Modable / enchanted weapons

Recommended Posts

This is a question (well actually two) for all master smiths in Draia ;)

Which kinds of modable swords are known to exist (i.e. can be made by chance when attempting to make the sword) currently?

And which of them can actually be enchanted (i.e. made into a Sword of Fire, of Thermal or whatever with the proper knowledge) currently?

I know that many books are around suggesting such abilities, but I also understand (or think I've heard peaople state) that for some swords no modables can be made (anymore? )....

I'd just like to be clear on the current options for enchanting weapons (and thus understand the reason for some insane amounts of gold copins asked for some of them :P

Thanks in advance for your expertise!

I have seen modable:-

Iron sword

Steel Long

S2e

Tit Short

Tit Serp

So that leaves - IBS & tit long. Not sure anyone would ever make tit longs due to ings cost and I am pretty sure IBS exists. (CEL Lists all)

As for what can be mixed - CEL has recipe for all upto and including tit short - so long / serp recipies not released.

Do remember not all swords have all 5 variants (f/i/m/t).

The high cost of enchanted swords is due to the old standard of 4 serpent stones and at least one enriched essence.

I believe the first enchanted swords were put in place when serpent stones were 3K gc or less and EFE were somewhere under 3.5K and enrichement stones could be purchased for cheap. Such things became quite a bit rarer and a number of people have been greedy, so prices for the ingredients went way up and now these swords are obsolete due to their cost.

These swords are for true collectors only and will remain that way until the prices go back down (I doubt it will happen) or the recipes or number of items created from them are adjusted.

The only way most magical swords enter these days I suspect is via store purchases.

By the time most can afford a magical sword otherwise and not die or break it easily they have invested a few pick points in human nexus. If they spend money on sword and later on they add PPs they can afford a better sword which does more damage but since there is almost no secondary market for old sword no way to upgrade it to new one.

Some are probably owned by role players or want the sword for looks which is fine. I do not know if they break any more than other swords but considering how much they cost in store having a very expensive sword break would be painful. You either use the sword when you need it meaning it is a tough monster (I spoke to one who only used it for Novac quests) or you use it and take chance it break when you probably could kill creature w/o special weapon.

I noticed many bots have them probably from old days when prices were lower and owner's want bots to stand out.

One additional note - this makes all of the Titanium/Steel Long Sword Books basically useless correct since no one will ever create one, correct?

Doesn't have to necessarily be older in the case of bots. I got a high-level manuer to mix my ISoF ings for one for my bot. And yes, just for looks. Most all of the enchanted weapons in game (excl. serps) are for bot decoration.

None of the enchanted tit longs have known ings in the encyclopedia, so they're not makeable. Just as well since tit longs don't normally get mixed anyway.

So what are the drop books for if unmakeable?

Radu has added books to the game and neglected to add recipes or never made up his mind for the recipes a number of times. The moderators might remind him of such things if people talk to them about it. Some of the moderators actually do make such things, so some of them have a need for the recipes too.

These titanium long of fire/magic/ .... and titanium serpent of fire/ice ... books are for those guys who want to read all books, like myself.

The best made able swords are these ti short of fire/ice .... Considering you need around 10-12 nexus points for those swords + the books its kinda rare you find many manufacturers being able to. It took me quite a while to read all the made able shiny swords. I still lack the magic nexus and I won*t change that too soon, as such a shiny sword costs more than a great sword (compared to the ingredients). Also the damage of those shiny swords (which can be made) is far too low.

The only reasonable sword to make is the thermal s2e if you can make those, as those modable swords are plenty and cheap, and the damage is nearly the same as thermal ti short ...

The one benefit to the enchanted blades (some of you call them shiny swords) is the special damage. I imagine this means that regardless of armor of the opponent, if that person does not have the appropriate heat and/or cold protection, the damage will still go through....regardless of how weak and pathetic your character may be compared to the opponent.

Well, that and low nexus requirement, but anywho....

Those guys with dragon armor will laugh about such swords and for training such swords are Rather useless in my opinion ...

Yes you may kill some "monster" who are weak to such damage faster but I can also make radio ti long (doesnt needs so many pickpoints to manufacture it and also get the monster bonus).

The value of such swords doesnt stands for the damage they inflict, so better stick to a cheaper sword at the end ....

Anyway just my thoughts about that special stuff
