  6. compiling the cvs client

    On Debian and Ubuntu you just need to install the libcal3d12 and libcal3d12-dev packages. Not sure why you'd need -march=i386 if you have a -march=i686 processor. i686 is 64 bit, right? I don't have one, and that's why I was wondering why it was set default in CVS, because all the compilation errors might have been caused by it.

    Splenfeeder has a valid point. Monsters should not drop anything they don't seem to have. Fluffies would drop only fur, cycs only pants and clubs.

EDIT: The client is being compiled now, in make.conf the platform was -march=i686 instead of -march=i386

  12. Triple Melinis Ogre spawn

    When 2 people are there they have 1 ogre each and share the 3rd, the presence of the 3rd means they don't have to wait as much for respawns. so for 2 people, this 3x spawn is better than each having a 1x to themselves. if person 3 joins at melinis there are 3 people 3 used ogres - 3:3 if person 3 sees melinis is busy, goes elsewhere to a 1x, there are (globally) 3 people 4 used ogres - 3:4 this means person 3 can spread more happiness round the world by going away. And doing this is at no cost to him - he gets 1x ogre wherever he goes. That's why its inconsiderate and lazy to just join in at melinis when you see its busy, and not go somewhere else. Of course if ALL ogre spawns in the WHOLE game were busy (probably happens on sun tzu and scholars', otherwise only very rarely), then the melinis trainers should share. You are obviously forgetting something: By training on one ogre of the triple spawn the person has chance to get two ogres if some of the three trainers leave, which they will eventually do.

    Then you only level faster than we mortals do, I was thinking you had some very pro stat setup letting you get max exp out of fluffy 50 levels before other people

    Do they deal any real damage? I think someone has already bought 1000000 training arrows (let it be level 1000) and 1000 perception on the test server, it would be nice to hear some results.

    Video card: GeForce FX 5200/AGP/SSE/3DNOW! Vendor ID: NVIDIA Corporation OpenGL Version: 2.1.2 FPS is exactly zero. This was in MM, next to a tree, spot of twinkling black water and tree mushroom, none or few actors nearby. I did not try to beam to see if it applies other maps, I do always have lower fps in MM. I was able to open all windows, there only was 5 seconds between a frame. This did not apply in console or map windows. I did not try to mapwalk.

    It does. If you heal more with restore, you don't need to cast it so often, and you don't have to let your hp go so low before casting it (if you don't want to heal less than you can)

    Last time I checked, the EL client was executed on my computer, not on the server. Did it change in the last update? Or at least I can not imagine any other way for server load to increase, if "the client would test"
