sorry, i forgot to give info :(

Debian linux Squeeze (newest kernel) with ati graphics card. openGL is on and working on other games. Toshiba labtop,3G ram, amd64 duelcore. maybe i did not uninstall the game right? i simply deleted the folder it was running from. it ran great first time, then i adjusted the graphic size for my screen.

don't know if this would help, but you might also need to resize the video mode in the EL control panel, set it to new selection then choose the size that more closely matches your video mode...also you might have to turn off animation.

Maybe your video driver behaves strangely with OpenGL windows larger than 1024 or 1280 pixels? Can you launch the client, then before logging in, click on the Options button and set your window size to something smaller, e.g. 1024x768? If that works, we can work up from there. Let us know. Posting a screenshot of the screen with the triangles might also provide some clue.

Maybe you can set a lower resolution, e.g. 800x600, so that you can edit your character appearance?

If you are running on a non-standard resolution (e.g., 1024x600 as in some netbook), you might have to set the exact resolution you need in the fields "Userdefined width" and "Userdefined height" in the "Video" tab of the option, after that set Video mode to "Userdefined". That might help.

Still, we need to know the details of your graphics card/chip/driver (versions etc.)... If you can get into the game, you can try typing the command "#glinfo", then copy here the first 5 lines or so. That should at least provide some hint.

Good luck!

if i change the video settings to user defined i can see the buttons at the bottom of the screen BUT...the graphics are blinking and jumping so i cant see anything. it wont even display the charter so i can see it. if i change the settings so i can see the enviroment i cant see the buttons. i think i need to upgrade my video driver to the suggested manufactures not the one that came with the kernel for debian. working on that now, if it helps ill repost. thanks for all the replys. im having trouble with other games as well, might just be my driver. worth a try. :)
