Teh Bear

There once was a blind bear in white stone city

Who thought a female grizzly bear might look pretty

He kissed her once, he kissed her twice

But the grizzly bear felt cold as ice

And appeared a Gargoyle, what a pitty…

Bob

A goblin named Bob was walking the docks

He smelled the ocean and sat on the rocks

Then someone walked by and called him names

And Bob made his boots go up in flames

Now the unfortunate one is walking on socks

The Rabbit

A rabbit was hopping the grass one day

He was being so happy and jumpy and gay

But all of a sudden he felt a smacking

And he heard his little bones cracking

Then the Eternal Angels came and took him away..

Nice Jezebelle.

I wrote these awhile back and I hope to use them in a story coming from a bit of a wanna be poet:

There was a girl named Betty

Whom fell in love with a yeti

I don't know how

So don't ask now

But I haven't seen much of Betty

An arrow to the quiver

I'll gut that ogre's liver

'Cept I'd fall down

And break my crown

And probly get a sliver

The spellings of 'cept and probly are intentional :P

To put them in the context I'd like to use them in a bit, the first is supposed to be just the character annoying several others with senseless rhymes

And the second is intended to be after a battle, where the character shot a few arrows into the fight, and is now prancing around the battlefield picking them up and returning them to his quiver and stabbing at imaginary monsters as he goes along.

There once was a leopard named Leo,

Who constantly bothered a trio,

Gerbil and Ryddler,

The third L33t'er,

To late its Morning again.

**********

I visited Kilaran Fields today,

And much to my increased dismay,

My bag was not filled,

and I was quick killed,

And at the beam I will Stay.

**********

At the Store I bought a Saw

Borrowed the gc from ma and paw.

Was harvesting yew

Cut straight through my shoe

Limpin' back to Ida.

Idalor was not a young man,

Twice fifty was his lifes span,

But he felt such a dork,

when he bumped into an Orc-

You shoulda seen how Idalor ran!

*edit: didnt notice before i posted that someone had already used the Betty/Yeti rhyme...so I changed it :)

LOL, Cruella. In fact, I liked it so much, I'd like to suggest some alternate wording to make it flow a little better. I hope you like it...

A famous PKer from White Stones

smiled like a skull and crossed bones.

His wits and his charms

were more deadly than Harm,

causing girls to lose rostogol stones.

Opposing Views?

The life of an EL moderator:

deal with the defiant

Wow, what a group of poets we have in EL! :devlish:

With the permission of the various authors in this thread... I'd like to compile some of these (those that pertain completely to the game and fit roleplaying) into a "Draian Book of Rhymes" and post them all together in the official songs ballads and poem section.

I'll list here for you the ones I think would fit...

Oh, and if you're out there with some poetic talent holding back, please post any limericks/rhymes/short-poems you might be able to think of that fit the EL world, maybe they could be part of the Draian Book of Rhymes as well :pickaxe:

Anyway, for the authors on this thread, these are the limericks I was hoping to use. Just say 'yay' or 'nay' as far as whether I can use them in the Draian Book of Rhymes, and I will make a post in the official songs ballads and poems section :icon13:

Jezebelle, all your limericks were great, thanks for starting this thread. I'd like to use all three of them with your permission.

Kit_gw, nice work on all three, however the first one includes some ingame names, and the second references bags, which doesn't make a lot of sense from a roleplaying standpoint. But I'd like to use the last one, with your permission.

Pyewacket, both of yours are great :pickaxe: but brendal is the name of an ingame player is it not? Was the poem specifically talking about him, or was that just a chance matching of names? I'd like to use the first one with Idalor however, with your permission.

Cruella, I love your PKer from whitestone one, if we could change PKer to warrior or fighter or something similar, I'd love to use that one.

Annatira, I love your moderator rhymes, but I don't think an official poem should have moderator and EL in it, if you could re-work it a bit to use Draian rather than EL, and god, or some other sort of person in charge, I'd love to use yours too.

For the rest of you, great work, but a lot of them include ingame names or references to obvious game mechanics that would not be part of a story-line world. If you feel I've judged your poem too harshly, and it still deserves to be part of the book of rhymes, or you think you could fix it to make it fit, feel free to PM me ingame or here on the forums and we can discuss it.

And again, anybody out there with poem/rhyme ideas, or if any of you have anymore, post away :)

The Gnomes are a source of great humor !

But they do have a humor thier own .....

So dont be surprised

When you walk EL alone,

To see a Gnome stood there holding his bone

My poor attempt at 2 in the morning :P *yAwN*
