PK/Mixing contest - possible new fightclub

Recommended Posts

Hey everyone.

I was thinking today of what contest might be fun and I wanted to see how many people would join a contest like the one below.

5 man teams - the amount of teams would depend on the amount of people who wanted to play. Each player would start out with nothing in there inventory.

The group would vote for who the team captains will be.

- Each team captain would puck there team members 1 at a time.

- Once the teams were formed they would join an even guild set to total war with the other teams event guild.

- Once each team captain is in there guild they will be given the location of a hyperbag for there theam

- Each teams hyperbag would start with the same amount of ings inside.

- The ings inside would be the raw ings needed to mix armor, weapons, essence and potions. (ie. leather, thread, iron, sulfer, mixed flowers, vials, quarts ect, ect)

- The goal of the event will be to find and PK the other team using just what your team is able to mix from your bag.

- Other end goals could include capture the flag. Your team had a hyperbag to protect and you have to find the other teams first.

- Protect the captain. your team keeps your captain alive while hunting the other team.

- King of the hill. Gain points by being the only one on a pre determined location.

Who would want to do something like this?

Any other ideas for events?

It sounds like a variation of last-man standing. I am not sure what do you need mixing for in this set-up. There is no real reason to mix anything. Unless you meant:

1. Teams start without any gear.

2. Need to go to their hyperbag, mix their gear.

3. Kill each other.

That would make probably some more sense. However, you should spend more time on team balancing. At this point a team with 1 high-level manufacturer and 4 high-level fighters will sweep everybody.

The idea has potential. At this point it's but a rought sketch.

<edit>

A possible solution for balancing the team would be to start with very base ingredients. Moreover, you should include ings for gear, potions, essies. This will force the teams to balance their skill-set and plan their activities time-wise. Otherwise the other team might hit them before they are ready. Another idea would be to make 2 or 3 hyperbags instead of 1.

So, Im thinking keeping the ings basic. so no efes, bindings. so mostly leather armor, ti short, moon or sun med. and not enough ings to mix tonz of every essence and potions so you have to pick what you want to focus on.

make sure you mix enough to keep your health up and have MI on.

About holding it in a non-PK map: don't forget that the #enemy-combatant command is disabled (see http://www.eternal-lands.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=58228).

Should the contest be run when I'm online I will support it. We can make the teams PKable. All intereference will be punished with ban for a few weeks to let the offending party think things through, including all known alts.

If we can indeed lock/ban any player (+ alts) that interferes, I'm ready to help with that (not that I enjoy locking, but for some it's the only way to get the message across :( )

Better get radu to sign off on that as well, though.

I like the idea. To Vanyel's point, maybe interested participants can post relevant stats and an event moderator could choose teams.

Looks like you just volunteered to be the "event moderator!" Good show, nice to see you step up to the plate. :D
