Cannot hear fighting sounds

Hi, I'm having problems getting fighting sounds to work (i.e. i don't hear any fighting sounds from my char nor from the creature).

 

I've just downloaded the Full Sounds Pack and have placed it in the correct folder. All sounds, such as walking, inventory, eating etc are working EXCEPT fighting sounds. Within options, all sounds levels are set to 0.50 or higher already.

 

I can play all the downloaded sound files within windows, just cannot hear them in the game.

 

Inside my documents/eternal lands/logs folder/main_fa4.log are the following lines related to sound

Fixed - though after trying so many things, it's hard to determine WHICH fixed it.

- checked that *.ogg files played on computer outside of EL normally

- adjusted sound levels

- relogged

- re-downloaded sound files

etc...
