Do saws break?

Recommended Posts

I have over 20k yew harvested and not 1 broken saw. I even used it to fight some monsters.

Just curious if anyone has broken a saw and what the rate may be?

I broke one on a troll, though never while harvesting. So they can break, just not sure if a yew tree will do it. It probably went through a hundred trolls at least before it broke.

Would be nice (in the sense of consistency) if saws, buckets and excavator capes would break.

It would be logical, however vast majority of new players won't appreciate much, if excavators were supposed to break. If they are to be breakable by harvesting events, I think, they should be also made cheaper.

As to saws and buckets, only advanced players are using them I'd say, so why not, they are tools as any.

For the longest time I thought scissors (used in tailoring) didn't break. I think I made it to level 60 without breaking my first and then I was very excited when I did :) That's a lot more than 20k uses.

I don't think they do break, and if they do it's a very rare event indeed, my counter says 62k yew and I'm still using my first saw. (and no they have not been harvested with the excavator cape on.) so untill proven otherwise I'll say they don't.

I've only broken 2 saws (I think -- could be 1). Only use them for Yew.

Though recently, I just broke a hammer. I was using the same hammer since about 2006 to make stuff, then it broke. I was beginning to think they didn't break, lol. I bought a bunch more and broke 2 more in a row, but none since.

I miss that hammer. :pirate: Had my initials carved in it and everything.

Hello all,

Personally, I think having the brown capes break is a terrible idea. If you want to go for realism that way, then you'd have to make it so everything you wear could break while harvesting. I understand the tools that you use breaking, but not your clothes. Especially something that you wear on your back. I work in construction in real life. I've only ever 'broken' one or two pairs of pants. And the only way I've 'broken' a pair of pants was ripping the knees out of them. I've broken a LOT of gloves, but never a shirt that I'm aware of. Haven't 'broken' any hats either. I don't see how you could break a cape just harvesting flowers or whatever...

Totaly agree

I dont think that crowns that break or clothers that break while harvesting is going to give more realism in game. i totaly dislike this idea
