hobobob38 Report post Posted May 6, 2009 There should be something like the sit lock that works while you're standing to help with ranging. Right now you have to hold alt down if you dont want to move when you accidentally click on the ground next to whatever you're shooting at. (i did a search but didnt find anything like this)
DarthCookie Report post Posted May 6, 2009 I would go for this (P.S. For me the VoTD lamppost top gives me this ability)
dipi Report post Posted May 7, 2009 Good idea I'm tired of accidentally walking while ranging
Sir_Odie Report post Posted May 7, 2009 An option similar to 'sit lock' would be great...
Cruella Report post Posted May 7, 2009 Keep Alt button pressed while ranging. Alternatively, manipulate your camera in such a way that incidental misclick hits unwalkable tile (air, water, rock, etc.).
hobobob38 Report post Posted May 8, 2009 (edited) but wouldnt that involve moving the camera where you couldnt see what you're shooting as easily? and i believe i said something about "other than alt" twice, once in the title and once in the actual post Edited May 8, 2009 by hobobob38
Entris Report post Posted May 9, 2009 It's not that hard to keep ALT pressed down while ranging, wasting time and effort to implement this is a bad idea imo
hobobob38 Report post Posted May 9, 2009 i didnt say it was hard to keep it held down, i said it was a huge pain in the ass....after an hour of holding alt down my hand was hurting
Sir_Odie Report post Posted May 11, 2009 I posted a patch which implements Ranging-Lock in the 'Programming' section of the forum...
Ookies Report post Posted May 12, 2009 And, maybe (this might be asking too much, cuz may be hard to implement) a red cross hair on the enemy show you know exactly what your shooting
