Preface

Hello traveler, I can see you have come in search of knowledge about the past. A knowledge not lightly sought, and sought after only by the bravest of souls. I shall start by telling you that this is a story of a once great warrior, who fell from grace causing a great and cataclysmic civil war when he did so. His valiant efforts were noted by a great federation of a good many guilds brought together in an alliance of peace. But when the warrior drew weary of such a lasting and effective peace brought on by such a great alliance, his sight of his new found influence and power got the best of him, and he began to want more. He knew that this would lead him to do evil things, but he chose not to suppress his desire as he was taught to by his masters and teachers. It all begins in a secluded place on Isla Prima, during a dark time under grim circumstances.

Chapter 1

Storm_Shadow spawned near the wraith, and was welcomed by the gods of Eternal Lands, and placed his 4 pickpoints 2 each in physique and coordination. Knowing that these two were the most important attributes, he continued to begin his journey through EL in this way. Now wanting to acquaint himself with his surroundings, he decided to talk to the tutorial npc, who gave him a quest to touch the bars in Isla Prima and those in White Stone City, Grahm's Village, and at the docks. Once he had done so, and upon returning to the tutorial npc, he recieved a quest to harvest 5 of every flower on the island. Seeing this as monotonous, he paid some random stranger 30gcs to give him the required flowers for his quest. Then, returning once again to the tutorial npc after placing the flowers in his storage at Raven, the npc asked him to kill 10 rabbits and 10 beavers.

"Finally a quest worthy of my efforts," he thought out loud.

But someone heard him, a dark figure stood in the dimness under a tree, grinning vaguely under the hood of his cloak. Then, his thoughts could be heard by Storm_Shadow, who was intuned to a mysterious energy he could not understand.

"You will become a powerful Lord of Darkness, young one. Soon your journey to DARK will complete itself, and you will embrace the full power of the darkside." The voice sounded somewhat familiar in a freakish way, and it travelled over a few hours in his head.

Storm_Shadow did not understand what this voice in his head was talking about, so he decided to finish his tutorial quest, and upon doing so he went to Visine in front of the tavern. She directed him to a magic shop in Portland, where he discovered that he was an alien who crashed on a ship with many others and was acually a gifted engineer. He could never imagine himself as an engineer, but the oracle explained to Storm_Shadow that it was no cooincidence he crashed on Draia. Infact, he was destined to have a vast impact on the land of Draia, and it had a lot to do with that voice in his head.

What will happen next? Keep checking this thread to see when the next chapter will be installed. Will Storm_Shadow learn the truth about his destiny? What is that voice in his head about? And who is that dark figure? Alot will be unveiled in the next chapter of this epic story!!!!

Chapter 2

As Storm_Shadow began his journey south into Morcraven Marsh, he took advantage of the opportunity to reflect. He had no clue how he came to be, or what the hooded figure near the wraith was talking about. However, before he had time to complete his train of thought, he was met by a clone army of 40 male goblins.

"Halt! By order of the Empire you are under arrest." Was the message of the lead goblin.

Storm_Shadow had in his possession a sword of great power, his master told him only to use it for knowledge and defense, never attack. Drawing his Jagged Saber, he sliced through the goblins with precision, and without hesitation. His technique was perfect in every way, dismembering all but one of the goblins in a matter of seconds.

"Tell your master that Storm_Shadow bows to no one and his next attempt to subdue me will be met with even greater force," he said bluntly.

Now that the goblin was retreating into the north, Storm_Shadow returned his weapon to its resting place at his side. Feeling that there was more to the attempt on his freedom than he had forseen, he decided to journey back to the wraith and seek answers from the hooded figure. It was very strange how coincidental it had been that he was approached by an evil man only mere hours before being attacked. He was intent on finding the answers he needed, one way or another.

Along the way, Storm_Shadow came across the home of his wife, who he had not seen for a long time and also had suppressed memory of since the crash. He had been separated from her and his twin sons in the crash that also left him with amnesia. But the oracle had restored his memory of them in his subconsious mind without telling him, and now that he saw his sons he remembered everything. His wife had fallen ill, and would soon die. Somehow, he felt partially responsible, and vowed to prevent her from dying any way he could. Upon the request of his oldest son, Kai, he set out to complete his quest for answers and went to the wraith to confront this hooded figure.

When Storm_Shadow arrived at the wraith, the hooded figure was nowehre in sight. An onlooker told him that he had gone into the lighthouse on the hill to the west, so that is where he went and there he found him. Upon seeing Storm_Shadow, the hooded figure removed the hood, revealing the face of Storm_Shadow's father.

"Welcome, young Storm_Shadow, I have been expecting you," he said.

Storm_Shadow, somewhat cautiously, replies, "And to what end did you seek me out? What do you hope to accomplish?"

"Both of these are important questions, my son. However, perhaps you should ask me how you are going to save your wife. Yes, I know its hard to accept such a tragic event, but if you would become my apprentice, and learn to use the DARK side, together we can save her from a most certain death."

Storm_Shadow instantly drew his jagged saber and placed it against the throat of this person who resembled his father. He knew that what he asked was treason against the government of the empire he had came from.

"What you ask is treason." His voice has such authority.

"If you wish to save the one you love, then you won't mind getting your hands dirty will you?" he replied.

Storm_Shadow put away his sword, and kneeled at the feet of his father, pledging himself to his teachings. Almost instantly a dark cloud fell over all of Eternal Lands, inveloping it in darkness. All that were good in heart, felt a cold chill run through them as if all that was PURE and HOLY were about to be consumed in DARKness...

