Map direction no longer changes in monitor mode

Recommended Posts

Guest BlessedAngel

Hello,

I'm not sure if this is a new setting I haven't found or an actual bug so I thought this might be the place to ask first.

I used to be able to spin my map direction around while in monitor mode with 1.9.3. Since updating, I can't seem to do this. I have a laptop and use the touchpad. Is there a setting I'm missing to make that work again with 1.9.4? This was helpful to me when I was on maps with rain or at storages with a lot of players.

Thank you,

BlessedAngel

If you have the minimap open, set Ctrl-O -> HUD -> rotate minimap to on, and you can still rotate in chat or map view. (By rotating the minimap itself.)

Also, there's a new setting to turn off rain. Ctrl-O -> GFX -> "Show Weather Effects" unmarked will turn off rain and other weather graphics.

Though if you do that, keep in mind that special days like Acid Rain can still affect you even though you can't see the rain.

Thank you for the response, Burn but I already had minimap set to rotate. I tried it again just to be sure. The map still will not rotate when I am in monitor mode using my arrow keys like I did previously. :( I've talked to another player who rotated the map using arrow keys and she can't do it in monitor mode any more either.

I did know about turning off the weather effects and I hope that helps now. Previously I had my particle percentage set to zero but my ram usage still went way up if it rained on the map, even if I wasn't seeing it any more. On a side note, thank you and all who put in lots of hard work for this update. There's been some added features I'm liking very much!

No, arrow keys won't work like that except in map view. Conflicts with using them to type. Or I'd imagine that's why it changed.

Thank you again for the response. I can understand the change then but it was something that made it easier for me to play. Ah well, I shall adjust and keep on with things. Have a nice day. :)
