will change for the worse) make a quite big profit. I'd suggest some routes but it's best if you find out which is your favorite and stick to that. If everything else fails, you can always fallback to harvesting/alchemy and try to make some gc that way. The only way to find the best "money maker" for yourself is to try out different items. Either depend on the market for the 'raw materials' or get/make them yourself. And if you thought that mathematics was over once you left school, think again And... also a side note... there have been numerous topics like this posted in the forums. [hint] Search Button [/hint]
  11. tit plate of freezing

uhm, most people are too lazy to read the short list of commands to make life a LOT easier?
  12. Economy help?

imho, this would not change the prices by a bit. Most people who make the armors/weapons keep the ingredients in storage and make them on demand. The prices would stay almost the same but would add a Lot of coding/testing for the devs. Also, isn't this topic for the suggestions sub forum? There are a lot of 'ideas' for improving the economy and there was even a large thread for it (suggestions subforum iirc)
  13. tit plate of freezing

Nah, it's fine... Since the price on these things is already capped at a low number, then increasing the power would serve no purpose. However... if by chance the mail is 'changed' then a look at the steel mail is needed also, currently the steel plate of heal is the worst of the 'magic' lot. vote for #1
  14. So are we (the summoners) happy now?

making one stone takes as much food as 1 hydro bar. Although i was over the recommended by quite a bit i could make 2 bars per fp easily. And also... it is possible to cut the wait time on sr's but the fact remains, you get more xp via stones AND gain gc doing so. That is just not right but as you said, i am not a summoner just someone who likes cold numbers over 'estimates'. Taking stuff out of storage takes a max of 1 minute and harvest events... those remove a max of 10-20 seconds unless you afk harvest, and afk harvesting gypsum... is... uhm... no comment (takes a max of 2 minutes even for the yber emu folks). 15. So are we (the summoners) happy now?

hmmm assuming you can carry 30 stone ings, that means you need to harvest 600 gypsum harvesting 60 gypsum (emu 600+) takes 64 seconds (2 second for start, 2 second for stop+drop) so it would take 640 seconds or 11 minutes to harvest the gypsum. Due to the fact that you can only make 2 stones per pof it would be '12' stones minute, so 150 seconds to mix the stones. 640+150=790=13 minutes. Walk time from MM sto to MM sulphur was 1:45 so 210 seconds to storage that all totals up to : 640+150+210=1000 seconds which is ~16-17 minutes. Either you were lagging a lot and or weren't harvesting all the time to get an extra 10 minutes on it o.O. Hence you can make upto 3600/1000=3.6*30 stones MAX per hour that is... including fails, ~100 stones/hour not 60. ing cost, fine... but some people sell sr's at 15 each also if you buy in bulk and it takes 1/2 fp for a stone. Cost Best Case / Worst Case --------------------------------------- 20 LE = 100 gc / 140 gc 20 Thread = 40 gc / 40 gc 4 SR's = 60 gc / 80 gc 1/2 FP = 6 gc / 6 gc --------------------------------------- Total Cost = 206 gc / 266 gc and with the sale of 100 stones/hour you would make (if you bought all ings from players/shop) 44*100=4.4kgc which is still more than you can make per hour harvesting from flowers (yes, even the 'money maker one'). 4.4kgc profit, 36.7k xp per hour with making spider stones in the MM mines Most summoners make their own LE because they are so easily made and take a very short amount of time with the new auto-mixer so the profit is still quite a large one. I'd say make the spider stones non profitable to buy all ings also but heck, that's just me Also... there are no profitable items for manuers/crafters to sell to the npc. Only potters have the high level potions on which to gain gc and those take a LOT more time to make than summoning stones. Summoning stones however take only a short amount of time to make enough of them and you can easily sell them to the npc. Also, for comparison, i'l calc the ing/xp cost for a wolf summoning session Cost Best Case / Worst Case --------------------------------------- 3 bones = 0.9 gc / 3 gc 2 meat = 8 gc / 14 gc 0.4 SR's = 6 gc / 8 gc 1 wolf fur = 6 gc / 12 gc 2 LE = 10 gc / 14 gc --------------------------------------- Total Cost = 30.9 gc / 51 gc emu per 'wolf' : 11 The limiting factor on summoning them is the walk time to a summon arena (assuming nc/sk arena) return trip is ~5 minutes and 600 emu. 600/11 = 54 wolves per trip It takes 2 seconds to summon 1 wolf and you need to drink a sr per 2.5 wolves, so the wait time is 20 seconds between wolves. 54/2.5=22 waiting moments, that means 440+54*2=548 seconds to summon them so in total, 800-900 seconds per trip so about 4-5 trips per hour xp gained from ~200 wolves (god+20 will) = 16kkxp gc lost on 'best case'/'worst case' 6.2kk/10.2k So basicly making the stones gives you a lot more xp/hour AND you GAIN money, not lose it the traditional way. Good good, now summoners have a way of getting levels but it favors highly making the stones but not summoning the old way so like someone mentioned before. "summoning has become a manufacturing skill where you make stones, but don't summon them". My suggestions will not have much weight, but reducing the xp gained and increasing some more of the ings would be better to make them more 'equal' in game terms. Still they are a bit too high for summoners to gain levels quickly and make gc while getting levels (which no other skill in the game can anymore). If you wish to keep the ings as they are then may i add a suggestion to make the ring molds and M&P sellable for a profit when you buy the ings and increase the xp from them? That way manuers can make some items for a profit once again... Nook1e edit: forgot about sr cooldowns, that adds +400 seconds per trip edi2: doh! 3600/900!=6 -,-