Wow, what a turn of events. What will happen next? Only way to find out is to stay tuned....

Chapter 3: The Dispute Within

As Storm_Shadow transveresed the terrain on his way to Isla Prima to confront the hooded figure, he sensed something was amiss. Although he did not know exactly why or how he knew this, but he knew he had to make haste to get there before newbies started dying. So he stopped at Raven storage to arm himself. As he armed his Iron Plate and Serpent Sword, he remembered that it was PaulB who supplied his sword.

"My sword has served a great warrior and ally for time past, and now I will honor that warrior by using it to put down all evil," he said subtly as he observed the trees around him.

The grass in his immediate area was of an irish greenery color, and there were leaves fallen off to the distance in the nearby woods. It must have been sometime in late July, early August, he thought, the colours of fall are all about us. It was then that time seemed to stand still, but within seconds he realized he was distracted, and imediately beamed to find something before him that made his blood run hot and his skin become like embers.

"Run you mortal scum, feel the full power of the DARK side," the voice seemed vaguely familiar to him.

The blood of mortals covered the ground, as body parts were tossed like stones about Isla Prima. There in front of him lay an army of undead skeletons, being controlled by a DARK lord of summoning, loyal to Mortos. His cloak hid the top half of his face, but Storm_Shadow could sense that a DARK power surrounds this person, and somehow he felt he was obligated to put this person down in combat. Pulling his serpent sword, he approached the figure, and placed the tip of his blade at the back of his head. To his amazement, the figure didn't even flinch, instead he took in a deep breath and began to taunt Storm_Shadow, trying to turn him to the DARK side.

"You want to kill me, don't you Storm_Shadow?" the question was cold, emotionless and without hesitation.

Storm_Shadow took a breath, thought for a moment, and replied. "I would certainly like to," was his response.

"Yes, I can feel your anger. It makes you stronger, gives you focus. Go ahead, strike me down, kill me to save these insects. Do so and complete your journey to the DARK side. It is your destiny," the voice seemed cold as if the person who uttered it was already dead.

Storm_Shadow sensed a trick, so he withdrew his sword, and instead with a single movement, he dismembered the entire undead army of skeletons and returned to the cloaked figure, who had been watching him. With this as his example, he gave the figure a choice...

"Now you have seen MY power, leave Isla Prima and never return, or I will do far worse than kill you, I will place you under a spell to make you watch powerlessly the people you hate so much flourish here. You would be a statue, a figure to be laughed at. Just like those you hate most, you will be powerless to help yourself." The statement was made with a confident voice, and Storm_Shadow affirmed it with a wave of his sword.

The cloaked figure replied, "very well I will leave this place, but you have not seen the last of me. You could strike me down, but my apprentice is more powerful than either of us!"

With that, he vanished and appeared to have teleported out. Storm_Shadow returned his serpent sword to his resting place, and began to heal the newbies as the come out from the underworld. As he did this, he couldn't help but ponder over who this apprentice was the figure spoke of. Could he trust the word of such a person? Did he acually even HAVE an apprentice? And is this apprentice as powerful as he says? If so, then the mage/fighters are in trouble, is only chance, was to approach his teacher and master who educated him in the arcane arts. His only hope to understand these turn of events. And so he prepared to return home Portland....

Chapter 4: The Ides of War

Upon arriving in Portland, Storm Shadow was met with a sight he was not prepared for. He could see in the distance, to his suprise, the same hooded figure that he had sent on his way.

"How could I be so stupid?," he said to himself. "I should have destroyed him when I had the chance!"

This day was one that would not soon be forgotten. He watched, helplessly, as his father slayed his family with a great force of lightning. Enraged, Storm Shadow ran towards this DARK lord, with tremendous speed. Upon reaching him, he pulled his saber and beheaded this evil person with one single motion. Then, he woke up from that dream to find the same figure standing over him.

"Indeed you are powerful, young Storm Shadow. You want to know the power to save your wife, now is the time to choose. Every single KotR is now an enemy of the Republic! Do what must be done, Storm Shadow. Do not hesitate, show no mercy. Only then will you be strong enough in the DARKside to prevent those you love from dying." These words were cold, and methodical. Clearly thie figure knew he had the leverage to make Storm Shadow do anything he wanted.

And so, Storm Shadow went, with the words stated under his breath, "Yes, my master."

Arriving in Kileran Field, Storm Shadow could sense the presence of KotR, and readied himself for battle. Approaching these young knights, he was greeted but his return was not so cordial.

"Hey, Storm Shadow whats up man we were beginning to wo...." He was cut off mid-sentence as Storm Shadow cut him in half with his Jagged Saber. Turning to the other KotR members, he dismembered them before they could recover from the shock. Collecting their deathbags, he proceeded to Desert Pines to seek out their leader in the arena.

"Storm Shadow issues an open challenge to the leader of KotR. All weapons allowed, no hold barred at Desert Pines Arena. To the DEATH!" The signs could be read from sea to shining sea. All who were literate, knew of this clash of the titans that was about to take place. Storm Shadow was known for dismembering his enemies, and for having such powerful magic that even the great Unolas feared his wrath. Can this mean the end for Eternal Lands as we know it? Has Storm Shadow turned evil all of a sudden? What will happen at the battle of the century in DP Arena? Tune in next time to find out!
