Quintus -- the VotD blacksmith

Well, I finally finished my bot. He's in the VotD blacksmith spot. Let me know if you have any trouble with him, or find any bugs. He logs all transactions, so if you try to exploit him, I'll know who did it

 

Anyway, he really doesn't trade that much at the moment. The second I set a price for something though, he'll allow you to buy or sell it. The goal is for him to buy and sell manufacturing supplies and products. Coal, ore, fire essences, bars, etc.

 

He gives better buy/sell prices to guild members though, so join my Legion of DOOM!

Ok, quick instructions:

 

PM him to start the trade.

 

Say "buy", "sell", or "inventory" (just "inv" works too)

 

Tell him what item (if you're buying or selling)

 

Tell him how many

 

Trade with him.

 

 

See, easy!

Did he say "We're not ready to trade" or did just nothing happen? If nothing happened, then the server isn't accepting another trade request from him. Go try to trade with someone else to "reset" then try again.

Nice Cicero, it's already given me some ideas to improve Nera. And I'd be surprised if you didn;t take any ideas from her behaviour as well

 

The location of Quintus is a bit unpractical, since you have to be on exactly the right spot inf front of the counter, or go behinf the counter, to trade qith him. Buying an iron helmet works for me (i think, since i don;t have the money to actaually buy it).

 

All in all, good job.

 

And BTW: Cicero, Quintus....are you going for a theme here?

your bot annoyingly pms me when i leave the store, make it stop, actually it only does it after i leave when i have spoken to it

did you try trading and aborting to make him stop?

On my list of things to do is getting him to stop tracking people when they leave and to be able to tell him to do things with items in his inventory remotely (eat food, drop junk, etc).

 

If you don't see the yellow trade message, then you did something wrong that has nothing to do with my bot. Log off, trade with someone else, leave the store and come back, whatever.

 

Yes Grum, I did take some things from Nera, and made an effort to make him NOT do the annoying things Nera does. I'll be glad to share my anti-spam method with you (note that Quintus only replies to you in local chat once, even if you keep saying his name), if it would make Nera STFU. :lol:

Odd...the trade window didn't open up? You were standing close enough? I can't actually work on him for a few days, try standing right next to him, behind the counter.

Well, I assume that if I'm close enough to trade with Quintus, I should also be close enough for Quintus to trade with me. It did work the first few times, but not when I later returned to try ahain, it failed. Anyway, I'll try to reproduce it, and see if standing closer helps.
