Is the evanescence perk worth it? I am told more than once that it is only good for people with high a/d (120+ at least). Why is this? Wouldn't a 10% dodge be good at all levels? (I read in the old evanescence thread which Radu posted that it was actually 15%?)

I also read in a thread I made eons (err... 4 years ago) that too high p/c is bad. My current stats are: 77/81 a/d, 29/48/4/4/4/18. I have steel set/titanium shield/COL/gatherer's medallion. I should train at cyclopes? The spawns of some training areas really bother me, whereas with Armed Orcs I am told there are two of them in an enclosed cage, good for killing. I'd imagine Cyclopes map is open and have sparse spawns.

Also, with my stats, I can still get into n00b instance. I have no experience with them. Is it worth it I learn?

And finally, what is a good way to make money? I have 52 harvesting, but my other levels (well, 40-something magic, but I doubt that'd make money) are low. My current method is harvesting toadstools. I have hellspawn right now, but I want to remove no more tears perk, buy the cape, sve pickpoints to remove hellspawn. So currently I'm harvesting toads because they are on open map on VOTD, but I heard harvesting coal is better cash?

Thanks for you help. :)

Very useful for tank builds of all levels, but I assume it is excecptionally useful at 120+a/d due to mobs with high crit chances, so only way to dodge is critical dodge. Correct me if wrong I'm not at that stage yet

I trained cyclops in egratia on sun tzu (collecting double-triple mobs on me at one time) and lions on normal days. this is because on sun tzu, the huge cost of supplies is balanced by exp, but on normal days I found lions better for long periods of training.

Armed orcs where from 77-80a/d for me, being slightly weaker. You're thinking of IotF secret ;)

Yes! Do learn. Great fun, good gc, and a challenge. Go with a group that knows what they're doing. And beware the melteans.

I used to do iron ore for bots in Crystal Caverns when lower level. I currently buy in coal and fire essence, harv iron ore in EVTR, mix into steel bars and sell. If you are unable to do that, maybe farm bones in PL skelly mine. Bones are worth about 2gc+ and you also get normal gc drops.

Thanks for you help. :)

No problem

Evanescence perk really gets useful for tanking in invances/instances and like many ppl already said at a/d 120-130+.

At that time you will start to train FT/yeti slowly. Monsters higher than your normal training chims up to that point

(DC/FC/MC) do much less and much lower crits than FT/yeti and so on. This is where this perk really shines.

I like to use mirror cape with MoL and SoP. I have the evanescence perk. I have had some times with this combo where I have had 4 chims, a yeti and a frost troll on me and I managed to stay in combat for over 4 minutes like that. Just evanescence and mirror skin gives you a good chance of not getting damage. The other two give you a good chance of getting a heal when you are hit. My toughness honestly sucks. I need more phys. My coordination is maxed. I am in the 100-120 bracket. The mobs that I mentioned were in a 120 cap SKF invasion. The evanescence perk helped me before I got myself a mirror cloak too, I think, by saving me a bit of healing requirements. The chance of MoL/SoP/evanescense/mirror going off when you have all of them is about 48% (for at least one of them going off), if my calculations and memory are right. I love bonus stacking.

If you want cyclops, EP is great. Not too many people train there. I have not seen anyone there the last few times I went for cyclops haider daily. Bring MtE and dis rings since they hit a bit hard. The evanescence will help you survive if they team up on you.

I know I am not a person that many people want fighting advice from, but at least I have had the perk and I am talking from experience. I hope this helps some.

Evanesence - go for it

max pc - once your 80s you can do it without too much ill effects.

coal is from WS cave through to norcarn, 4 map changes per run...

noob instances are worthwile learning - just PM me in game ill tell you trustworthy people to go with, explain tanking, yadda yadda. First instance you go on, go naked and watch, to get the idea.

Most will say the best way to make money is Alch, Make and sell Steel & Iron bars, there is always a great demand for these metals, and are well worth the makeing of

but you need to remove Hellspawn, i have had this Perk in the past, it is a terrible perk in the wrong circumstances, once free of HS you can go about your business making moneys :D

Until you remove hellspawn, try harvesting flowers in Arius. There are a number of 1+gc flowers there and the storage is outside. Alot of potion makers will buy those flowers to make extracts and such. Some of them are used in creature food. 0 map changes required. Pandas and such are available for meat and bones. Bones sell for over 2gc to those who buy frequently.

I'm considering buy NMT removal ($25!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1111111111111!!!) and replacing it with a NMT cape, and then getting 2 more pickpoints for Hellspawn (I am about to level up overall from harvesting). Eh. Right now I'm mining iron, good 7-9k per hour, so I'm content. I'll try to spam armed male orcs for short while, then cyclopes are that one map.

Melteans are teh rox. If you are interested in instances at all, I recommend starting with the 60-80 since it is the easiest (and most forgiving) to learn on.
