BruSu Report post Posted January 29, 2017 hi:) as there are these new tokens now, I think it would be good to leave IP to the Newbies. They will never have a chance to earn their first steps with all these high level beaver hunting players around. OK I know, you will answer if that will happen, players create alts to kill them, but at least the chances then might be fairer.
Maxine Report post Posted January 30, 2017 (edited) Totally agree, and this should include the rat cave, but not the tavern basement, since higher level players might get the spider daily. Maybe leave a single rat in the cave uncapped, so higher levels can still do the newbie tutorial. Same for the Novac and Newbie quest critters. revi Report post Posted January 30, 2017 Those tokens have been active for 2.5 days now. Perhaps wait a week or so to see how it stabilises, what kind of prices those tokens will demand, etc.? It's very well possible that the normal gameplay for those (few?) high level players that haunt IP pays more per hour than beaver hunting/rat chasing. And if you go to capping IP, at what level do you want to cap?
caladina Report post Posted January 30, 2017 (edited) Unfortunately I have to agree, +1 for IP cap Ftr I took 300 beaver on IP and got 3 token, so yes it is something I would do again if there is no cap Edited January 30, 2017 by caladina
revi Report post Posted January 30, 2017 I'm not against the idea of a cap if there is indeed a real problem; I'm just not convinced we can decide that 1.5 day after the change was made... Of course IP will get farmed, that's where I got those tokens as well, simply because it's by far the best area to farm those creatures (no other area has the same density of rabbits, beavers, rats, brownies, with the odd sprite thrown in). But, the farming in itself isn't a problem, it only becomes one if new players get pushed aside. If there aren't any around, no reason to stop others to use the spawns. Ok, this would require a bit of common sense and discipline from higher level players, to stop farming when new players want/need the creatures on/in IP Perhaps I'm too optimistic here... But I think asking for a cap without allowing the chance to settle down a bit first is overkill, especially since it's very easy to circumvent with alts (and no, forbidding alts for this purpose isn't going to work, most alts will want or need a few a/d levels). (Oh, and if you go farming in/on IP, please collect your bags and make sure you are at your keyboard when fighting)
RipTide Report post Posted January 30, 2017 I am with Revi on this. I would however like to see older players make way for newbies to do their tutorial when they show up. Serping a newbie is bad form.
Ranculos Report post Posted February 1, 2017 Beaver furs are a maia daily. I always go to IP for that, because it's just the best spawn. I agree with revi, wait a week or two and see if it really is an issue before doing something silly.
THEARROW Report post Posted February 1, 2017 If you cap the rat cave what if someone over it needs to do it for the quest?
