Thermal’s Legacy: AirAKose

The nearby lamppost cut off, shrouding the street on which I walk in shadows. I did not stop, for I have walked down this path many times before, and I have memorized it thoroughly. As I continued to walk, my mind raced through recent events, from my father’s murder, to my getting a police-authorized swordsman license.

I unsheathed my sword from its place on my back. It is a steel two edge sword, and as I gaze into its cold steel, I remembered how many gang wars I’ve helped the police stop, how many homes I’ve chopped my way into while they were on fire, and how many lives I’ve stopped. At that thought I start to remember that as I stopped those lives, this sword seemed to give a purplish glow, as if it wanted blood, as if it praised the sight that horrifies me.

I took but five steps around the next corner when I heard a sudden crackle of leaves behind me. I’m sure I am alone, so I didn’t pay it too much attention. Then I heard the crackle again. This time, I continued to walk, but kept my senses sharp and my grip on my sword tight. The third crackle came with a yell, and as I spun around, I saw it was a gangster from the last gang war I helped interrupt. He was shirtless, like all of the members of his gang, and wore the tattoo of his gang across his chest. He was from the gang FURY whose soul purpose was to make as much mischief as possible.

The FURY member charged at me with a wooden bat, simple enough to slice through, but in his other hand he had a gun. I ran up, grabbed the hand with the bat, spun behind him, grabbed the hand with the gun, and made him waste his ammo on his own foot. He crumbled onto the ground, holding onto his foot.

More yells burst out of the night’s silence. Next thing I knew, I was avoiding blows from bats left and right. A gun shot was heard, and I raised my blade to meet the bullet. The bullet ricochet to the right and I jumped forward to avoid yet another bat. When I landed, my arm flung into the bushes along the side of the walkway, and my sword met flesh and ripped muscles. Another gun went off, and I turned with my sword in front of me like a shield to stop the bullet. This time, the bullet ricochet back to the owner- no, it seemed to have been launched back at a higher speed. This fury member tried to avoid the bullet by turning, but was too slow. The bullet caught him in mid-turn. I gagged. The bullet had ripped through the front of his stomach, ripping skin and muscle, and his organs were spilling out in large, steaming heaps.

Silence filled the air. I could see little through the darkness. Then I heard foot steps, and 4 gangsters entered my sight, coming from all directions. I crouched down and hopped between 2 of them just as their bats came down. I turned and sliced the leg tendons on two of the gangsters. The other two came at me, and I spun around their side, and sliced both of their leg tendons too. As I did this, my sword began to dimly glow purple in approval.

I left most of the gangsters alive for the police, only one casualty this time, and he was killed by his own bullet. It seems this battle is over, for now. So I sheathed my blade.

Before I could remove my hand from the pommel of my sword, I heard yet another yell right in front of me. There was one last gangster, and he was furious. He was already in mid-swing with his bat. I only had one choice; I quickly pulled my sword from its sheath and slammed my blade on his head all in one move.

The purple glow of my steel two edge sword intensifies, enveloping me in a purple aura. I begin to fall. My consciousness begins to fade. I feel liquids coming out of my ears. I move my hand to my ear and then in front of my face; the liquid is clear, and thick. In it I see my memories, yet they don’t seem to be mine, for I have no recollection of them, but they do contain elements that I remember. This liquid- it must be my memories!

I completely lose consciousness.

When I awoke I found myself lying in the grass. Where am I? I ask an average looking man with black curly hair and a purple cloak where I am. He responds, “You are on Isla Prima, the n00… erm I mean beginner island. You are now in the continent of Seridia!”

Hehe. I did notice some undetailed parts in the first chapter, but will be explained later.

As to the sword, the reason behind it, too, will be explained later. :P

Im afraid im not a very good story writer. So I cant promise this to be very good. The story will be quite strange.... but i will TRY to make it make more sense and TRY to do my best....

It's not too bad, an interesting twist on how your character got to IP :)

I think maybe it would be better and more interesting if you talked more about your character's past..or give him more "character" so we can get to know him other than knowing he's a fighter.

Wow! Nice blood and guts stuff. Waiting to see how you can tell us more about the past( his father's murder, being a swordsman etc) when you've got memory loss. That could be tricky.

Keep going!
