Problem with Alt-click behavior in current build

Recommended Posts

I'm running the latest build (bluap's exe) under Windows 7.

In the 1.9.3 release, ctrl-click on any item in inv window will move all quantities of the item to a bag. And when you have a sto window open, alt-click on any item in inv window will move all quantities of the item to sto. These actions work regardless of which cursor is active (i.e. pickup, use, grab). I've been using these two actions constantly since they were added, to the point where they are almost reflex actions while mixing or harving.

In the latest build, the ctrl-click works the same way as it did in the release version. However, the alt-click to sto *only* works if the cursor is in 'pickup' mode. Further, if you alt-click while the cursor is in 'use' mode, the item gets used. So if you're making rings, for example, it's very easy to wind up using a ring instead of moving it to sto. Using the item-list and eating (via 'use' in inv window), the cursor is constantly changing while mixing, so this is a real danger.

I don't know if this behavior change was intentional or not. I, for one, find it very inconvenient.

Oh dear, looks like we cannot please everyone! This thread asked it to be changed to the specific cursor. I'm not sure how we can resolve this unless we add an option of course.....

I'll make it an option to limit the action to the pickup cursor for both ctrl and alt clicking an item. If the option is disabled, the action will happen for any cursor. That way both alternatives are available and we have consistency between ctrl and alt behaviour. Will that be OK?

There is now and option (enabled by default) to enable the alt/ctrl click behaviour whichever cursor is active. Right-click the inventory title window and unckeck the "Alt/Ctrl-click With Any Cursor" option to make alt/ctrl click both work only if you have the Pickup/WALK cursor.
