Felt like doing this *shrug*

Summoning's probably one of the hardest skills to level up since the exp payout isn't too great until you can make stones like it's your job.

So here's just a few things I do that should help out anyone working on their summoning :w00t:

With lower level summoners, I'd suggest you just work with rats until you can do snakes. Once you're capable of snakes, try to do brown snakes as often as possible, they tend to have the best item usage to exp ratio.

Personally, I start doing things at WAY lower levels that the requirement is, but that may just be luck...but don't be shy on trying something way above your level, I was doing wolves every now and then at lvl 15, and am doing armed orc stones at 20 XD

when you are nearing lvl 20, prefereably within 3 levels of it, a great spot to lvl up your summoning is to go to PL and use the boar spawn near the Mullein bush. Bring 200 LE with you and a couple SRs (dependin on your mana), then just summon up boars as you kill them off. Yes, it's not a summoning arena, but the exp turns into a constant stream so having to use more SRs isn't much of a penalty there.

Another spot this can work on is south east VoTD, there are alot of boars around there cramped into one section of the map.

If you're training your summoning at the WS summoning arena, use the teleportal to jump between storage and the arena, it'll save you a couple minutes of walking.

If you have the animal nexus, work with stones as soon as you can if you're at lvl 20 or so. The fail rate may get to some players, but the exp payout is NICE, 200 for a bear stone which can take a chunk off of a typical summoning level, and bear stones are easier than wolves to make (Although the mountain in Arius are a real headache to haul gypsum from...if you've got a big emu use it and bring the stuff to the gypsum).

If you can do armed orc stones somewhat do them, less to carry, 400 exp

add on if you guys can add more

I would go for red snakes, not brown, as brown snakes need more meat.

And you have to be quite mad to do Armed Orc stones at 20... They require swords. Bears are doable if you don't mind failing (unlike me), but Orcs are a bit much no?

Racoons are a v good low level creature to summon (if not one of the best)

They are low level recomended, quite high exp (same as red snake) and most importantly only need the animal nexus of 1 :D

anyway nice guide :P

Rats turn into good XP if you reset (twice) just for this reason, and take 50 will or something like that... cuts off half the cost of leveling to ~ lvl 20. After that, summon stones are way to go, and don't be shy on potions. Potion is worth like 60 or somthing and bear stone is ~150 so saving bear stones due to potion use is worthwile.

I also use racoon to level up in summoning. I think it's the best low level creature to train with.

Skunk are not bad too but a little less efficient to level up than racoon.

One thing I'd like to add, if you can afford to buy or make the essence, small gargs are awesome for exp and you can carry a ton of them worth in ingred with you to the summoning arena :D

meh, I look at this and want to change one thing, do red and green snakes, not browns, you get better exp per meat if you think of it that way, LE are easy enough to make.

Yeah...considering the recommended level for small Gargoyles is more than 12 above what you'll get with maximum bonus from potion? I'm not too surprised. Wait until you get a bit higher before Gargoyles, I'm nearing 30 and still having a bit of trouble with them.

Load up with a few snake skins, lots of le & meat and summon them in naralik - let the snakes kill more.

Then keep repeating until you get done.

Rr.

p.s. see me i have a few skins in store you can buy

Or buy a bear summoning stone. Let it help kill the first few. If you can heal summons, you can keep it alive longer. Go around and collect the death bags. When it dies, do what Raz suggested (summon snakes and let them kill non-summoned snakes).

i'm going to have to disagree with you guys here. unequivocally the best way to hunt snakes is to go to

DP and kill half as many foxes and then use a summoning potion.

Ummm....maybe if you can actually summon foxes. If you can summon foxes though, is it even worth it to summon snakes? I mean, there is a massive difference in recommended summoning skill between foxes and snakes. Personally, I can summon snakes, but foxes and wolves are a bit hard to summon still.

if you can summon snakes you can pretty much drink a summoning potion and summon foxes.

it's not as efficient but it's probably a lot faster. killing foxes takes less time. i did a session

with 50 snakes and 30 foxes it was about the same except killing the foxes doesn't take

as long.

summoning foxes is imho unnecessary for leveling up.

There are 2 major stepstones that i used to get to lvl 30 (when the stones begin):

- brown snakes (which is the last creature to only need 1 LE to summon) - those can be hunted on WS beach conveniently

- boars (best cost/exp ratio - and you dont need a fur, so you can just buy bones and meat or get it from other creatures)

After that you can do bear stones.

(all that can be done with or w/o summon potions)

I finally reached lvl 30... up to lvl 24 i made a lot of snakes (plus some quests bonuses ;) )

From lvl 24 up to 30 i started of making boars and bear stones with summ pots (around 30-40% of fails) i was loosing gcs, but when the fail rate decrease the payment cover the cost :)

My next goal is to have around lvl 35 and start on spider stones, those give a really good profit ;)

Dipi.
