Undead
It was then I heard it, a clattering from down the hallway. I did not doubt my hearing, but the clattering was different. It sounded like bone hitting stone or something.
I turned my head 90 degrees to my left, from where the clattering was heard; there I saw four living skeletons closing in for the kill. The skeletons moved fast, and were carrying curious swords. Again I got use of my formidable agility, parrying the first blow and hit one of the skeletons. The sword crashed into the uncovered bones of the skeleton’s body, severing its arm, but the skeleton did not slow down, as a matter of fact, it didn’t seem to notice the loss at all.

History
The undead are believed to be tragic manifestations of the suffering of the know races. They are the restless souls of the dead or what remains. The undead are the very essence of loss and tragedy, now cursed with the hatred for all living. Some undeads manifest themselves, like the phantom warriors, and some are the result of foul practices. The gods of evil reanimated bones when all the flesh and blood was gone to use against the gods of good, and so did the necromancers of the Council.
It is further believed that their souls were not trapped...although it is said in legends that there are some whose souls are cursed and must follow the remainder of their former selves for eternity.
Physiology
Undeads are not "living" nor "dead" they are somewhere in between. This means that they can suffer losses that the living can not. For example, loosing an arm or a leg will not hinder a skeleton. And no undead can feel any pain.
Society
Undeads are believed to be incapable of forming societies or communities. Some are believed to have been animated with a purpose, such as guarding a tomb or treasure. Such guardians will, somehow, work together thus forming a sense of unity.
They are incapable of adhering to the concept of belief, and therefore they do not worship any gods.
Standard tactics of the undead is to attack until either the attacker or defender is dead.
