hormania Report post Posted October 14, 2011 (edited) I updated to Xubuntu 11.10 yesterday. Since then i get an error message when i log off. I don't encounter any problems while playing the game. (Even though i didn't have time to go on spawn or do a daily since install.) I was using 11.10 beta2 before and didn't have any problems. Could the problem be graphic card related? I have one of these Nvidia Optimus cards that aren't supported in Linux and use Bumblebee to run Eternal Lands. I didn't have any problems while using the beta which has the same Kernel. And i am pretty sure that the drivers are the same too. Basically i don't care about crashing on log off. I'll just take care to use #save before doing #exit. But if there's an easy solution to the problem, i'd appreciate that. I already re-installed the game and it didn't help. The following is your error log contents. Note it is overwritten each time you run the game. hussam Report post Posted October 14, 2011 can you run the game through gdb? gdb /path/to/el.bin (or something like that) then type: run then when EL client crashes, type: bt full the output will help the client developers tell what's wrong.
hormania Report post Posted October 14, 2011 It doesn't crash in this case. If i run it that way, it runs on intels integrated graphics and not on the discrete nvidia gpu. And the crash only appears when running on discrete graphics... So the problem definitely is graphic card related. To use the nvidia card to get good graphics and high fps, i have to do "optirun eternallands" in a terminal. That triggers bumblebee to use the nvidia card. If it's possible to use gdb using that command, i will gladly give it a try. But i don't know how to handle gdb. I fear a bit that there's no solution atm. hormania Report post Posted October 16, 2011 (edited) After the bumblebee-update of today, i have no more crashes on exiting The only problem left for now is: My minimap doesn't get cropped. It looks like that, can be nasty if you are on large maps: Any ideas? Edited October 16, 2011 by hormania
