You may want to try iron swords. a small market for them. But as soon as you can make S2E swords the better. (use manufaturing pots/bless)

Unless you have tons of money to buy metal bars or have a guild to help make the bars you'll find it takes a long time to make the metal bars needed to make enough swords to level. For me I found that leather pants and leather helms were faster for levelling.

If you are looking to level then just stick with leather helms. If you want profit...umm....hmm....uhhh.... You're going to be doing a lot Of harvesting and alching your own bars. But as Puntif already stated, it takes a long time to harv and alch those bars for s2e's to level. My alch lvl is several levels higher than my manu level and I really dislike alch. It's just from making things I needed in order to profit on other skills. There are very few items you can buy all the ingreds and still turn a profit, and the problem there is finding enough ingreds to make enough of those items to level as well.

Good luck.

Leather helms are the only way for quick and fairly cheap xp (if you sell them at Trik as you do them). You can enhance the xp rate if you 'invest' some cash in it - buy a nice pile of leather and thread and burn it all in manufacturing school (I've wasted this way hundrets of thousands of gc :S ). I still haven't found anything profitable.

I have forgotten what Trik pays for Iron Shields, but the exp is good if you Harv, Alch, and Manu the whole thing.....

Meanwhile, the sun is shining... and there are maps to explore.... :P

When leather becomes a low-cost commodity, pants are an easy sell. In my case, ten pairs last a few hours in Naralik, and five pairs of augmented leathers last a few more hours. Those spiders eat anything!

I Manu my own leathers, but you can sell them as well as the augs for some profit and good exp to make.

Don't forget the gods for extra experience, it's worth the effort and the effort is worth the exp you get doing the god quests!

Iron shields are 200gc at Trik.

Ings : 8 iron bars, 2 steel bars, 4 Fe = around 380gc if you buy all.

In the good, old days when I was levelling did he pay 400gc, I used to make 30-40/day, good gc because I did all the harvesting/alcing.

You make a good point Zamirah, as far as GC goes, not the best, but the exp spent to get the gold is always worthwhile. Not to mention how good you feel when you actually Manu something after 27 fails! :P:):D
